Tried Krazy Jake's for the LAST time. We waited almost 20 minutes to place our orders, had to wait another 30 minutes for delivery and then waiter told us the Mac and cheese side would be out "soon". We were finished with our meal before the waiter checked back with us and finally delivered the Mac and cheese to my friend. Waiter stopped by again and asked if we were interested in dessert. We said yes. He walked away and 25 minutes later delivered the dessert menus, at which point we left. Honestly I don't know how they stay in business with service issues like this. Legitimately shocked this place has gotten so few stars. My husband I go to Krazy Jake's fairly often and we're both huge fans. Not to mention it's always packed! The nachos are great, patty melts are amazing, the jake's philly steak sub is to die for - highly recommended with a side of the hand cut fries. The menu is huge but we usually stick to the burgers or melts when we go - they're too good to switch it up! However, I have heard the seafood is really good and when I've seen people order crab legs they look like the real deal. Service has always been good for us. Friendly servers, some younger, some older. Overall the environment is relaxed and they do a good job at making you feel comfortable and at home. Prices are cheap to reasonable depending on what you get. Two patty melts with fries (very large portions for adults, mind you!) will run you about 20-25 bucks. read more

Stopped in as new customers and we left satisfied. The hot lobster roll, fried haddock and fried clams were all excellent. The hand cut fries and onion rings are homemade and delicious. Will never ever go back, friday night I went there with some friends. Expected a large crowd for such a big place and it was absolutely dead, save for some older folk and the wait staff. The staff grade B- our waitress, an short Asian woman, was a bit shy, offered burgers to be classified only as "well done" Burgers can be cooked from anything to medium to well done! Food: f- or lower. I'm not even going to bother capitalizing that f because of how bad the food was. 2 of us received burgers once the burgers were bitten into they looked bone dry and were about as hard as shoe leather. The toppings cold or luke warm. It's pretty bad when 4 friends decide to make a quick stop for a BETTER burger at wendys As for one of my friends he ordered a salad which was then told that...that they ran out of ICEBERG LETTUCE! Who the hell runs out of iceberg lettuce first of all!?! second of all LETTUCE IS LETTUCE! A customer isn't going to complain about it if they didn't specifically ask for it. It's a salad I didn't think you could mess it up! The drinks were very watered down I had 2 ginger ale that night and I could've sworn that it was either coke/sprite mixed together or just really flat. The waitress then to my dismay brought me out another soda with out asking me if i wanted another. My meal was an $18 Shrimp clam pot, that, A) was way too expensive, and B) The meat from the shellfish was bone FUCKING dry. Do you know what kind of butter they served it with...MOVIE OIL "BUTTER" what made it some what bearable was that I was given a little square of butter that I had to mix into the oil to get the full buttery goodness. C) the clam pot was not served in the pot that it was cooked in which if you go to any seafood restaurant would tell you that serving it any other way is a no-no. How come restaurants go down hill? I liked Krazy Jake's when it opened up. They were not busy at all. When we arrived, "someone else took your reservation" was part of our greeting. The kitchen was very slow. Our orders came out between forty five minutes to an hour after they were placed and they didn't even come out all at once. I'm not saying here that your order came out at a different time as mine did, I'm saying that my mashed potatoes came out after the plate was served because they were not ready. Others in our party experienced the same thing. My son's buffalo wings were cold also. I don't thin it is the same place I visited even a year ago. I know that this place is popular with the local folk, but I have tried it 2 times and unless I had a big group of kids or something (when quantity and cost concerns trump quality) I will not go back. How many ways can you