I especially love coming during lunch because it's very affordable, and you still get an amazing meal for the price. The atmosphere is always clean, welcoming, and lively without feeling overwhelming. It's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family, and the restaurant always has a fun, energetic vibe. Came here a couple days ago for dinner with a friend. We were craving hot on a cold rainy day, so this place was a perfect spot to hit. I love the variety of meat, seafood, vegetables, and other miscellaneous carbs that we have to choose from. I also loved how they have an extensive sauce bar and a bar where you can get a lot of the pickled food items as well, such as cucumber salad, kimchi, pickled radishes, etc.. I really thought that for 30 bucks for dinner we got our moneys worth of food. My only major complaint is that our service was horrible. The waiter would forget about us, and we would be wanting more meats and more veggies and the amount of time we spent waiting we just got full from sitting and twiddling our thumbs. We would flag other waiters down and they would say that they'd get our waiter and we'd still end up waiting 15 to 20 minutes before they would show. The reason I'm bringing up the slow service is because there is a two hour limit for both the hot pot and the KBBQ. If you're going to have a time limit for how long you can eat then I expect the service to be at a faster pace. They don't have a call button or an iPad situation where we can just put in our order. So if you come to eat, you're very reliant on the staff to order. Overall I would come back to eat here again. We were pleasantly surprised to see a Kpot here in Houston. There was one in California that we used to always go to and so it was reminiscent of us to hit up this location. The concept is the same- either hot pot / Kbbq or +$5 for both options, which is what we opted in for. The broths see good, meat selection is decent. I first came here 2 years ago shortly after KPOT opened in Houston and had a mediocre experience. I was open to giving them another try with friends to satisfy my latest hot pot craving, in hopes that things have significantly improved over the past couple years. We made a reservation for 5 on a Saturday night and were promptly seated upon arrival. I've always believed that if a restaurant is good at one thing, they wouldn't need to expand their breadth of offerings. Between hot pot and Korean bbq, I've found the best places to be the ones that do either/or, not both. Furthermore, KPOT is a nationwide chain, which tends to have an impact on quality. Since KPOT offers both hot pot and kbbq, you have the choice of picking one or the other, or doing both for an additional $5. However if one person does both, the whole table must do it too. So make sure your group goes in with a game plan on what everyone wants to do. Ordering is via tablet system, which is convenient for sending in your orders to the kitchen immediately. But when you are sitting with a group, it is slightly inconvenient that only one person can view/order at a time. Yes others can still view the QR code menu, but orders can only be placed via tablet. Unfortunately the tablet system places limits on certain items, but this was easily resolved by asking our server to manually order from his system. I mainly focused on the hot pot on this visit. For my broth, I ordered the Spicy Szechuan - as it started heating up, I tried a sip of it and it definitely had a strong kick to it! I liked the spicy flavor; luckily it didn't make the boiled meats and veggies overly spicy. I also tried my friends' Healthy Herb and Tom Yum broths - both were very flavorful as well. I also tried a couple servings of the Korean bbq and while the meat was flavorful, I felt the marinade was a bit too strong. On the bulgogi especially, the marinade was way too sweet. The spicy pork also had a bit of a strong taste to it, which I smelt on my clothes for the rest of the night. The banchan sides, desserts, and dipping sauces are all located at a standing bar. Kimchi, pickled cucumbers, daikon radishes, and wood-ear mushrooms were aplenty. Dipping sauce choices were plentiful and I was able to concoct myself a decent sauce for my meats. We had filled up too much on the main course so didn't have room for dessert. Our server was great! Even though he didn't have to worry about taking our meat & vegetable orders, he was still attentive and refilled our waters constantly. As soon as we put in our orders on the tablet, the food came out promptly from the kitchen. This does seem like a popular place to celebrate birthdays however. I think you get a free meal if it's your birthday, and they even bring out a cute bear mascot to dance at your table as the servers sing you happy birthday. While this would not be my preferred place for either hot pot or Korean bbq, it is a fun vibe that is spacious inside and friendly service throughout. We came here because we couldn't decide if we wanted KBBQ or hot pot and this place scratched both itches. I'd rate both kbbq and hot pot as 3/5. There are more hot pot options than kbbq but neither has as many options as a full on kbbq restaurant or a full on hot pot restaurant. I do like that hot pot is individual pots instead of a shared pot. There's a sauce bar with some sides and dessert - but similarly, there aren't as many sides as a regular KBBQ restaurant. The ambiance is nice - very trendy atmosphere although I wish the booths were secured to the floor. My booth seat kept sliding every time I got up or sat down. Here at KPOT for the first time and excited. You can get either hot pot or Korean BBQ. Here is the catch if you coming with people, everyone has to order the same thing. What I mean is that the table needs to either be doing Korean BBQ, Hot Pot, or both as a collective. Heads up, if you order drinks at the bar, they will take forever to come out. We