The menu speaks for itself! The service here is spectacular and the ambiance makes you want to stay past the 2 hour limit lol! 10/10 I'm already wanting to come back!!!

I first came here 2 years ago shortly after KPOT opened in Houston and had a mediocre experience. I was open to giving them another try with friends to satisfy my latest hot pot craving, in hopes that things have significantly improved over the past couple years. We made a reservation for 5 on a Saturday night and were promptly seated upon arrival. I've always believed that if a restaurant is good at one thing, they wouldn't need to expand their breadth of offerings. Between hot pot and Korean bbq, I've found the best places to be the ones that do either/or, not both. Furthermore, KPOT is a nationwide chain, which tends to have an impact on quality. Since KPOT offers both hot pot and kbbq, you have the choice of picking one or the other, or doing both for an additional $5. However if one person does both, the whole table must do it too. So make sure your group goes in with a game plan on what everyone wants to do. Ordering is via tablet system, which is convenient for sending in your orders to the kitchen immediately. But when you are sitting with a group, it is slightly inconvenient that only one person can view/order at a time. Yes others can still view the QR code menu, but orders can only be placed via tablet. Unfortunately the tablet system places limits on certain items, but this was easily resolved by asking our server to manually order from his system. I mainly focused on the hot pot on this visit. For my broth, I ordered the Spicy Szechuan - as it started heating up, I tried a sip of it and it definitely had a strong kick to it! I liked the spicy flavor; luckily it didn't make the boiled meats and veggies overly spicy. I also tried my friends' Healthy Herb and Tom Yum broths - both were very flavorful as well. I also tried a couple servings of the Korean bbq and while the meat was flavorful, I felt the marinade was a bit too strong. On the bulgogi especially, the marinade was way too sweet. The spicy pork also had a bit of a strong taste to it, which I smelt on my clothes for the rest of the night. The banchan sides, desserts, and dipping sauces are all located at a standing bar. Kimchi, pickled cucumbers, daikon radishes, and wood-ear mushrooms were aplenty. Dipping sauce choices were plentiful and I was able to concoct myself a decent sauce for my meats. We had filled up too much on the main course so didn't have room for dessert. Our server was great! Even though he didn't have to worry about taking our meat & vegetable orders, he was still attentive and refilled our waters constantly. As soon as we put in our orders on the tablet, the food came out promptly from the kitchen. This does seem like a popular place to celebrate birthdays however. I think you get a free meal if it's your birthday, and they even bring out a cute bear mascot to dance at your table as the servers sing you happy birthday. While this would not be my preferred place for either hot pot or Korean bbq, it is a fun vibe that is spacious inside and friendly service throughout. Perhaps we'll return at some point to celebrate a birthday or if the group is indecisive and would like to have BOTH options for hot pot + kbbq.

I'd give this place 3 stars but I added a star for the great service. Our waiter was super attentive and nice throughout the dinner. Constantly checked on us and was extremely courteous. We came here because we couldn't decide if we wanted KBBQ or hot pot and this place scratched both itches. I'd rate both kbbq and hot pot as 3/5. There are more hot pot options than kbbq but neither has as many options as a full on kbbq restaurant or a full on hot pot restaurant. I do like that hot pot is individual pots instead of a shared pot. There's a sauce bar with some sides and dessert - but similarly, there aren't as many sides as a regular KBBQ restaurant. The ambiance is nice - very trendy atmosphere although I wish the booths were secured to the floor. My booth seat kept sliding every time I got up or sat down. Overall an enjoyable experience although next time - I may just pick one rather than do both. Trying to cook both kbbq and hot pot at the same time was a bit too much.

