I usually come to this spot just because it's convenient. There is plenty of parking and a drive thru available. Service is just OK, and there have been a few times where it hasn't been great. The doughnuts are good though, but selection varies by day and time. They haven't had the hot doughnuts the last few times I've come by, and they have run out of some basic flavors at times. I won't lie. I was a little surprised when I found out that Krispy Kreme would be going in smack between McMillan's and DiBartolo, two bakeries that I believe to be the creme de la creme of doughnut purveyors in South Jersey. I even voiced my suspicions on a Talk thread (and later got totally called out on it by a Krispy Kreme higher-up. Oops! Sorry, Braden.). HOWEVER, I went to the Collingswood Krispy Kreme pre-opening party and have to say that the selection is pretty baller. I scored a mini doughnut and a sample of one of the legit sticky buns covered in frosting, but there was so much more that beckoned from the squeaky clean cases. The coffee was also pretty good. There was plenty of seating and rumor has it that there will even be a lounge area. This, along with a drive-thru lane, certainly sets KK apart from the other bakeries. Also, they'll be open until 11pm, which may take care of some evening munchies. Am I giving up my old bakeries? Hells no. But is there room in town for another? I don't see why not. read more

They have a good variety of donuts. However, while waiting for our order we noticed one of the male employees licking his fingers pretty much the entire time. He licks his fingers to separate the coffee filters then uses that hand to pat the filter down, as well as separating the plastic gloves to handle the donuts. At one point, he stuck his entite finger in his mouth. Not a single time did I see him wash his hands. So unprofessional in a food establishment. It was a total disappointment as I was planning on giving these donuts to family and friends. On a good note, the staff are friendly and efficient. read more

The competition has nothing to worry about. These doughnuts are dense and sit like a stone in your gut. Their signature hot doughnut, to me, is greasy (12 g fat per). They do have alternatives like oatmeal, muffins, sticky buns, and bagels. I ordered a coffee that was meh and they were having problems making it, so they might just need some time to get their bearings. Might be a fun place to take the kids. What can I say about this place. I wasn't planning on stopping but the hot and fresh sign was on... I stopped and bought two dozen of the hot donuts and they didn't disappoint. I also joined the text club and received a free donut, while I waited. The donuts just melt in your mouth and it's hard to resist eating them, but I limited myself to just one. After writing my first review and receiving excellent customer service from the company, I've changed my review to 5 stars. My initial problem was that the Hot Light was on, but I was given a dozen doughnuts from a storage rack where they were allowed to cool to room temperature. I mentioned this in my review and sent a tweet to them about it, they apologized and offered to make it up to me (I told them that wasn't necessary.) On my next visit, they were filling up the Original Glazed from right off the conveyor belt. You pretty much can't get a hotter doughnut than that. How's that for making a customer happy? I stopped by the 2nd day (afternoon) and the 6th day (night) they were open, they were quite busy but the line moved fast, only delayed by people who didn't decide what they wanted to purchase until 30 seconds after it was their turn to order. Its great to see Krispy Kreme back in the Philly area, though this location is still a little far from where I live. They seem well staffed and although the lot was full, I was still able to park. The inside was also small, but seemed to accommodate even this large grand opening crowd just fine. It is really a parking mess right now, but the owner at one point came out to direct traffic. Setting up a one-way only system could have helped, but hopefully once everyone gets their fix, parking will get easier. As reviewer Jennifer S said, don't get the cream doughnut, I didn't like it either. Everything else is right on, though. There are at least two restaurant categories I never expect to walk out less than happy. One is an ice cream parlor. The other is a donut shop. Unfortunately, this particular Krispy Kreme didn't get the memo. We were on our way back from a Florida vacation and I promised my youngest child I would get some Krispy Kreme donuts. I planned on going one down South, but it slipped my mind. So, I used Waze and I spotted one in Jersey that's about an hour away from our home and on the way. When I added the stop, it prompted me to inform the cashier of a free dozen original glazed with a purchase of a dozen donuts. Win! We get to the store and as I place my order, I'm told they don't honor WAZE coupons. I explained it was prompted after I keyed in their specific address. She said that I could go to the website to find a coupon or fill out an email listing form . I checked in on Yelp and guess what? They don't honor that coupon either! She said she would give me the free donut if I filled out the email form. I live an hour away and don't need the spam emails for a free donut. I ordered the one dozen and my wife came in to see what was taking so long. I explained the situation and the cashier said, "I told him I'd give him the dozen, but he placed his order and now he's getting exactly what he ordered." First of all, she didn't say that. She said I'd get a free donut for filling out the email. Secondly, if she really was going to give me the free box of donuts, I would have walked out with 2 boxes of donuts. Email address or not. Most of this I could bypass, but it gets even better! More than halfway through the trip, my youngest had to peek in on the "precious cargo". After all of this headache, they got my order wrong. Too tough to put 6 Chocolate Kreme Filled and 6 Original Glazed in a box? ‍ I've never given such a poor review of any establishment, but this was an all around terrible experience. I generally would give a second chance. I don't think it's possible given the circumstances. Furthermore, Krispy Kreme needs to hold all stores, whether corporate or franchise, to the same promotions and standards. If Yelp and Waze promotions are no longer valid across the board, get them down ASAP. read more

