    Kpot special broth

Since I've heard of this place it was exciting to see this location open need and had wanted to try. We came on a Friday afternoon for their lunch. Upon entry you see neon light disco-ish K-bbq tables. You let the hostess know how many and they usher you to the table. FYI. Everyone at the same table must order the same deal (BBQ or hotpot only or both). Once seated, the waiter came to take order for drinks & hot pot broth and gave instructions for ordering. There's a small buffet bar in the back with some fried items, banchan (side dishes like kimchi), fruits, all the sauces & ice cream for dessert. We fill a plate of buffet bar goodies and wait for meat & veggies to arrive. Then the cooking & eating begins... They have à la carte items if you don't want to cook but this is definitely a cook you own food place. Overall the raw food selections were ample, the marinate, sauces & broth outstanding, and could use a little better selection of dessert. The services could be more attentive but overall great place great prices esp. lunch. Will come back next time around the area.

My family and my husband wanted to check out this spot . The inside looked very futuristic but I should had done more research prior to coming as to if you had to cook yourself or does someone cook the BBQ K Pot yourself. We are used to the spot we have gone in NJ where they cook it . At this location you have to cook it yourself. I felt the quality of the meat wasn't that great and the portions that they gave you were not equivalent to how many people was with you. We even ordered more and still came out with the same amount. Plus the server said that theres already seasoning on the meats but if you wanted to theres different seasoning in the back you can grab but the meat that has already been seasoned you couldn't really taste anything. The server we had was a a bit slow we were waiting a while , then when we wanted to leave they just disappeared. We wanted to get the check to leave but we waited a good 10 - 20 mins before tracking them down and then had another waiter try and find them . Overall I thought it was a okay place I wouldn't seek it out. Plus I thought it was very expensive to go during dinner time. I would have opted to go during lunch time.

Super excited to see this KPOT location open up in Middletown! I actually have not been to locations in NYC to compare but this location was very spacious and accommodating - it wasn't too crowded at all. We waited just under 5 min for our party of 6 (5+baby) to be seated when our estimated wait time was about 25 min, on a Saturday evening around 6. You see a virtual waitlist on your phone so you can go shopping in the meantime! They brought us a booster seat for baby and our server Natalie was very sweet and earnest, and was happy to describe the process and specials. You end up ordering everything on an iPad except drinks. The food comes so fast that we had to ask someone and wait for our grill to be prepared and warm up because all our food was just there already. We did korean bbq only for $38 on a weekend, and while the food comes fast, the grill itself is pretty small. They leave a little too much space for the hotpot burners and the plates, so we had to wait a long time for stuff to cook for 5 people. They have a sauce station along with some already prepared foods (coconut shrimp, french fries, wings, chicken nuggets, kimchi, fruit, dessert) to snack on while you wait. The kimchi was really good and the meat selection was a long list too! Pleased with the experience overall and will likely be back!!

First time? Let me be the one to tell you--GO TO KPOT! We came here to celebrate my grandma's birthday (she's been obsessed with this place since it opened), and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. It's not just dinner, it's a whole vibe, interactive, flavorful, and seriously fun. Bonus: If it's your birthday and you come with a party of 4 or more, the birthday person eats free.99! Yes, FREE. What more could you ask for? Our server, Ary, was the highlight of the night. Such a sweet and funny guy--he gave total Bad Bunny energy (in the best way) and had my grandma laughing the whole time. That alone made the night unforgettable. The place is super clean, fast-paced, and the staff keeps things running smoothly. Whether you're a hot pot pro or new to it, KPOT is such a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

They turned up the white lighting (or who knows, but it's not dark blue in there anymore!) and now I can see what I'm cooking. Service also still great. A++++

The service is amazing, the marinade of all the BBQ meats are so delicious. You can't beat the prices and the bar drinks are strong ;) Highly recommend KPOT in MIDDLETOWN, NY.

Food was delicious! The Thai hot pot broth was very tasty. I would definitely go back. Our server was very attentive and food came out fast to cook. Definitely recommend getting both hot pot and bbq.