say "barely passable?" I went for lunch first. The fries were frozen and soggy. The fried fish sandwich was completely disappointing. It seemed like a frozen breaded fish filet with a small slice of unripe tomato and a hank of limp iceburg. For breakfast, they advertise their "homemade hash." I was so excited for my Irish Benedict! The hash is made of luncheon meat corned beef (and even that was not plentiful) and microwaved potatoes. Yuck! My poached eggs, which I specifically ordered "very soft" were practically hard boiled. And I believe the hollandaise came from a mix. The coffee was weak and distasteful as well. The only positive here is the staff and location. This place is 0 for 2 with me. They have decent food in the tradition of diner fare but their service is awful; worse than I have experienced anywhere -- and I've experienced it here twice. I went over the summer with my wife and we thought the waitress forgot about us and I finally had to complain to the hostess, whom had seated us nearby to her station. How did she not notice that nobody had come over? How did she forget to assign us to a waitress when we were seated so close to her? We waited a total of 30 minutes just to get a drink order in. Nobody was terribly apologetic, just a simple "The hostess is new". That's not an excuse for being oblivious. I didn't bother "reviewing it" then because I took it as a one-off issue. Today we went as a larger group of 5 and a toddler and experienced a nearly hour wait for what was essentially burgers and wings. Anyone with a toddler will tell you how easy it is to keep one entertained a table for an hour. Luckily, I had brought some snacks and toys for her. The table behind us was loudly complaining about the ridiculous wait time and threatened to leave. They must have hurried and tossed something together because they brought out ONE out of the three orders for that table. If I know anything about running a restaurant, it is in extremely poor taste to not deliver all the meals at once. Then you have one person eating with guilt and while everyone else is irritated. That doesn't make for a good experience. They need to correct that. Once the other table was complaining, the waitress kept coming over to us and apologizing for our wait and said "I think they're putting it on the plate now!" "We're really backed up!". The restaurant was seated to 50% capacity. Where is this back-up? It must have taken 20 minutes to toss this stuff on a plate because they brought OURS out in three trips, starting 45 minutes from when we placed the order, all about 5 minutes apart. You've got to be kidding me. That's wicked tacky!!! Again, you have 1/3 of your party with plates and everyone else checking their watch. My son ordered wings and they were last thing on the table -- they were ice cold. I don't mean "lukewarm". I mean they were clearly cooked a half an hour ago and left on a counter. I questioned how it was possible that it was the last thing out when it was obviously the first thing made. They took them back to re-make them. We experienced another stupid amount of waiting to get them back out again. You'd think it would have been pushed to the front of the line. We finally had to get his stuff to go. The manager came out and tried to make nice (and removed the wings from the bill), but the fact of the matter is this: I've been there twice and left annoyed twice. I won't go back. Wilbraham has other restaurants I could choose from when I'm in that area. This is not a well run restaurant and they obviously have organization issues that will be the death of their business if not addressed. I can see from other reviews, this is not isolated to only me. The food was actually pretty decent. Everything did come out accurate and true to description. I got the Sam Adams Burger and I thought it was great. I tried one of my son's wings and I could see how one could get hooked on them. To be clear, it was not busy when this occurred. It was 1:30PM on a Saturday and there were open tables when we placed our order. I counted at least SEVEN people working in that kitchen (which is opened to view in the restaurant). How does it go so wrong? They should probably stick to ice cream on picnic tables in the summer. Running a full service restaurant has proven overwhelming. read more

