We go here for brunch evert couple of weeks. The portions are on the bigger side, but not HUGE. The coffee is decent. The menu is pretty good, lots of options. Overall, it's a pretty good brunch spot. Service is slow sometimes, but not a deal breaker. I'd give them a try! I used to go every weekend for breakfast, as it's one of the only places in the area that serves past 11 AM. But after today, I don't plan to ever return. It's gone downhill to the point of no return. Burnt bacon and toast. Dry french toast. And for some ridiculous reason, they've decided to go with frozen (under cooked) potato cubes in lieu of the real red potato home fries they used to have. And today, I found a green one within the pile. I should've asked for my money back, but the waitstaff has always been nice and helpful, and I didn't want to put them out. Fantastic experience at this restaurant! I went here with a friend a few weeks ago and we both ordered burgers and hand cut fries. The atmosphere was comfortable and extremely family-friendly, and the service was prompt. When the food arrived, there it was a generous portion, and nothing short of absolutely delicious. If I hadn't eaten beforehand, I definitely would have been able to eat all of it. All in all, my friend and I both had an amazing experience here. I usually don't complain, but it really was not good at all. I ordered spinach and artichoke dip it didn't taste too good like it was frozen prior or something and it had spots in it that were cold. I sent it back. I then ordered the breakfast wrap with hash browns. Everything was so greasy it just tasted like grease . I barely ate the wrap and the hash browns had nooo flavor just tasted like grease . I added salt and pepper but it just didn't work. Came here 3 years ago when passing through and had our first ever lobster roll, so had to return when back in the area again. Went on a Saturday night and were seated right away because it wasn't busy. We waiting about 10 minutes before a server came over to the table saying, "do you want to put the whole order in then I'll bring drinks over?" No "hi" or even her name. Food was incredibly bland. Grilled prime rib and cheese has absolutely no flavor, the beef wasn't seasoned at all, may as well not of been in the sandwich. We each only ate half and filled up on fries, boxed the leftover sandwiches then ended up tossing them at home. Crap service and seriously underwhelming food. If I could give no stars I would. We ordered through door dash tonight and the only thing good about our order was the delivery driver. We order a wrap, a grilled cheese off of the sandwhich menu and a cup and a bowl of clam chowder. Everything was ice cold. Literally tasted like it was made yesterday. The grilled cheese had two small slices of cheese and the cheese wasn't even melted. Nor was the bread toasted. We ordered a steak wrap that was dry and had no flavor at all. I had a cup of chowder and my husband ordered a bowl. The "bowl" of chowder was filled with the same amount of chowder that was in the cup. The bowl was almost $7 bucks and was only filled half way or the equivalent of a cup. There was not a single clam or potato in either the bowl or cup. I won't order from this place again. Went for lunch today with my granddaughter and the shrimp was bad. Ordered the seafood platter to split. As soon as it arrived my 9 yr old granddaughter said that it smelt funny. So then I smelt it and she was right it snelt like bad shrimp. We didnt eat the shrimp, buf it spoiled the smell of the plate. When I mentioned it to the waiter he acknowledged the smell after he took our plate. He then replied with your right it didn't smell right. He proceeded to take $5 of ths bill. Went to Jake's yesterday for breakfast with my wife and kids. My wife had the special corned beef hash (real corned beef, not that canned looking stuff) with three eggs - she special ordered to get those three eggs done as a veggie omelet and they complied. My boys both had pancakes with bacon and I had two eggs with wheat toast. THE PORTIONS WERE ENORMOUS!!! Really gigantic. The food was terrific, and the pricing was similar to what we would pay at Friendly's - except that, and I think I mentioned this - the food was terrific. Service was average, but pleasant. They do have a TV in the main dining area - I actually could live without that, since we don't watch TV normally while we're eating, but heck, it's Jake's restaurant and he can do as he darn well pleases. We've had lunch here several times in the past, and never been disappointed, even when Jake (I'm guessing there's a guy named Jake there, I never have asked) decides to experiment with the soups and chili. Bottom Line - If you go to Jake's you will not be disappointed. They serve all of the food you'd expect (breakfast = eggs, toast, hash, coffee, and pancakes, etc, lunch = burgers, sandwiches, soups) and now they serve beer (yeah!), again distancing themselves in a very positive way from a more famous chain (rhymes with "endly's") up the road that has completely lost its way . Jake's seems to have a pretty good ice cream business too - as I see crowds of people there after kid's athletics games - so I'm guessing that their ice cream is pretty good, too. Eat here. Went here on a Friday night close to 8pm. We waited for less than 5 minutes and then seated. Our waitress was nice and everyone around seemed like they we're genuinely interested in being there. We ordered and it probably took about 20-25 minutes to get our food. It wasn't too busy of a night so I was kind of wondering why the service was so slow. No one in my party got a meal that took a ton of time to prepare. We got our food and I ordered the shrimp with a side baked potato and side salad. The side salad never came (ended up still on the bill, but waitress took off after we told her), the shrimp were just okay, really nothing special to them. I probably could have made better, which is pathetic for a place that puts seafood in their description. Other meals were good and no complaints. Giving it 3 stars because I want to go back to try it again, and because of the slow service. I did look at their drink menu and prices are REALLY reasonable. read more

