Krema is a gem in downtown Plainfield. Upon walking in the atmosphere was cozy,chic and clean. The menu offers a large variety including multiple choices for non dairy milk and decaf beverages. They have a sofa and books to read, several normal tables, a ton of counter seating and two chairs by the faux fireplace. They offer a lot of fresh food on the menu and buy their ingredients locally from stores like Peter Rubi and Ten Drops coffee. The food does take a little bit but I feel that people need to realize that this isn't a Dunkin Donuts or a Starbucks where everything is premade or heated in a microwave. It's a great quality place to go get a really good coffee and to just hang out. I will definitely be back. read more

Not only are their coffee beverages amazing and different but they also have an outstanding quality tea. It is a very warm and welcoming environment. For my gluten free friends - this place has gluten free bread that they can use for any of the sandwiches on the chalkboard menu! Only $1 upcharge for GF bread. I had a cappuccino with rose-cardamom syrup. They also had great looking specialty drinks. The coffee was superb. I had the goat cheese and spinach sandwich on GF bread and it was delicious!! My sister got a matcha latte with almond milk which was also delish. They have a wide range of dairy free milk options in addition to sugar free syrups. We will definitely be back. read more

Have been here many times and love this place. Very comfortable and charming atmosphere. Their flavored ice-teas are wonderful, as are their sandwiches and avocado toast. Wish the iced-teas came in larger options. My kids love it here, too! Great place to relax or to get a little work done while enjoying a beverage and light bite to eat. read more

Honestly just a waste of time and money. I will not be going back. This is the third or fourth time i have gone and repeatedly the cashier is curt and unhelpful (when i simply ask about flavored syrups, nothing insane) and about half the time they mess up my order or give it to someone else. Fortunately I have seen it and I go up to correct it, but they always are unaware. For $6+ per cup of coffee, I expect it to at least be right. I love supporting local businesses but there are many places I would rather support where it isn't an ordeal to get a simple iced coffee with flavor. read more

The atmosphere of the place was very cute and clean! They unfortunately didn't have the "Krema Brew" when I arrived but the women making my coffee offered to make me an Americano which I had never had before. It was alright, but the coffee was a little bitter. The person I was with had gotten a Chai Tea Latte which they didn't care for. I have been to a bunch of coffee shops and this is by far my favorite, it was right by my high school so I would go a few times a week and the staff knew who I was and they were all extremely nice and helpful. Jamie is my favorite!!! She goes above and beyond to make your experience great, if you don't like the drink it's no problem they will make you another one!!! Went there yesterday with my wife for lunch, it's a place I will go back with my wife or get together with friends for some coffee love the Decour very nice. The service for the sandwich was a little bit on the slow and there wasn't that many people there if they can get your order ready a little bit faster that would be awesome hope the owner monitors their rating on yelp and read and learn from that it just open we have to support our local businesses and help them along the way . I do really enjoy the coffee, avocado toast and the overall atmosphere here, however each time I have frequented Krema the temperature has been uncomfortably hot to the point of me having to leave. The temperature inside the building today was 78 ....which is pretty uncomfortable for most people. I really wish something could be done about the temperature inside as this may deter many people from enjoying the experience. read more

I highly suggest grabbing a tea here. I love the coconut frenzy tea and their cinnamon roll is delicious!! Staff is friendly they use local goods to make their food. Because of that i feel they are a little pricey for sandwiches. read more

I found this little oasis of a coffee shop among the business district of Plainfield to be a good find. All of the employees are very polite and efficient. The coffee it's self is very good and requires a definite detour to grab on the way to the train in the morning. Breakfast sandwiches are top notch and reasonably priced. I am a coffee snob. I find Starbucks to be the equivalent of driveway sealer. After losing Standard market in nearby Naperville who served wonderful coffee in the morning I discovered Krema who roast there own beans and find them to be delightful. The staff is wonderful and the bake goods as well as the lunch options are the best around. Sunday morning crew are very friendly and make you feel welcome and a great way to spend Sunday. First time trying Krema and it was great! I had their special Honey Bee coffee and it was really tasty and sweet. I also had the bacon and Gouda sandwich. The brown sugar bacon paired perfectly with the egg and Gouda. Can't recommend enough! read more

I appreciate the aesthetic of the coffee house. Everything is very serene and well put together. However, I think the drinks are below par. I had a Japanese iced coffee with vanilla, and it is one of my least favorite iced coffees. The flavor just seems like burnt coffee beans and not a beautifully smooth flavor. My friend had a cappuccino, but it tasted like hot milk and no coffee flavor. A nice place to go, but I will steer clear of the coffee. Perhaps a tea would be my next choice. Nice people, nice atmosphere, not so nice coffee. But I'm hopeful for other items! read more

My husband and I ordered tea, coffee, and two sandwiches for lunch. The workers are extremely helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy, but chic and the food was excellent. This is a great place to study, read quietly, or spend time talking with a friend. The one draw back is that there isn't much seating, but that's to be expected as it is a smaller coffee shop. a Gem! This was Plainfield's missing puzzle piece to the town. Not only do they KNOW about coffee, but they provide an extensive menu, and allow you to create your own, if you have a favorite that isnt on the board! I have had about almost everything on the menu, have have yet to find something that I didnt LOVE. The dressing on the salad is out of this world! I read other reviews about the sandwhiches taking a long time, and I think people forget that they are paninis.... and take more than 5 min to cook, since they are hand made and not preformed and processed like starbucks. silly people! Kacie (owner) goes out of her way to make sure everyone is taken care of, follows up with refills, and picks up dishes... its not often you see an owner in the trenches! I cannot wait to see what the summer holds for Krema and what it will offer to our booming little town! read more

I was so excited when I heard that they finally opened a coffee shop in Plainfield!! I took my husband the next day to try it out. When we got there, I told the girl that was working that this was our first time there...hoping she would explain the menu. She really did not seem to care that we were there at all, instead we just were left feeling stupid for not knowing what to order. I was hoping to try a panini with our coffee but the vibe was not welcoming so we didn't want to spend too much time figuring out what to get. Our lattes were delicious though! We both got specialty lattes, I think mine was called lumberjack? (Not sure what the other one was called) I had a blueberry muffin that was really good & my husband had a disappointing brownie. A coffee shop is supposed to be a welcoming place to hang out & enjoy, that's why this experience was so off-putting. I give our drinks a 4.5 but our service was a 2.