Absolutely love KPOT. I've been to three different ones now. One in Florida, New York, and Houston. This Houston location offers two different type of akaushi wagyu. You order everything on the iPad besides the sides. The New York location (Bronx), you get your own meats. I believe I like this better because you can control how much you get so you don't waste food! I just love the concept of having both hotpot and Korean bbq. The quality of their food is amazing, also. The fact they offer crab legs also, that alone is worth the price. I will definitely be going to any KPOT location if I'm around lol

I went here for my bday and their website stated birthday get free meal . Well after showing my ID and I attended 1 day before my bday . The manager gave me 50% off but their website also stated 3 days before or after your bday for the discount . So I end up only get 50% . That is False advertisement for sure .

We had the best birthday celebration for my grandma. This was our first visit so wasn't sure what to expect at first but it exceeded our wildest expectations. Most importantly the service was the BEST! STEVEN, our server took such good care of us and was super friendly and helpful. Always checking in even though it was so busy. The hot pot quality was great as well- the pricing is competitive and has so many options for meats and veggies. My grandma even got a bday song sung and she felt so special. Can't thank Kpot enough!!!! Can't wait to come back in the future!

Hot pot or barbecue, why not both! KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot offers a delightful all-you-can-eat experience, combining the best of Korean barbecue and hot pot. The restaurant boasts a wide variety of fresh and tasty protein and vegetable options. Ordering is convenient with an iPad system, allowing you to select your starter dishes, including meats, veggies, and noodles, which the servers promptly bring to your table. Additionally, there's a self-serve sauce and dessert bar to complement your meal. Our favorite soup-bases are the Tom Yum, sesame pork, and vegetarian tomato. The veggies are fresh and the protein options are tasty. For the BBQ we absolutely love their spicy bulgogi beef, la galbi, short ribs, and premium steak. They all pair nicely with the Kimchi and seaweed salad that are self-served next to the sauce bar. However, during busy hours, the tables and seating areas can get a bit sticky, which might detract from the overall dining experience. Despite this minor inconvenience, KPOT remains a popular spot for its delicious food and unique dining concept.

We tried both Hotpot and BBQ. We had the Japanese Miso Hot Pot and it was super good!

The service was amazing. Any time we needed anything they were there already. The food was super good and had so many options! The whole vibe of the place was amazing as well. It felt super open and was super clean. Even in the parking lot you could tell it would be on the nicer end and it smelt so so good! Our server was Steven and he was amazing. Definitely recommend going! Oh! Try the sweet and spicy sauce super super good!

Such a joy! I hadn't been to a hot pot in 5 years so it was overdue. My flight got delayed so we stayed in Houston an extra night. My friend suggested we try this spot and it was glorious. Interior was modern but authentic, clean and the service phenomenal. We tried all types of Asian cuisine from rice noodles, octopus, different cuts of meat and broth. Pricing wasn't bad for a lunch buffet. Keep in mind that they charge you per pound for any food waste so only order what you can eat. I'll be back for sure.

Great place to be, the food is well served and it doesn't stop coming. The service is kind and fast and the place is good to be, the grills and hot pots are great.

I specifically asked our server whether we had enough time for the all-you-can-eat meal because I didn't want to feel rushed. She assured us we would have an hour and a half to eat and recommended that option, so we ordered it at $39.99 per person. Shortly after we started eating, my son stopped because he said the broth tasted overwhelmingly like MSG and made him feel sick. I wasn't impressed with the food either, but since we had already paid nearly $40 per person, I continued eating. Around 8:40 p.m. I asked for a bowl of rice. About 10 minutes later, after it never arrived, I asked again. The server went to the kitchen and came back saying there was no more rice because the kitchen had already closed. At that point it was only about 8:50 p.m., even though the restaurant doesn't close until 9:00 p.m. She also mentioned they had already done "last call," but no one ever informed our table that last call was happening. To make matters worse, I explained that my son wasn't eating because he felt sick from the broth and that some of the vegetables didn't seem fresh. Instead of offering a solution, I was told I couldn't order anything else, had to eat what was already on the table, and could be charged if we didn't finish the food. At that point there was no reason to continue the all-you-can-eat experience because we were no longer allowed to order. I asked for the check around 8:50 p.m., but was told to finish the food first. We finally received our bill around 9:00 p.m. and left still hungry and extremely disappointed. The biggest issues weren't just the quality of the food--they were the misleading expectation that we'd have plenty of time for all-you-can-eat dining, the kitchen shutting down before the posted closing time without warning, and the lack of customer service when problems were brought to the staff's attention. We left feeling hungry, disappointed, and unwell. Even an hour after leaving, I had already finished three glasses of water because my mouth and tongue still felt irritated after the meal. For $40 per person, this experience fell far short of what was promised. There are far better Shabu shabu/hot pot restaurants in the area. We'll stick to Shabu Zone and Shabu En from now on.