ordered our drinks about 15 minutes ago waiting for our table and got our table first and still no drink from the bar. Hung was an amazing server. He was entertaining, he was informative, and just a joy to interact with. This a great place to take friends and family. Good times and greater food. I went with a friend I haven't seen in forever and forgot to take pictures. We went in a Saturday around lunch and chose to have the hotpot and Korean BBQ option. It was almost overwhelming in a good way due to the many options. Go hungry especially if you will choose both. If not, one or the other will be more than perfect. I ordered the miso broth which was subtly perfect after I added some chili oil. Every thing we ordered from the appetizers to the spicy beef bulgogi was perfectly seasoned and cooked well. Only slightly change I would want is for the mushrooms to be cut a tad bit smaller. Servers are highly attentive and take care of you despite how busy it was. Absolutely love KPOT. I've been to three different ones now. One in Florida, New York, and Houston. This Houston location offers two different type of akaushi wagyu. You order everything on the iPad besides the sides. The New York location (Bronx), you get your own meats. I believe I like this better because you can control how much you get so you don't waste food! I just love the concept of having both hotpot and Korean bbq. We had a very delicious and filling lunch at KPOT today. It's our first time here and very impressed with the clean and spacious interiors, excellent service and quality and selection of hotpot and bbq ingredients. Vince was our amazing server and he took great care of us. We ate to our heart's content until we couldn't eat anymore. Everything was great but our favorites were the short rib, ribeye steak, brisket, Angus steak, various seafood and vegetables. There were different sauces, herbs and spices you can mix and match to your liking. Also different broths to choose from. Came to do kbbq only and thought it was good! There is other locations I thought the meat quality is better, but for a place of both kbbq and hotpot I think it is pretty reasonable. This is a nice spot to go to if you're dining out with friends or family! It is a bit pricey at 40.99$ per person (if you're doing the Hot pot+ Korean Bbq) but it's all you can eat. I really like the way they do their ordering system, they give a small tablet and you order what you want on that instead of having to wait for your server to come by. Quick service too, the food only took about 10-15 to get to the table! They have a good options for kids as well. I took my friends here for their first time trying hot pot and they absolutely loved it. I've had hot pot many times but it was my first time dining here as well. I chose this place because it's AYCE so they can try all the ingredients, they have individual hot pots which I personally love, and they offer tom yum soup base which is my favorite. The place is huge and very nicely decorated with a modern vibe. We came in for an early dinner on a week day and were seated promptly. With it being my friends' first time, I was ready to coach them on the process, but when Lyna our server, found out it was their first time, she was so nice to explain how it works to them. She made them feel welcomed and eager to eat! There's a sauce bar with numerous ingredients. Also on the bar are different kimchi which I'm assuming is the banchan for the Korean bbq. We opted for hot pot only but if I was getting kbbq, I would be disappointed if that was the only banchan available. Lastly on the bar are some desserts, fruit, and salad. As for the ordering process, you submit your hot pot ingredients on an iPad at your table and they bring it out to you. I like this as I feel there's less error in getting what you order this way. The first round was fast coming out. We left to make our sauces and by the time we came back, everything had arrived. I will say the second round took a little too long to come out. Perhaps put in the second order before you run out of ingredients to avoid a lag in your meal. I opted for the tom yum soup and while the sour and spicy taste was there, it was a little too much on the sweet side for me. I had a taste of the spicy soup and it definitely packed a kick in a tasty way. The ingredients were all fresh from the seafood to the veggies. The meats were also a good quality although the portions come out small. Lyna checked in on us often even as the crowd grew. My friends ordered drinks from the bar which they both said was weak. That was a little disappointing. I didn't want to order one after that. I need to get my money's worth when it comes to drinks. We really enjoyed our experience at KPot. I've experienced Korean barbecue a few times, but definitely an amateur when it comes to hot pot. I brought my brother along who did not experienced either. They notated we were noobs on the ticket, but it didn't seem to matter much. The server gave us a very brief introduction, it was pretty busy the rest of the time. It would be nice to have a little more assistance as it can be quite overwhelming. The menu is on an iPad and you select items as you go and they're brought to the table. Definitely recommend getting a few items at once so the table doesn't get too overwhelming. They were a lot of sauce options at the bar. Also be nice to have a little bit of a guide of what to get from there as well. The quality of the meat I would say overall is quite good for the price. It was 31 if you just wanted one method and I believe around 35 if you want both. Located in a shopping center, so plenty of parking. KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot isn't bad overall, but there are definitely things they can improve on. We came here as a party of 8 at 7pm on a Wednesday for dinner. Some people have had long wait times for a table, but we luckily got seated