True confessions: I prefer a few other fried seafood places in Dennis and Brewster and Hyannis. But when in Chatham, Kream N' Kone does the job. We had a large group of 8 this past Saturday of Memorial Weekend. After a busy day of tennis and biking and beach walking, no one wanted to cook. A quick call in to Kream N' Kone for take out. Ready in less than a half hour for eating on our own house deck. With our stash of soft drinks and beers already chilling. One person who truly avoids fried food had a delicious broiled fish and salad. The rest of us went for it. Fried shrimp, clams, whole belly clams, scallops, fish n chips. All the platters come with bountiful mounds of fried and onion rings. While I am always a whole belly clams fan, must say I was quite impressed with the scallops too. A lot of food. Everyone should over do it with Cape Cod fried seafood at least twice a summer. K N' K was super for our large group take out feast. read more

I have been coming to this place for 30 years now. The decor and menu seems to be frozen in time, which can sometimes be comforting at a vacation destination. This place is a teeny bit pricey, but it's a really great family friendly restaurant and fairly affordable. If you have little kids in tow, this is a great non-pretentious place to bring them to. There are seating options on the covered patio and inside the restaurant. Almost all of the items in this establishment are fairly greasy, but BOY what a treat. I highly recommend the onion rings. Make sure you have some Prevacid or Tums on you for afterwards. There is a limited menu of ice cream items. I recommend a chocolate frappe with malted milk, they are delicious and my family's favorite. The service was great! I'm not sure if my experience with the food is because i come from the south, or if anyone else shares my experience but i got the fried haddock and it was not the best flavor. When visiting Cape Cod on our annual family trip, we always stop by at this location in Chatham. We learned a few years ago that they make gluten-free seafood at this specific location after 4pm and they are accommodating to that crowd. When we arrived, my wife who is a celiac and is allergic to other items mentioned what they were as we placed our order. Also, our young son has allergies and so we mentioned his allergies when ordering hotdogs for him. The manager of this location looked up ingredients, explained how they would cook, fry, or microwave the items that my wife and son would eat, with no cross contamination and accommodated us nicely while working under pressure in a storm of orders and multiple customers. She is a rockstar!! The staff here are also very accommodating and friendly and made sure we were taken care of. We ended up having a great dinner that night and everyone in our family was happy. read more

Right in the new rotary in west Chatham, job lot right there too, location and access ideal. Seafood in this location couldnt be more fresh, wish the fry oil was a bit hotter for more crisp and less soggy clam action. I love a firm stiff clam and I could only get a mid soggy clam this afternoon. I would still go back and give it a roll. Bathrooms were open, clean, and after the fried seafood needed to access the stall with great success. No toilet seat cover but made my own and would recommend. Disappointed in the ice kream or lack there of as they only had artificially flavored soft serve on a kone and no actually ice cream. They did a good job on not burning the hot dog, but is a hot dog really a sandwich?! I stopped in to eat lunch with 2 kids aged 5 years and 20 months and my wife, forever aged 25 :) It was an enjoyable experience. This is a family restaurant. You order at the counter and then sit down, they call your number and you go up to receive your ordered food. Basically "eat-in-the-rough" style. I ordered the clam plate. I prefer small bellied clams and this time around, this is exactly what I got. They were delicious. The fries and onion rings were great too. Always our first stop for dinner when we come to the cape. My Mom loved this place so we come back here to remember the good old days. We love the onion rings, and they give a generous amount of fries. For three people we get the fisherman platter (haddock, shrimp, classic, scallops) and a half order of scallops on the side and it is plenty. This place was AWESOME, dont let the empty parking lot fool you. This is where the locals eat and get it to go... The food is so fresh and comes out hot. I had the Fisherman platter which had the best clams I have ever eaten, the haddock cooked perfectly. We eat at Petes Point the night before and man if I had know about Kream N Kone I wouldn't have waisted my money on Petes Point. I like saving money on not having a waitress and waiting for them to come fill my water glass.. at Kream N Kone you just fill it up when you need it. Love this place. read more

Went in because it was the only place we could find on a cold day for ice cream and I wanted to treat my aunt, kids and grandma to some. The ice cream was fine but pretty sure the guy knew I was from out of town so he charged me double! I was too distracted by my kids and fighting my aunt and grandma off from paying to take notice. Later when I realized what he had done I knew I needed to post so others who went would be aware. I will not be coming back when I visit again. Sad that someone would do that to a visitor. read more

