This store opened over ten years ago, and I still remember its inordinately long lines making the news back when I was in elementary school. On a recent visit, I've noticed that the store has become a shadow of its former self. I remember being offered a free donut while waiting in line here when I was a kid, and anything like that is now completely gone. Nevertheless, I still appreciate the quality of this store. So people have stopped caring for their donuts so much for whatever reason, but I think the work they're doing is still top-notch. They're now celebrating their 75th birthday (from 1937, I guess). I haven't noticed any change to their donuts during that time (of course I haven't been around for most of that time), but they're evidently pretty consistent. I've always been a fan of their normal glazed donuts. A dozen of those thin, shiny rings always made me very happy. Their shape is circular and uniform for the most part; they're pretty recognizable and are quite different from the generic chunky donuts. I will not go back to this location. Recently, we found (by biting into) a screw in a glazed original donut from this store. When we called to notify them, they took down all our info and seemed very concerned and told us we would get a call back. This never happened. After no response for days, I called back and spoke with the manager. I have never experienced such disrespectful service. Not only did he not take the incident seriously, but he quite openly accused me of lying about the incident. He also refused to tell me his name, saying that it was suspicious that we didn't call sooner. He didn't believe that we had spoken to someone when the initial incident happened until we provided the PHONE NUMBER of the staff member we called. Ironically that staff person had been let go the next day, according to the manager. This store doesn't care about its customers OR their safety. I was extremely impressed with this location today. I went in before 10:30 AM and was politely greeted by a man. He switched spots with this very nice woman who's name started with a Z! She helped me pick out the six doughnuts I wanted. When she offered me coffee, I realized they had iced coffee and I was so pleased! I selected vanilla as my flavor and it was probably one of the best iced coffees I've ever had! I'm shooketh!!! They added enough cream to make it just the perfect blend of sweet and creamy. I would have gotten all of the fun flavors they offer but I definitely will be back for round 2! They seemed to need to hire more staff but I won't lie, this place was SPOTLESS! When I received the drinks I thought they looked to be the same size but was in a hurry and couldn't inspect them. Came here at 6:30pm on a Saturday night craving a soft warm original glazed doughnut. The drive thru worker said they were out of original glazed. How are you already out when you are open for over four more hours (until 11pm) and you literally have a conveyor belt that makes the doughnuts. Honestly, that's disgraceful. While I have had the original glazed doughnut at work on several occasions, this was my first visit to the store and purchasing them myself. The store was quiet on a weekend around noon and I was welcomed immediately by the staff. It was nice and clean in the store and the doughnut case was stocked full. While there, I opted to get a half dozen so I could at least have a taste of each of the doughnuts since I may not return for a long while. These were my options and how they tasted (this is based on my personal taste preferences!): Original glazed - this was standard, and I enjoyed it Chocolate iced custard filled - I disliked the chocolate, the custard was meh, the doughnut was fluffy Glazed raspberry filled - the raspberry tasted manufactured and not super enjoyable Glazed lemon filled - same as the raspberry!! Maple bar - the maple coating was not very pleasant and the doughnut itself was not super fluffy Glazed blueberry cake - this was the BEST one, and came recommended by the server when I couldn't decide a final doughnut to purchase! Overall, it was a good price point, and I got to try a few things I normally wouldn't. However, the only doughnut I actually ate was the blueberry cake (as suggested by the employee) so I'm glad I did try several flavors. The good old New Year's Resolutions. The usual staple in my resolutions would be the: "stay fit through exercise and healthy dieting." So nine days into 2009, my friend and I decided to go on a hike. After a five hour long hike up to Poo Poo Point (where my friend and I got lost and bit it on multiple occasions due to the ice and snow... by the way, hiking in January? BAD IDEA), I decided to tell my New Year Resolutions to suck it. Limping down from the mountain with our sore legs, we got into our car and drove to the Krispy Kreme for a donut to soothe our injured and aching bodies. We drove up and we see that it was empty inside and got bummed. But then we realized the drive-thru was still open! Thank God for lazy people! We got our $1 original glazed donut and it was warm and gooey and OH SO delicious. We savored every last flake of the glazed sugar that fell from the donut. I come here every now and then to buy some donuts for special events. They are both delicious and are amazing. I'm a fan of the original glazed, it's an all time classic and delicious. I love this store with all my heart and soulllll! It's perfectly located in the hussle and bustle of Issaquah so quick access to and from. Kool Kreme is an excellent idea and the closest thing to custard consistency I can find outside of NY state. You either love Krispy Kreme donuts or you don't. The original glazed is the standard own litmus test for most folks, preferably when it's hot. I get tired of these easily but not their jelly and Kreme-filled concoctions. The Issaquah location was one of the first in the area, and it has held up pretty good over the last several years. Service is usually friendly, efficient, etc. For whatever financial problems KK had during the dot-bust era, their stores seem to be pretty consistent. Folks in Latte-land may scoff, but IMHO Krispy Kreme coffee is seriously underrated. They offer three strengths - Mild, Rich and Bold. I prefer Rich, it's a smooth yet full-bodied cuppa. I would not compare Krispy Kreme to Top Pot for example, I don't think they're in the same league. But for what it is, I think Krispy Kreme does a lot of things right. read more

I noticed the missing donuts once I reached home and immediately called only to be told that they probably missed them, but since cost of 12 donuts was the same as that of 10 (2 free if you bought 12?), I got what I paid for!! Very good service, reasonable price and there is a drive-through. I saw the difference of dining in Vs drive through; people get much bigger serving than drive through.