The food at Shabu En is so good! The service is very thoughtful also and they're very attentive. The decorations in the restaurant is also very nice and it's very clean too. There's plenty of parking so no need to worry about driving around to get a spot unless you're trying to be closer. When you walk in, there is a waiting area where you can sit while waiting to be seated. They also provide some water and snacks in the front while waiting. It also has a photo spot near the front. For the food, there is a big selection. They have lots of soup bases, and it's possible to switch soup bases if you feel tired of the one you started with. I tried a few and they were all good. The flavors start to mix after you put in your hotpot ingredients, so I would suggest drinking some of the soup beforehand. My favorite broth I tried was the duck broth. You can really taste the duck and it's the most flavorful to me, and someone in the group said you can really taste the five spice powder (I couldn't but I liked it a lot). The tonkatsu is pretty decent and tastes like what you expect. I tried the Shabu En special broth, and it tastes like dashi soup. Very standard and pretty good broth. In my opinion, the sukiyaki broth is good for short term broth and just dipping your meat temporarily. To me the sweetness overpowered the soy sauce flavor, but it's still very good. You get your meat by ordering with the server, but they come by very often and it comes out very quickly that you don't really notice a long period without any meat. At the center where you grab veggies and the sauce bar, there are sections where you can get drinks, such as tea and Vietnamese coffee, which is in addition to the drinks you can order off the menu. There is also a small dessert station but it's a must try! It has a snow shaved ice, and it has a toppings bar next to it with toppings and different sauces you can put on it. Overall, it's a really good AYCE restaurant that's definitely worth trying out.

If you like fattier cuts, I recommend #2, #8, #9, and #10. I love that they have a self-serve snow ice station for dessert. It's a sweet and refreshing way to end the meal. They also have Vietnamese coffee, but the dispenser wasn't working very well when I was there. I'd love to try it next time!

The garlic sauce, black garlic, spicy ponzu, wasabi and corn are amazing. I just can't express enough how amazing it is to have the sauce bar and banchan bar. Banchan Bar: My favorite part of shabu zone and something that keeps me coming back. The onion jalapeno banchan is amazing, sweet and delicious perfect balance to the meat. The kimchi selection is great! I love making wraps with the white radish rounds too. Dessert: Good ice cream selection like their green tea and red bean flavors. Also, the coffee flavor is very good. The Vietnamese fruit cocktail che is also a nice touch that my parents love getting. Vegetable/Noodle options: Good options, I love the pumpkin and broccolli, watercress, spinach, enoki mushroom too! Lots of seafood options and different noodles. The hand pulled korean flat noodles are amazing. Broth: Broth is good, with sukiyaki being a favorite of mine along with Miso and Tonkotsu (vegetarian is nice as well). While the broths here are not as flavorful as rival shabu places like (Shabu En), it is good enough and does not hinder the experience. Overall, I will stand by my love for shabu zone. May be busy and hard to get a table at times though because of how popular they are.