I don't know how to describe their fried seafood - it's somehow both light and greasy haha This meal will fill you up - I think the fried shrimp platter had a dozen decent-sized shrimp (tail-less, yay!) plus fries and onion rings. We had 5 adults and 3 kids on a recent Saturday night...arrived around 6:15 and waited....dinner for all was over $100 (so it is expensive), but it was great. 5 stars for the food - fresh, locally caught seafood fried to order perfectly - not too greasy, not overcooked, not over or under-breaded, and served in large portions. i wouldn't change a thing about the food itself. it's just too expensive. atmosphere is fast casual. service is quick and curt, which is perfect. they offer wine and craft beer, which should have tipped me off. other than than that, beverage selection is limited - coke products, period. an iced tea carafe or something would have been good. fountain is customer side, so free refills. they offer soft serve and frappes if you're into that. lemons aren't cheap right now, but i would have loved an option to have a slice of lemon to squeeze over my fish. if you are not particularly price sensitive, this is an excellent place to get some properly cooked, fresh caught seafood fast, without the frills of a higher-end setting. just keep in mind you are not going to be paying fast casual prices. read more

They have frying food down to a science. Fast, friendly, and they serve beer. What's not to like? This is a Great family run local establishment. This used to be great for their gluten free breading. Maybe pre-pandemic it was excellent but recently they changed and the GF coating is now heavy and over cooked looking. I've approached them twice and they say "no change" but having been gluten free for many years I know a good coating when I taste it. So this was my second try this year to see if something was off the first time but the same result - not as good as before so I guess I'm done!! I live in Mashpee so it is a hike for seafood but when I'm on outer cape this was my favorite GF place. read more

FATASS!) for me and I have no idea what my fiance got because I was too excited stuffing my face like barnyard animal. I also got a bud light draft. I've never gotten a bud light in my life and I don't normally get draft beer. I guess I was feeling crazy that day because I bought two. I'm a cheap bastard, too. A Kape Klassic, offering fried seafood, lobster rolls and burgers. The portions are ginormous and tasty too. Was treated to a meal by the in-laws for the mom-in-laws bday. While the majority of the group go the fried clams (bellies and all because strips are for people who don't know any better), I opted for a scallop and calamari combo. All platters come with a big portion of fries and full helping of onion rings. Onion rings are done the correct way. Thinly slice, light battered and fried to perfection. The fries are okay too. Not too think. The batter for the fried protein remained crisp and flavorful. Sealed in and added to the fresh seafood flavor, without being overly greasy. The place is a bit pricey, but worth the visit. Large covered patio for outdoor dining which just adds to the experience. read more

They have all kinds of fried and broiled seafood, burgers, and hot dogs.... as well as around 30 flavors of soft serve ice cream. My friend was tickled pink with her clam chowder and broiled haddock (served with rice and cold slaw). I enjoyed my dish of cream de menthe ice cream. Vanilla ice cream was blended in a machine with the flavoring syrup and then pumped out all swirly into my dish. It could have been creamier, but it was satisfying nonetheless. read more

What a shame! (Or should I say sham) What was once a Cape institution is now just a gross imitation of what it once was. Turns out it was sold a few years back and has been under new ownership since then. What was once fresh (seafood, burgers, chowder) is now frozen, cafeteria quality food....but still priced like its fresh. Clam chowder is watery with suspect quality clams. Burgers are more gristle than meat (definitely not the classic 80/20 mix). Curly fries, mozzarella sticks, chx fingers and onion rings are greasy and lack flavor. To be fair, service was good. Was a busy night and my takeout was ready promptly. Still, we won't be back...very, very disappointing. PS - if you want tremendous FRESH clam chowder, go to the Chatham fish pier, see the seals and enjoy the best Chowder we've ever had!! read more

Gotta say, best Gluten Free Fried fish I ever had. It's an ultra casual, booth picnic table type of place and you would think it was a Dairy Queen, the ice cream is good as well. Fried, reasonably fast food at its best! We had a bunch of different meals and the food all tasted good. They even sell beer here! Cape Cod Red!! The service at the counter is capably handled by kids working summer jobs. They are friendly enough. There is also ice cream for when you are done - if you saved room after the large portions. They give you a TON of fries with the meals. They offer a bunch, more than 20, flavored of soft serve ice cream. The blueberry and watermelon are delicious!! read more

The food here was subpar. I had the Lobster Roll plate and my husband had the Fish and Chips. The Lobster was not well prepared and full of mayo. The onion rings were incredibly greasy despite being lightly breaded. The Haddock was also poorly done. This is definitely more like fast food, despite the prices. After dinner we both ordered soft serve ice cream. It was about what you would expect. I would recommend Chatham Fish and Chips for a more fast food type Seafood location. read more