immediately. The restaurant seems huge so I imagine it takes awhile for them to become completely full, especially if you come on a weekday. Pricing: $19 for lunch and certain premium menu items are not available for lunch. $29 for dinner, whole menu is available. You have to add $5/person though if you want to do AYCE hot pot and Korean BBQ, and the whole table has to agree on the same option. It was our first time here so we did the both option to try everything. Food: The menu is huge if you're doing both AYCE hot pot and Korean BBQ. It's honestly overwhelming how many choices there are. Order the "dinner items only" that are marked on the menu if you want the most bang for your buck. Our favorites are their kobe beef, beef tongue, sliced beef belly, kpot short ribs, and spicy beef bulgogi. We ordered an assortment of vegetables, lobster/fish balls, noodles, etc. as well. Everything comes out at the same time though so it's extremely overwhelming because they don't tell you which is what meat exactly, and whether it's for hot pot or korean bbq. Good luck figuring it out, we just ate whatever was brought to us. It'd be a big help if they color coded or labeled which plates were for korean bbq/hot pot respectively. Service: Other people seem to have had problems with service here, but that wasn't the case for us. Our waiter was great, I wish I remembered his name. He came back frequently to check on us and helped us to order more meats. I just wish they told you what was what whenever all the meats come out at the same time. Our grills and soup pot burners were very strong, and cooked our foods quickly. The built in ventilation was strong too because our table wasn't overly smoky while cooking. It's a neat concept to have hot pot and KBBQ at the same time but it can get very chaotic. Everyone in your party has to agree to get both hot pot and KBBQ for an extra $5 otherwise it's one or the other. The wait on a Saturday night was about an hour for our big group. When we were finally seated, the table felt cramped considering you will have many items that be arriving for the hot pot and KBBQ. Where the individual hot pot was positioned, the steam kept blowing in my face. It wasn't very convenient to cook the KBBQ meat. We ended up eating mostly the KBBQ. They had a variety of meat options as well as veggies on the menu. The bulgogi and short ribs were my favorite. The service was a bit off. We got items we didn't ordered and never got items we did ordered. It was a very busy night but it felt like that they were understaffed and also inexperienced. I got the tom yum broth for the hot pot and only cook just the meat in the hot pot. Broth was flavored nicely. I would try only the hot pot if I were to come back to be able to fully enjoy it. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I had high hopes for this place. We showed up at 1:15, and was told it was going to be an hour wait. We were too committed to staying and luckily we only waited 40 minutes. It's a dream come true to have BOTH hot pot AND. kbbq. But to my surprise it's actually too much of a hassle. Shocker, I know. The price is $28.99 but add $5 for BOTH. So you're looking at $33 per person for both. You're doing too much by multitasking. You're getting a bunch of raw meats and get confused what goes in your soup vs what goes on the grill. Technically it can all be grilled but all can't be in the hot pot. It's too much work. I'm starting to think one or the other is preferable. You're multitasking but focused on one thing. It makes sense for the time limit to be 2 hours. Cause you'll never see your waiter again. You're greeted at your table, get your water, and they're gone your entire meal. You'll see them from afar but will never make the death stare to get more food. And when you want more food, you flag another waiter down, and get rejected. Their response to you is "You have to wait for your waiter." Yikes. We wouldn't flag you down if we hadn't seen our waiter for a hot minute. A lot of our items didn't show up. And when we paid, two of our beef belly and corn we had been waiting on, literally shows up as soon as we get up to leave. Damn. That's how slow service is on a busy day. But according to the rest of the reviews, everyday seems busy. I'm cooking galbi short ribs and some of the calamari items while my mom indulges in her hot pot. I was getting hungry fomo. We literally had to tell the food runner that we just paid and it took too long to get our food. Damn the look on his face was stressed. The service needs a lot of improvement. It was too slow to not be able to find our waiter for more food, change of grill, and getting napkins. You do have a self serve sauce station. Surprisingly, you the end of the sauce bar has a variety of fried foods. Yes. Fried. You get fried chicken, karaage, onion rings, and egg roll. Quite the selection at kbbq and hot pot. My mom got the kpot special soup broth which had umami mushroom flavor. I ended up getting the Thai Tom Yum broth. Both flavors are a solid 8/10. Don't go looking for a self serve dessert section. There ain't one. So no sweets to cut the grease on your tongue. Signs say you are subject to paying $13.99 per pound of food that is uneaten. Let's be honest here. With the lack of waiters checking on you, they would hardly notice. That's not to say go right ahead and waste food, but it's easy to get full waiting around. While this place has great potential, it just really lacked service. Especially not receiving a lot of the items we ordered and getting them AFTER we paid. I heard about this spot on social media & it had a lot of hype to it so of course I had to give it a try. Our group of 10 arrived on Saturday at 7pm & we got on the waiting list. The wait time was about 35 minutes which wasn't bad at all considering how busy it was. Our group decided to do the BBQ & hot pot just to get the full experience even though