If you check out my posts, we love Korean BBQ. Unfortunately, the meats were all under seasoned. The pork belly was really bland, I tired dipping into the sauces but even that couldn't enhance the taste. My son loves egg soufflé and if you see the picture, this does not compare to the egg soufflés we've been to. Unfortunately, even the kids had a literal bad taste in their mouth. The cooking area was small and the heat not strong enough that after cooking the first 6 half strips of thinly sliced pork belly, we had to wait 7 minutes for the next batch to cook. Yeah, the place does look very deserted but picks up after 7-7:30 pm. Reading other reviews, I'm glad that some people find the place great but for Korean style BBQ and meat flavor, they totally missed the mark. You can definitely improve a lot on this.

Honestly it was refreshing to get good service that felt real. So the beef Ttukbaegi bulgogi, I thoroughly enjoyed, a lot of beef and well flavored and not an overkill of veggies. But would loved some more mushrooms though. The sauce/stew itself was really good, I keep drink it and pouring over my rice. I found the rice okay, but definitely jasmine over hard boiled rice preferred. I liked side salad and wish I had more, it had a-bit of spiced edge and was better than the typical ginger dressing you get. The bubble tea was perfect, not overly sweet and generous on the size of it, but definitely would do better in another glass since straw could not reach the boba pops well enough. another note, always appreciate a place that gives you large glass to refill your water.

Remotely located(a single building…read moreof its own)in Paramus, NJ, it always allows for a moment of relaxation whenever I visit here. Not so busy during weekdays or lunch time, but you may need to wait for a while for Saturday or Sunday dinner. Marinated Galbi and Rib-eye Steak are always solid choice, paired with lots of side dishes including doenjang/kimchi jjige and steamed egg. The service (specifically the larger dining area on the left) is superb. My family routinely has been visiting once a month for the past couple of years. Recently (Q1 in 2024), some meats were not as good as before, but I hope it was just one or two bad timing/ either not-enough marinated meat or quality of beef. Will visit again soon and I hope I can write a 5-star review next time.

That said, this restaurant is one of few decent Korean spots outside of Fort Lee and Palisades Park. As such, it's become a return spot for our family members who live fairly local. As soon as you sit down, the default beverage offered is warm barley tea (which is much appreciated during those colder winter visits). The banchan, or side dishes, are few but a little more robust here than other Korean restaurants. During my last visit, we were given plates of standard kimchi, sprouts, and seasoned broccoli. I was also surprised to find pumpkin-egg salad, soy marinated lotus root, and soy-marinated ribeye pieces. The offerings change a little from visit to visit, but they're always decent to downright delicious. While I've not been wowed by anything from the menu, I've found most of the meals to be predictable. Hot stone bibimbap is my regular order, and I love the different proteins they offer here for mixed rice dishes. For those curious about the barbecue but unwilling to pay the high sticker price for a full entree, you can try the galbi, bulgogi, and spicy pork atop a bibimbap. During my last visit, I was delighted by the salmon hot stone bibimbap, which came with a great teriyaki marinade. My regular complaint with Seoul Galbi's bibimbap is that the hot stone has never gotten hot enough for my rice to char and crisp (which is arguably the best part of ordering it on a hot stone. Otherwise, why else would one pay the elevated prices?). When it comes to decor and ambiance, the restaurant is fairly no frills. As far as service goes, the waitresses have always been quick - quick to order, quick to serve, and quick to refill glasses (or, when asked, the side dishes). I also appreciate how slow they are to deliver the check, allowing conversations to linger. When my family and I came with a cake for a family member, the auntie serving our table not only came by with extra plates and silverware, she clapped and sang the 'Happy Birthday' song as boisterously as we.

Couldn't decide so we ordered a few apps (KFC chicken, edamame and scallion pancake) all of which were delicious. Decided to get bao buns and fried rice. I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

What else could you want? How about absolutely outstanding food? Yes! I was hangry so I ordered a kimchi pancake and an order of bibimbap (no meat) with extra hot sauce. Before all that arrived, I was surprised and delighted by a perfect salad with amazing dressing that I'd like to bathe in and small cup of friggin' delicious pumpkin soup. My kimchi pancake was the spicy, carb-laden appetizer that I needed with a plentiful side of chili sauce. Then, my sizzling bibimbap arrived and I was thrilled to find purple rice under the fresh, assorted vegetables and fried egg. A side of kimchi and fish cakes accompanied my bibimbap. My iced ginger tea was sweet and a perfect complement to the rest of the meal. I almost polished off everything....loved that purple rice that got nice and crispy in that hot pot. Gochunjang tasted homemade...thick, spicy, savory and slightly sweet. The menu isn't extensive or overwhelming....it's just right.