Wish I could give them 20 stars! My friend suggested we try this place out and as neither of us…read morehave ever been before we decided to try it. And I'm so glad we did! The service was top notch Kevin our waiter was perfect, he explained exactly what us first timers needed to know (we opted for the BBQ vs Hot Pot) and gave excellent amount of service without interrupting too often, but without ignoring. And now my favorite part the food.... We ordered the following for our meat selections: Prime Beef Brisket, Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Garlic Chicken, Pork Belly, Cumin Lamb and Garlic Shrimp. For veggies: Shiitake mushrooms, Mung Bean Sprouts, Onions, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Zucchini and we topped it off with a pineapple drink. My friend said the veal and the pork belly were both delicious, I don't eat either so my review is based on everything else. OMG the flavors were so packed into the meats they needed nothing else. The spicy beef bulgogi was by far my absolute favorite (I polished off two full servings myself) the spice profile was so perfect that it enhanced the beef without masking the natural flavor and the use a good quality beef as well so any toughness is due to your own over cooking which still didn't happen. The shrimp and chicken came in tied for second place for flavor bomb, I'm pretty sure they marinate this stuff for days for it to taste so full of flavor! There is also a fully stocked "Sauce Bar" with so many different kinds of sauces and additions. The inside is very large, but not loud and they have a full bar for those who wish to sit there. If you haven't tried them yet GO! You and your stomach will thank me.

Had a great meal with friends on New Year's Day…read more The venue is older and needs a bit more effort on upkeep. It is eclectic, decorated in an Asian pop culture theme with [sometimes promiscuous lol] music videos playing on a big projector screen. And, it is honestly loud (booths are in rather close proximity to one another and there's constant clatter & commotion from the table action). We had a few issues - the grill didn't stay hot (either malfunctioning or low on fuel), there weren't any hot buffet options (like other locations offer), and a few menu items were unavailable (ran out) - but we enjoyed our meal, nonetheless. Even with a few missing offerings, there is plenty of variety - meats, seafood, vegetables, soups, noodles & rice. The sauce bar has many condiments & dips; you can play mad scientist with your seasonings/marinade. And, there was a cold buffet that offered kimchi and a few fruits. They also had a long list of beverages that included boozy cocktails and exotic smoothies or teas. Kevin was an outstanding server - extremely attentive & superbly patient (bless his heart for accommodating our rowdy and very needy group of newbies lol). He was assisted by a hard working team of table runners and busters who kept us stockpiled and refilled. The crew made sure things were never amiss. Some tips for first-timers: -The AYCE pricing is applied to the whole table, so you have to make a group decision if you want to do bbq or hotpot or both ($5 add on). -Holidays and weekends are priced for Dinner all day. -They don't take reservations, so there may be a wait (especially if you have a large group). -It is booth seating throughout, with a max of 6 people per booth. -You have a 2 hour time limit (which seems like a lot, but you do have to wait for meat to cook on the grill). Venue: 4.0 Ambiance: 3.0 Food (Taste / Variety) 4.5 Service: 5.0

Okay so we are so back. If it wasn't obvious enough, I come here too often and just haven't updated…read moremy review. This place continues to be my family's top hot pot spot, even after going to many locations in the greater Houston area simply due to the soup bases being so incredibly strong and the selection of ingredients always being top notch. The only things I have food-wise about this place are the following: 1. I think the meat selection is often inconsistent. Sometimes I will order the number 3 and 4 and it'll be really good, and other times it will be hard to eat. 2. I think that the noodle selection is missing like a handmade and hand pulled noodle. The closest thing currently is the lo mein, which I really like, but I'm still wanting more options. 3. Often, the sauce stations will have some empty bottles on the side, which is often inconvenient since I tend to add most if not all to my sauce. Other than that, the service this time was much better and much more on top of it. I will most definitely head back here again and again. Like I said in the beginning, WE ARE SO BACK!

Great selection of meats! Very tasty! Very fresh vegetables and the seafood was fresh and taste…read morewonderful. My true favorite of hotpot is the fresh vegetables anyway! I did try all of the meats and it was a lot of food but every cut was great! Nice open restaurant with plenty of seating and arranged so you feel as if you have your own space. The only reason I dropped it by a star was that there was only one person waiting on a large portion of the guests. She really tried hard and this is not a knock on her. But even though it was a slow night she struggled to keep up at times. I would have given it 4.5 if I had the choice.