Hit Krazy Jake's for breakfast recently. Sat at the counter. Service was fine....not too nice, not too surly. We tried omelettes which were nicely prepared but lacking in the flavor department. Coffee was standard diner coffee. It was totally drinkable just black, so that ain't bad. Bacon, which fuels my life, was sadly terrible....I'm guessing it was cheap bacon because the taste was just not right. With so many options in the area, I'd be hard pressed to return to Jake's for breakfast. I hear the ice cream is good, as well as mixed drinks....maybe another shot down the road. read more

We've given this place chance after chance and we are almost always disappointed. Poor service most of the time, poorly trained staff, very unprofessional greeters. The only staff member who seems to be busting his butt and truly seems to care is on fry duty..and it shows. The only thing I'll eat there anymore is the freshly prepared chicken tenders. If your looking for fast great quality food this is the place. Burgers are delicious and juicy but what steals the show is their fresh onion rings. They are flaky fresh and made to order. We went in today for lunch. My wife likes their shrimp tacos. I tried the crab cakes, they bear no resemblance or taste of crab cakes. I was shocked that they would serve these. Surely the person preparing these has had crab cakes before and should know how they are supposed to be cooked, maybe not. Anyway, I also ordered the fish and chips which were pretty good. I've eaten there 3 times in the past couple months. The plates are huge portions and the prices very reasonable for value. Krazy Jake's does an awesome job with fried foods - onion rings are top notch! I wasn't impressed by the bison burger but love the hamburgers (both 3 and 8 oz). Their lobster bisque is full of flavor with real lobster. The clam chowder is good too! Another nice thing is their beverages. The frappe is made with real ice cream - very yummy! Also, they don't skimp on the margaritas or other summer beverages. One was plenty for me as I felt the effects even after eating a full meal! The manager was visible through the dining area area, making it a point to say hello to the customers. Waitstaff are very pleasant and responsive. But this area is the reason for 4 not 5 stars because since their expansion (less than 1 month) they are less visible than when the tables were sandwiched together previously. I've been to Krazy Jake's on multiple occasions for ice cream and several occasions to eat inside the restaurant. For the ice cream: I've gotten ice cream here too many times to count and love it. You order from the window outside and they have many different flavor options. They have mostly hard ice cream but also soft serve and frozen yogurt. They have special sundaes, milk shakes, and other ice cream treats. What I love so much about their ice cream is that they have many different flavors that I can't find anywhere else. Some of my favorite ice cream flavors are: strawberry cheesecake, bubblegum, cotton candy, coconut almond bar and mint moose tracks. The strawberry cheesecake brownie sundae is very tasty too! They even have milk shakes for adults, that include alcohol. Their prices for ice cream are slightly higher than normal but their portions are large so it evens out. For the restaurant and food: I have eaten inside the restaurant on several different occasions and my family members have gone even more. Every time I went was on a weekend for dinner, usually around 5:30 PM. I really like the make-your-own burger option (you select the burger size and toppings) and that's usually what I get but I have also gotten haddock and a steak grinder. I didn't order any alcoholic drinks so I can't comment on that. I usually sit in the back, near the bar and the bartender often waits on the tables around the bar. The bartender/server was amazing and I didn't see her stop moving once. She was constantly moving and checking all her tables, as well as tending the bar. She was very friendly and knew everything about the food. The food was served quickly and very hot. The burgers, haddock and grinder were all tasty and would recommend any of them. I should add that the portion sizes were very large. My grinder was so large that I could barely eat half of it and ended up bringing most of it home. For the haddock, I ordered the small portion and I couldn't even finish eating that either. The prices are average and the food is definitely worth it. Overall, I would recommend Krazy Jake's to anyone looking for standard American fare. The restaurant can get pretty busy at certain times so if you're impatient, you may want to go early. read more

I normally don't have very high standards for takeout windows, but this place wasn't even close. Apparently part of the fun here is guessing which part of your order will be missing or incorrect, because several people in our group received something other than what they ordered. They didn't get my order wrong, but I wish they had, I got soft serve in a dish, and it was grainy and almost inedible. Another fairly minor pet peeve is that the menu above the window doesn't give any prices. I would expect this from a five star French restaurant, not from a roadside ice cream takeout window, where knowing prices is actually helpful in deciding what to get. To top it off, the outdoor seating area smelled of raw sewage. Like, Bondi's Island on a hot summer day when the wind shifts in your direction sort of raw sewage smell. Since this was my first time here, I don't know if this is a regular occurrence or an anomaly, but I don't plan on coming back to find out. read more

Arrived to find it busy so we sat at the counter. That's both good and bad. The good - we were waited on promptly. The bad - we listened to a lot of complaints at the register with one couple walking out after waiting 40 minutes for their order. Then we watched our waffle sit on the pass for 10 minutes while they made the rest of the order. When we commented to the waitress she said "its stays hot up there under the lights" instead of offering to get a new one. Last straw was watching a server with dirty blond hair and a beauty mark on her cheek blow her nose, then wipe her fingers under her nose - then pick some sliced lemons from a container and put them in a glass of water - all without washing her hands! This is just for the ice cream. Went here after a swim meet hoping to get a nice treat with my daughter. We both like hard ice cream but their menu really only lists sundaes and you need to ask about ice cream by the scoop and they only had sugar and plain cones. It was $3.50 for a tiny scoop of crappy cheap ice cream. The locals all say this is where they go. I feel bad for them. If I had to guess it was Hershey's ice cream. Its the worst and for 3.50 a scoop it was a rip off. They should just shut down their ice cream window and stick to food. Also take some pride in your place and clean the trash cans. They were filthy and covered in melted ice cream what seemed like days worth. If I had to guess i bet the food is overrated too. read more

I discovered Jake's about a year and a half ago. I go there several times a week since. Their food is consistently good, their servers are very good.
