    Steamers....

So... I have been stopping in numerous times per week, during our yearly vacations... Anyone that says anything negative about the food, you are out of your mind... Everything i have had there is really fantastic... Small bar, menu is small, but food is really top notch.... No fried food (deep frier food) . All broiled and or sautéed... Steak tips- awesome and yes they are marinated and cooked perfectly... Michelle reccomended the Quahogs..... oh my goodness.... Clam chowder was better than most fancy resturants... and we took it home (take out) still better than some fancier resturants... Twice this week, I had the steamers, at the bar... always fantastic... Anyone who disagrees, I have no idea what you are talking about... Years of constantly is what make ls a place great.... Not your one time when you are cranky and the place is super busy on a friday in July... and are the type of person that is never happy... this place is a gem... Although, I have been there during the busy times, waited and it always was fantastic... A place would not be in buisiness as long as they were, if they were not putting out a quality product... Can't wait till next year, or maybe tomorrow... U am so sorry, we forgot to take pics of our food... But I do have pics of my steamers from the last couple days.....

The best "stumbled into" of Cape Cod. 10/10 recommend their lobster roll and the salad. No frills because they're not needed. Eat inside and enjoy the locals or take a 8 min walk to the beach and enjoy the view. Can't say better things about this place.

Love this! Never saw someone be so creative with a ceiling fan!

We recently stayed down the road from The Wooden Shoe and the owners of the cottage we were renting had recommended it. It was nice to experience a more local spot than a lot of the busier touristy restaurants. We enjoyed their clam chowder, steamers and crab cakes with lobster bisque on top. Definitely wish we have a lobster roll since it was raves about on here so much and the pictures looked amazing. Next time!

Good lobster roll! The large was $39 (small was $28) which is pretty standard for the cape. Our lobster roll had more shredded meat than chunks and could have used more seasoning, but overall you get a TON of fresh lobster for a decent price.

Excellent lobster rolls, chowder, and steak tips! Very reasonable prices. A hidden gem on the cape!

Best lobster roll hands down. I get a large one and split it with my husband and still have some leftover to bring home.

While trying things on the menu I was happy to pick the shrimp tacos. They were perfectly cooked with pico, cotija cheese, and siracha aioli. The crust on the batter was flaky and light. Not a heavy batter and it didn't overpower the flavor of the shrimp. The shrimp tacos are not gluten free and they have a minimal amount of gluten-free options available. Most of their sandwiches have a gluten-free roll available for an extra two dollars. If you have a severe gluten allergy/ celiac disease, I probably would not risk most of the menu items. Thankfully, we were also able to order a rice bowl with plain swordfish and had no allergy related side effects afterwards. The kids menu is also great for options for littles while dining here. The view is nice, crowded if you're seated outdoors but the staff is awesome which makes it feel more like you're going to a friends house to eat. I'd come here again for drinks on the patio as their drink menu looked so good. A great stop for an outdoor lunch or quick stop with friends.

Quickly went downhill. Once food orders were put in , it began to rain. At no point were we offered to move to the covered patio , food to go, or umbrellas to be put up. We received only 3 of the 7 entrees. Then they arrived in 10 minute intervals after that. One person of our party never received their food , waited over 45 minutes, sitting in the rain. Said it was coming over and over and never came. Manager said nothing could be done. They " comped " the missing meal, but the meal was never received until we physically went inside to get it. Manager said she had to control over an additional discount said it was a "owner decision". Highly disappointed.

The service throughout was great and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We started with the fried calamari and it was one of the best preparations I've had. It came with diced tomatoes and banana pepper rings which added a nice freshness and a little kick. For mains, the baked cod was excellent. The panko crust was crispy, the fish was fresh, and it came with well seasoned mashed potatoes and vegetables. The Fisherman's Platter was also fantastic. It came with fried cod, shrimp, scallops, clam strips, and two sides. I picked buttered rice and mashed potatoes, both of which were really good. Everything was fried perfectly and it also came with tartar sauce and a spicy sauce. It's a huge portion, so I'd recommend sharing it with another person. The kids fish and chips were good. The kids mac and cheese was the biggest disappointment. It tasted like Kraft or something very similar and felt severely overpriced for what it was. Someone else ordered the Crunchy Fish Sandwich which looked really good, although I didn't get to try it. For drinks I had the Citrus Mule and didn't really care for it. Overall, I really liked the menu. There was a good variety of seafood and non-seafood options, everything tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. Cost was roughly $36 per person which felt fair considering the quality and portions. We enjoyed this meal more than Skipper and I'd definitely come back.

The flavor is perfect in every way. I ordered the Traditional Fried Fish sandwich with a side of Onions Rings. The sandwich was very flavorful but was extremely thin. I was expecting a solid sized piece of fish, especially for being in the area it's located in. I decided to do the $3 up charge to switch to the onion rings instead of fries and it was a mistake. I only got around six of them and you could tell they were frozen and not homemade. Which is disappointing for a restaurant that has won awards for it's chowder. I also got to try a French Dip sandwich which was a special for the weekend. It was phenomenal. The Au Jus that came with it was one of the best I've had. The meat was tender and the bread was very fresh. The restaurant had a very unique vibe to it, not something you'll see often at other restaurants. The staff was super nice, and the girl at the front checking people in was working so hard! It was impressive.