half of the group didn't order any hot pot. Our server, I didn't catch his name did his absolute best to accommodate us even though it was extreme chaos at the restaurant. So there were two grills at our table; 5 of us shared one and the 5 shared the other grill. I will say that the other group's grill took a long time to cook & it was burning quickly as well while ours cooked just fine. We added butter to the grill that way it won't burn so fast & the meat won't stick to the grill. We ordered a lot of meats/veggies but the one that was my favorite was the Spicy beef bulgogi & the K Pot short ribs. They marinated it very well. My least favorite was the spicy calamari, it was just spicy and that's it. For myself, I also ordered the hot pot and I got the Japanese miso as my broth. I thought the broth was okay but they have the sauce bar to spice it up. The sauce area also had some chicken wings, egg rolls, fries & fruits as well. I didn't come here for chicken wings but their wings were very good when it came out fresh. Good flavor & the batter was crispy. There were a few minor hiccups that I want to mention. The grill from the other group was not cooking that well even on high heat. My friend drink had a fly in it, our server apologized and got him another one. Some of the items that we ordered did not make it to the table. There were several items that were brought to us and we didn't even order it, which is okay I guess but the group already had so much food & we had to make sure to finish the extras that were given to us (definitely not wanting to get charged extra for wasting excess food). We tried to hand it back but the runner told us to keep it, Luckily our group can eat. At the end, the staff came to our table accompanied with a person in a bear costume to sing a Happy Birthday to me which was very nice of them. Overall, 3.5/5 stars for the food but I'll round it up to a 4 because our server tried his best to accommodate our big group & his other tables as well. Really great spot for people who love having options! You can choose Korean BBQ or Hot Pot or you can have both for $5 extra. You really can't go wrong with either option. Each table has an individual tablet that makes ordering a breeze! I love how this place has a large variety of food options. I highly recommend trying the Korean Seafood or Thai Tom Yum Soup bases. Both are very flavorful. You can't go wrong with any of the meats too. I really enjoyed the prime brisket and sliced pork belly. Very yummy! Overall, I had a great time at this spot. Can't decide btwn KBBQ or Hotpot? Well have no fear, KPOT IS HERE! This restaurant is the definition of : Why not both?! Never choose between KBBQ & hotpot again, and never choose between value or quality. Here at Kpot, you can have it all. As of March 2023 Lunch is $18.99/ person for ONE option and Dinner $28.99/person. + $5.00 for BOTH hotpot and k-bbq. They do not skimp on portion sizes. They gave us a good amount of everything we ordered, even w the more expensive items. All of the meats & seafood were delicious and of good quality. There's also wide variety of options to choose from for both hotpot and K-bbq. Sadly, they were out of Blue Crab, Swai Fish, & Premium Steak Ribeye. Ultimately, the service needs more work. A lot of the workers are new and undertrained, and it shows. The worker behind the bar had no knowledge about alcohol, he could not answer any questions I had about the drinks. It took 30 mins to make my order of 1 lemon drop martini and 1 shot and I watched him underpour my shot even though he was using a jigger. Also our server informed us that it was his first day & was unexpectedly put on the floor as a server. It took a bit of time for him to put in our orders. But once those were in, our food came out fast and he took good care of us throughout the meal. Overall, I think this restaurant is going to be one of my new favorites. However, I'd probably give it sometime before coming back so the workers find their groove and there's less of a crowd/wait. read more

Honestly the concept of KBBQ and hot pot sounds like it would be very good, but the overall experience was incredibly overwhelming, and neither the kbbq nor the hot pot quality/flavors were good. All of the ingredients felt very dull, and there was also very little table space to grill and enjoy your hot pot. The sauce bar that they had was also not super impressive, and I wasn't a fan of any of the kimchis they had. The servers were really nice, and the free meal on your birthday is also probably a plus, but I still wouldn't return. (I also woke up early the next morning not feeling well, and threw up several times, but I don't necessarily want to place blame on the restaurant itself since it could've been something else or the cooking that we did). read more

Coming in this place is huge, you got plenty of seating. The vibe is definitely catered to younger people as there are neon lights all over the ceiling. Starting off, I want to mention that if you do go with a party you all have to be in agreement of whether or not you want hot pot, Korean BBQ, or both. We did the hot pot and Korean BBQ, and honestly that was my first mistake lol. There was a lot going on around me, I was a bit overwhelmed by everything. I try my best to eat a lot and normally there is a designated person to do the BBQ, that is me. So if you're the griller AND you're trying to eat hot pot it can get confusing. It was also my mistake of ordering everything all at once- you order off an iPad that they leave at your table. Don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach, because that is exactly what I did. The kimchi wasn't my personal favorite, it leans more toward the less sugary version of kimchi. The BBQ sauce and the KPot sauce tasted very similar, if not the same. The food was good and the service was totally fine, but I would do it differently next time. read more