If you want doughnuts there's a Dunkin on every corner but there's something about seeing the fluorescent sign lit up "Hot Now" at Krispy Kreme that draws you in like a mosquito to a bug zapper. Although they have many different kinds of doughnuts we usually stick to the basics. Glazed, jelly, and the sprinkle ones. They have a drive-thru but I'm like a little kid and run inside to see the magic happen. The little funnel machine plops a perfectly formed doughnut into the burning hot river of oil and away it goes. I can't help but imagine myself on the Willy Wonka river ride as my little doughnut boat flows downstream. I scream WATCH OUT as it gets flipped to fry the other side and then HOLD ON as a waterfall of icing goodness drenches it. And yes I wear the 1950s paper hat as I'm jumping up and down with excitement. Also why do they even ask "do you want the hot ones"? Does anyone say no? Now I was going to go with 5 stars however one of my kids told me the jelly doughnuts are consistently under filled and demanded a star be taken away. read more

Didn't even get a donut waited 15 minutes at the speaker in the drive thru no cars in front me or so I thought. Tried to pull around to park and go inside. Some idiot in an suv was just sitting there at the window waiting, Instead of parking like an intelligent person. Waited 5 minutes behind the idiot. Employee asked the idiot to pull around. Then same idiot then took two minutes to figure out how to get to the parking lot from the window to park their car. Krispy Kreme needs to train their employees to tell customers to pull around and park if the order is taking more then a few minutes. Advise for others don't go unless you have no where else to be for at least 40 minutes. Most employees would mumble under their breaths that they had to make fresh coffee, but the staff here was very happy to do so even with a smile on their faces. Me and SO saw the red light on and decided to stop. Went thru drive through window with 1 car in front of us. That car places order and we move up. Literally sitting there so long I thought I was in wrong position and maybe I should just leave. Speaker finally comes on and they did apologize for the long wait. They ask what we want and we say 2 different doughnuts. Unfortunately they don't have those on menu or not today, person was mumbling. Drive up to window expecting pay and leave but instead cashier is closing out her register and leaves. We are now sitting there with no one at window. After two days of trying to pull into the parking lot at 10 pm to try what I wrongfully assumed would be the-best-damn-donut in existence, I finally got to SQUEEZE in and sample what the infamous KK had to offer--disappointment. As it needed something in the caloric range of the Lean Cuisine I was planning on eating for dinner, I chose the glazed kreme donut in its stead and made the dreadful mistake of not waiting until I got home to take a bite. Now it should be noted that I am a devoted fan of McMillan's cream donuts RIGHT across the street, which makes cream donuts that people drive OUT OF STATE to get. But like any good food whore, I am willing to cheat with the competition. Yes, McMillan's parking lot can be equally hard to maneuver, but the end result of your efforts is worth it-- A clamshell of thick, frosting cream billowing out of the top awaits you. So imagine my dismay when I bit into my "Krispy" only to have the cream pour out of it like a Delaware River logged Twinkie or an overzealous teenage boy. As literally tasteless as the former, and metaphorically tasteless as the latter, Krispy Kreme failed to deliver. As a devoted area doughnut lover I was part of the opening day hoopla. I didn't make it first in line, but I was close enough I received 20 free cups of coffee, a nice treat indeed. No, their cream doughnuts don't compare to McMillans, but neither do any of McMillans compare to the hot original glazed. I'm quite content to swing in and pick up a hot dozen originals one day, and