We were in the area visiting with our daughter and son-in-law and when told them we wanted seafood for dinner, they strongly suggested we go to Kravers after I suggested Kravers and one other seafood place. So Kravers it is - and we were glad we followed their suggestion! The place appeared to be packed, based on the number of cars parked around the restaurant. We had no trouble finding a place to park and when we went inside, our daughter and her husband were already seated. The atmosphere was lively, although not overly noisy. We had different entrees from the menu and they were all delicious! Our server was very good and answered any questions my wife and I had. My daughter and son-in-law love the Royal Reds - the crown jewel of Gulf shrimp and that's what they ordered. I ordered some crab claws as an appetizer and they were excellent. My wife ordered the Sutchi (a white fish) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a combo platter of fish and shrimp. All the food was cooked perfectly - whether steamed, grilled or fried - and it came out nice and hot. The sides were excellent as well. We have loved Kravers for years!! Great service, delicious seafood, always a treat. Tonight was our first "take out experience ", and it was great! We are blessed!! Kravers is only a mile from our house!! They offer the best, freshly caught (by them) seafood around. Our favorite is the Fried Tail on Shrimp. Great broiled seafood, gumbo everything we have ever eaten. Love their slaw too. A MUST read more

We have been at this restaurant several times, but today was not very good. The fish was average at best with wilted lettuce and mushy tomatoes. The fries were OK and the onion rings were very salty. On the positive side, the waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing. I guess it all depends on what you get whether this place is good to eat or not today it was a not! read more

Just had dinner at Kravers. Saturday night 6:30. Hubs got the large fried catfish with hush puppies, okra and fries. It was piping hot , crispy and delicious! Cole slaw was good, okra was hot and crispy also! I decided on the catfish with hush puppies, blackened shrimp and substituted a salad for my fries. The catfish was excellent, the blackened shrimp had just a little kick and the salad was fresh and colorful. We started with onion rings ( that were awesome) so when the food arrived there was no way to eat all of it!!! Very generous portions! Lunch tomorrow will be fabulous. Our server was Lauren and she was on her game. The service was outstanding- so much so I complemented her to the manager. This was out 4th visit and we will continue to patronize this restaurant. Great local joint to grab lunch or dinner. The Royal Reds are delicious! Everything on the menu is good! Love their house salad and crab cakes. My son loves their chicken strips. I dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon! I waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I was called by the hostess/manager once my table was ready! The service was outstanding. I was greeted by my name! I ordered the crab cakes with coleslaw, green beans, and 2 hushpuppies. I added a side salad with Italian dressing. I was informed they make their own ranch but I don't like ranch. The side salad was good portion size. Nothing fancy about the lettuce. The 2 crab cakes were small but filling. Tasty moist crab cakes with a good amount of crab. The green beans seemed to be canned and doctored up with bacon. The coleslaw was better this time than the first time I tried it. Yes, most if not all restaurants are currently closed to dining in, but with Kraevers you can still get a delicious restaurant meal to-go. My wife and I will continue to support our great local restaurants...and this is a great one. Tonight we had the family (serves up to 4) combination of crab legs, shrimp, potatoes and corn. More food than we could eat by ourselves in a single meal. It was delicious...and the leftover shrimp will be great in Jambalaya tomorrow. read more

The food is served fresh out the fryer, if fried, it's warm and crisp. Just good 'old old school seafood. You also have choices for grilled , steamed or broiled depending on the protein. Tonight we were seated right away and Wendi showed up to take our drink orders. Very friendly and took note of our needs before we asked. We both had the Fried Shrimp Baskets and a cup of their seafood gumbo. All great and served piping hot. Even though we were full, we varied off the reservation and ordered a slice of their French Silk Chocolate Pie to-go for sharing later at home. That pie is delicious! We'll make that mistake again...and often! As for the restaurant, it's clean and a great place to gather with family and friends. Our party of four dined here for lunch. We were on vacation and happened upon this place when we were driving around. It will definitely be on our return list. A table of locals at the table next to us. encouraged us to try the fried green tomatoes and we can't wait to order those again when we are back in town this summer.We felt everything was reasonably priced and the quality exceeded our expectations. They mean small. 6 or maybe 7 TINY oysters. They were good I guess but hard to find in the breading. Everyone else really enjoyed their food. I wish I'd ordered something else. The oysters were market price and since I didn't pay I don't know how much they were, but whatever it was it wasn't worth it. Service was good and fast. Waitress was attentive. Don't get me wrong I love Kraver's it's my Father in Law's favorite but it's on the Alabama coast which is a seafood Mecca . My only complaint is they don't serve different fish and oyster dishes . I wish they'd update their menu. No flounder, Snapper, Grouper etc.... read more

The food and service was great! The only problem we had is my wife ordered blackened shrimp and they brought out fried shrimp. They took it back and fixed with no problem.
