I ordered a dozen donuts and I was expecting them to be warm & toasty (they were NOT). I asked the girl at the window if she could warm them up & She replied with yes. She grabbed the donuts back then returned within 30 seconds with our box, handed them to my boyfriend & SLAMMED the window shut! My donuts were COLD as if she didn't do anything. The worst Krispy Kreme ever. The drive through window is "broken" but it's been this way for years. They close at whatever time they feel like it. We came a little bit before 9 on a Thursday night and they were already locked up. The few times I've been able to get donuts the selection is practically nonexistent and the service is awful. The employees are stoned beyond belief. The restaurant floor is always sticky & gross. It's a shame when Dunkin' has fresher donuts than this location. read more

Let's just say I was ready to pull my hair out! I am HUGE on customer service. Knowing that today was national donut day you would think that they would have been better staffed and prepared. I stood in line for 20 minutes and when I got up to the register the employee was grumpy and did not even respond to my "good morning " :-( Not only were they not customer friendly but they did not have one of the most popular donuts available. I made it my mission to make the cashier smile before I left so after I paid for my donuts I tipped him and said, have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile. Not only do you have control of your happiness but you have the opportunity to affect someone else in a negative or positive way. Let's make it a good day. He smiled and said, "thank you, I needed that ". As a company you should always protect your brand. On a day such as this you want to give your customers a reason and reminder of why you are a household name and we should keep coming back. Very disturbing to be waiting for my order and glance over to the display case of donuts to find something pretty disgusting. A DEAD FLY ON A GLAZED DONUT!!! I ordered a dozen glazed for a get together and they came from the back. I regret not taking a photo of the picture perfect fly perched dead on a Krispy Kreme Original glazed. Almost as if done on purpose as it was in the first row on the tray in plain view in the display case. I was just staring at it while I was waiting for my order. Under normal circumstances, I love Krispy Kreme. This was not normal circumstances. I ordered online, and ordered a desert pack dozen of donuts. I got a note on top that said "Ran out of premium donuts. Here are two dozen glaze." They didn't even use the correct tense of the word. So essentially it kind of became, "What would you like?... Never mind will surprise you.". And to make matters worse, it wasn't the typical glaze donuts that you would expect from Krispy Kreme. They had a nasty aftertaste. I'm not sure if they need to change the oil they cook with, or what, but something wasn't right. I did get a prompt refund from Uber eats, but I was looking forward to the donuts, not a refund with these mediocre glazed. I've had Krispy Kreme doughnuts my whole life, and I'm 55. If I could leave negative stars I WOULD. On 12/2/18 at 10am, my husband and I had a plan to go get doughnuts and doughnut holes from Krispy Kreme. We walked in and started trying to figure out which doughnuts we wanted. The old lady at the front BEATRICE rudely and immediately was like "okay, so what do you want"? We looked at her with confusion, as we were not ready to order yet and she just stood there staring. My husband asked if we got a free doughnut because the hot doughnut sign was on. And BEATRICE rudely exclaimed "we don't do that here, I don't know what state you are from, this is Florida"!! At this point, she was REALLY getting on our nerves. Then she asked "okay, do you want 6 or 12" and we told her 6. So I picked out my 3 and my husband started picking out his 3 and after only choosing 1 doughnut, she stated "that's 6"! We were like "no that is only 4". She rudely opened the box to show us she had 6 doughnuts in there! She had put all 3 of his doughnuts as lemon custard when we specifically said we wanted 1. She was trying to rush the WHOLE time. So she took the wrong 2 out and filled it back up with the correct choices of doughnuts that my husband wanted. She then proceeded to ask if we wanted anything else. I said we would like a 24ct of doughnut holes and she quickly snapped back "Oh, we don't have that turned on right now! My husband and I looked at each other with confusion as it was 10am and ALL products should've been ready or so we thought! Then BEATRICE asked again "if we wanted anything else"! TERRIBLE customer service. I can't even describe how disrespectful the workers were. We drove an hour from Sarasota to come to Krispy Kreme and we get there and they tell us they have no more donuts. We tried to talk to them about why they were still open when they have nothing to serve, but we kept getting interrupted and yelled at. Don't let the horrible reviews deter you from getting your donut fix here. I came in here feeling quite rough with a craving for something unhealthy. Literally cut over four lanes of traffic on Brandon Blvd. in three seconds after I saw the "hot now" sign. Checked the glazed ones, and they looked normal, ended up getting a V-day sprinkled one for me (cute decorations on baked goods is the ONLY good thing about Valentine's day) and a dozen assorted for my colleagues at the fine institution of USF. It was good, and everyone was happy. This store is tiny and almost unnoticeable. It doesn't have the retro, larger than life feel of the Krispy Kreme I grew up with in Alexandria, VA... where you can watch the doughnuts being made on the conveyor belt right in front of you... but it does the trick. Took 4 employees to figure out how to accept my KK gift card. Had only 6 donut options available (heck the local gas station has more than that). As others noted, on previous visits the fresh donuts have a chalky glaze (had this happen many times). I suspect they may be microwaved as one person noted. Visit before last they turned me away because my gift card was less than the entire total ($8 and I had $7.44 on my gift card) even though I had the $1 to pay the difference. Who throws away Krispy Kreme doughnuts?? Yes, I was so excited to see the "Hot Now" light illuminating through the window... Unfortunately, I didn't take heed to one of the Yelp reviewer's (Kimberly) warning about not going through the drive-thru...Thank goodness, I only purchased two hot glazed doughnuts versus the 1/2 dozen or dozen... Well, as I going down Brandon Blvd. I took the anticipated first bite out of one of them (YUCK!!!! I yelled and then turned on the truck's dome lights to look at the doughnut); I balled up the doughnuts in a napkin and this was the first Krispy Kreme that has landed in the trash versus my tummy. Yes, that's right I threw away the Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The first thought came to mind was -- HOW can these people mess up a Krispy Kreme doughnut? The doughnut's glazed was chalky and gritty... the doughnut was lukewarm and not fresh. The two ladies working, were fighting with one another by the counter and one walked away in the middle of expediting the lady in front of me. No one answered the phone and this has been a pattern with them in year's past. So we fought the Brandon traffic and got there at 1:30 -- they were sold out of donuts yet still open. Staff could care less. Girl who said she was the manager could care less. She had the nerve to ask me if I had called the right number (I did). Someone needs to open another location and just let them close down because as indicated by their customer service, or lack thereof, they really don't want to operate a successful business. Her name was of course, printed on the receipt that was, surprisingly, in the bag... This vile woman that was set on upsetting the world around her was named "Latifah" & she made what was suppose to be a pleasant, relaxing Saturday morning filled with happy kids, sweet treats & fun conversation into an upsetting experience. There was no need for her to be rude, period. Let alone to a man that is always polite to everyone he meets, even this Grinch. This location isn't easy to get to... Its not really close to our home... But its worth the drive so that our kids can have a special treat now and again. However, unless something is done about the staff at this location, we will not be returning anytime soon, and if this keeps up, ever again. Customer service matters.
