My family and I had the pleasure of dining at the Storming Crab restaurant in Springfield, MO yesterday, and we were absolutely blown away by the incredible experience we had there. If you're a seafood lover like us, this place is an absolute must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of our time there. The restaurant's interior is cozy, with a nautical theme that instantly transports you to a coastal paradise. Storming Crab boasts an impressive menu filled with an array of mouthwatering seafood options. This was our first time here and we were hooked as soon as we walked in. Our excellent waitress, Ashley, warmly welcomed us and introduced us to a culinary flavor explosion - the seafood bread that would forever alter our dining experience. The garlic-infused, buttery, and delightfully cheesy crab bread was nothing short of a revelation. Its taste was SO good we had to order more. After finding out it was our first time eating there, Ashley gave us a recommendation to select one of the dinner combos. First, you choose your combo of seafood, that all come with sausage, potatoes, and corn. Then, you choose your boil flavor from their 5 options of flavors. Finally, you get to choose the spice level, so you can have it as mild or as fiery as you desire. For our appetizer we indulged in a half-dozen of the freshest raw oysters available. These pristine shellfish arrived on a chilled, circular platter, nestled on a bed of ice. Alongside them were carefully presented accompaniments, including wedges of zesty lemon, piquant horseradish, fiery Tabasco sauce, and a tantalizing seafood cocktail sauce, enhancing the oyster experience to perfection. We opted for the "#6 Dinner combo," a delightful medley of snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, and corn. We decided to add a pound of crawfish and black mussels, along with a half-pound of extra sausage, that were all seasoned to perfection with their signature crab house Cajun sauce. we went with the mild spice level, and it was just the right amount of kick to elevate the flavors without overwhelming our taste buds. Each seafood item was impeccably cooked, tender, and succulent, making it a seafood lover's dream come true. What truly sets Storming Crab apart is their unique dining experience. Forget about traditional utensils - here, you're given bibs and gloves to dive into your seafood feast with your hands. It's messy, it's fun, and it adds a delightful element of novelty to your dining adventure. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, and I was thoroughly impressed with the value for money. The Storming Crab Feast could easily satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. In conclusion, Storming Crab in Springfield, MO, is a seafood lover's paradise. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and unique dining concept, it's a dining experience that you won't soon forget. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving some mouthwatering seafood, Storming Crab is the place to be.

Food was good. Had the boil with shrimp, lobster, and snow crab. Lobster was a little overdone but good. Service was good.

Dinner Combo #7 with an order of Green Mussel (crab house cajun + garlic butter seasoning with medium heat)

Storming Crab is a quick cajun fix in 417-land. Finding decent cajun-seasoned seafood is difficult out here in the Midwest, but Storming Crab was a nice surprise! We ordered the Dinner Combo #7, plus an order of Green Mussels, with Crab House Cajun and Garlic Butter flavors and medium spice. The 3 of us finished every single bite of the platter! We asked for Super Hot spice on the side to dip our seafood in and it was a good level of spice. We'll come back to try Sam's Special next time. The only con is the sauces are VERY oily. If you LOVE garlic, get the garlic butter seasoning; otherwise, it may be too much for other's. For starters, we ordered a half order of Raw Oysters and they gave us complimentary Seafood Bread. The Raw Oysters came with Tabasco, a marinara sauce, and ginger-wasabi. It tasted fresh and tasted best paired with Tabasco, marinara, and a hint of lemon, but the ginger-wasabi had too much kick. Though every bite of the Seafood Bread was great, it's very oily and heavy. We'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Not bad. Seems reasonably priced. Friendly people. We did the meal for two bucket. I'd go back.

I do like the dry rub season seafood boils . The rub is too oily for my liking. It is pricey. Service was always good.

Very good place! Good flavors too. A bit on the pricier side but it's seafood! Definitely recommend it!

Expensive without great quality. Good service. The fly around our table was annoying.

I usually don't leave reviews without eating the food, but I just couldn't get past everything that went wrong before that. 1. They were out of just about everything "which can be good sometimes." But this was in a bad way. Like they just didn't order anything. The guy who took our order was extremely nice, but he kept his cooking gloves on the whole time he took our order, and handled our money. Then another guy came out of the back in a tank top that was completely stained and looked filthy. In fact the entire place looked dingy and disgusting. The soda was completely out at the machine, and the carpet in front of the machine was so sticky it pulled off my wife's shoe!!! We asked for a refund because we just weren't feeling it, and the guy gave us a refund and was extremely apologetic... I gave them two stars because we didn't eat there otherwise they would have gotten a zero strictly for their lack of cleanliness and lack of supplies. They really need to be on the ball since another soul food place opened not far from them and is way better.

Out of the fryer, they dust the fish with some blend of seasonings, that's fairly flavorful. My personal preference would be to have it applied heavier...or possibly have a second option...to dust your fish with a Cajun or cyan based seasoning. The fish is cut in strips; I assume to be able to cook faster. And the fish is cooked quite a bit; I'd like less fry time. But no matter; the fish is still quite good cooked as it is. - Fries: These are a base Kringle cut fries. They cook these more...which I like the doneness level of their fries. - Dipping sauces: Their tartar sauce is a homemade tartar. Fresh pickles chopped up and added in the sauce. And a fair amount of dill...all make for a smoother tasting tartar. The second sauce....not sure how to describe this one....but a slightly smokey....nice second option of a dipping sauce. If the owners want a humble suggestion: I would suggest having a second side with the combo meal. Why? For $12 price of the combo, it would be a better value. But the other big advantage of the second side: It would help cut all the fried taste, from the fish and fries. Further suggestion: Look up the Neely sweet and spicy cole slaw recipe on the Food Network. Overall, I give these folks kudos for their efforts. Working out of food truck...not always easy to turn out great food in small quarters. But....these folks are doing it well!