I visited the restaurant on Friday morning with three other people. While my brother-in-law and sisters-in-law raved about their food, my experience was very different. I am vegan. I checked out the website and was happy to note that almond milk was available. Coffee and a bagel seemed like a viable option. I even brought my own vegan cream cheese. I asked our server - who was wonderful - if I could get home fries cooked in oil rather than butter. Not a problem, I was assured. The long and the short of it? There was no almond milk available, so my breakfast beverage was tepid tea with lemon. The only potatoes available were already on the grill, in butter. I've been here three or four times. My service has been less than stellar. You wait. Wait for staff. Wait for drinks. Wait for food. The food is decent. Nothing to write home about. I ordered a chopped salad, either they don't know what the word chop means or they just think any old salad items go into a "chopped" salad. A chopped salad is a different salad than let's say a garden salad. My son enjoyed his fried seafood and the portion for my other child kids menu choice was good. I hate to point it out but the time I've been here all the tables around me have had a problem with their order. Wrong orders, missing side, lagging response to requests. The manager and waiter made fun of a lady when she left when she didn't get the right order and complained her chopped salad was anything but chopped. I felt her pain. The only thing Krazy about this place is me going back again after I had a horrible experience years ago. It was the only place around that didn't have a line waiting so we gave it a try. I should of turned around right when I walked in and seen the old lady in the kitchen with no mask on furiously battering fish, and looking over at every new customer coming in with utter contempt for human life. I could only imagine what she was mumbling under her breath. We were seated right away. The server was real nice, and from there the waiting began. The interior being less than half full, we expected fast service. Drinks took about ten minutes to come out. We ordered pulled pork nachos that came out in a decent time. We had an impatient four year old with us that just wanted French fries. After waiting and waiting, and getting pissed off, and our kid getting crazy, and still no food. It had to be close to 40 minutes. Our waitress disappeared for some time, and when she came back we said we were done and cancelled our order. She got the manager, who came out and said our food was basically ready, but didn't have it with her. We assured her we were done, paid bill, and left. Never, never again! read more

I just discovered Krazy Jake's and am very impressed. The atmosphere is very comfortable and clean. We sat at the counter and watched, mouths watering, as all the food was being prepared. I had a burger with onion rings. Both were excellent. The burger was cooked to perfection and the rings were the best I have ever had, light and flakey, cut fresh and batter dipped in front of us. The dipping sauce for the onion rings is fantastic. They have an extensive menu sure to please everyone. I can't wait to go back and try something else along with the onion rings! read more

We waited for our menus and we waited for a waitress to take our order and we waited to get our ice cream but all we got was the bill. The waitress went by and dropped the bill off without asking where our ice creams were. It took a total of about 25 minutes and we left without getting our order nor being asked if everything was ok. Today we went for breakfast. It was packed and people waiting for tables were sitting at the counter. We were willing to sit at the counter but the manager totally ignored us and since there was no space at the counter we once again left. My boyfriend and I discovered Krazy Jake's a few months back after a friend recommended it, and we have made it a point to come back on a very regular basis ever since. No other place in this area can boast such a large selection of food and such good quality. They have typical bar fare like wings, casual diner food like sandwiches and homemade specials, as well as great, fresh seafood. And they have an ice cream window! The service is great and it has this familiar diner feel with the staff and regulars. Definitely a family friendly restaurant and I strongly recommend! Way overpriced now for our family! We stopped going to Jake's. Despite fairly good service and average food, their prices are now ridiculous for the mid-range food they offer. For example, if you order: - 5 mozzarella sticks (appetizer) are $5.50 (over $1 per stick?!) and this is their CHEAPEST appetizer... - a CUP of clam chowder is now $4.00 - 1 plain, average size HOT DOG is $4.00 - all sides are extra so add $3.50 for french fries ($2.50 if you order them with your $4.00 hot dog) - a cup of coffee is $1.50 So, if you order an appetizer, cup of soup, a hot dog with a side order of french fries & coffee you will pay = $15.00 (and that does not include tax & tip) Mind you, this is not fine dining.