swing by somewhere else another day for granulated sugar cremes. It's not cheating Michelle, it's sharing the love! So yeah, it's still busy. Drive through times are still running 20 minutes. I think its mainly due to people not knowing what the heck they want. Iced coffee seems to be a challenge as well. Someone here needs to go to dunkin donuts and see how its done. I waited seven minutes (I am not kidding you) for an iced coffee to be asked how many creams and how many sugars. I have no idea how big the large coffee is at that point, so I just get it black. Guys, don't ask, add a preset amount of cream and/or sugar and get me outta there. But these minor annoyances do not take away from the perfect bites of sweet heaven that are hot glazed doughnuts. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, more satisfying and delicious than that fresh hot original glazed doughnut lifted by a smiling employee off the baking conveyor with their magical lifting wand, placed in your hand, and popped directly into your mouth. I have seen old ladies knee police in the crotch to get to that hot doughnut. (I'm serious but I'm sure it was accidental). It's hard to describe the experience, people from down south told me about it but until they opened up in NE philly a few years back I didn't understand. Imagine a sweet, savory, fatty cloud that floats into your mouth and dissolves into a soul satisfying burst of sweet confection. My words can't do it justice, so get thee to KK, stand patiently in line (men - avoid old ladies), enjoy the mechanical baking show with your kids as you wait, inhale the sweet aromas, and, when the smiling employee with the magical wooden wand presents you with that hot fresh pastry, shove it directly into your mouth as fast as you can. If you're lucky, they won't see you do this and you'll get two. Some serious notes. Parking is KKRazy there right now, park around the corner and walk up. DON'T park on Haddon avenue as the drive through backs up and then you're stuck. Don't buy anything less than a dozen unless you're a single 99 pound woman who lives a block away. You'll have eaten them by the time you get home. Experiment with the flavors other than original glazed but always get some originals, there's just nothing like them. Finally, if they're not hot, have a seat and wait. You'll never regret waiting a few minutes for the fresh hot ones, and they have a lovely lounge to wait in! read more

Pulled up to the drive thru window - it took 5 minutes to receive my order. After sitting for 3 minutes, I began to wonder if anyone was even in there( looked deserted, didn't see a single person). Then when the cashier had my order in hand, she had to wait to give me my order because her tub-of-lard, ork-looking supervisor was blocking the window, screwing around with the register while I'm CLEARLY sitting their waiting for my order and I'm sure she was aware the cashier was behind her, order in hand. Let me preface this by saying that I was, and I'm still a huge fan of this place... There wasn't a week that went by that I didn't stop in Kripsy Kreme when I lived down South... But that was when they were they only game in town... It was also before my taste buds changed for the better.. I took six kids here today, and they had a ball.. They enjoyed watching the donuts being glazed, wearing the hats, eating the donuts, and the whole experience of being there... I'd take them back as often as they'd like... But for me, I can't justify eating these tasteless donuts when the Amish bakery in Mullica Hill is 15 minutes from my house, and they make a donuts that makes me wanna grow a beard, put on some suspenders, a hat, and try to sneak in for the family's evening meals on the weekends up in Honey Brook, Pa...lol. Only two lone donuts remained when I left for the night. Our office only has 30 people in it, max. Do the math. They arrived warm, anointed with a thick, crackling sugar glaze; impossibly soft and light, with enough sugar and butter to last all day.
