I lived in Lakeland for 20 years and the only Krispy Kreme was the south Lakeland location. I move to another city and North lakeland FINALLY gets a huge KK. WHY?! WHY?! We stopped by on our visit to family and couldn't help get a dozen. FINALLY got to try the chocolate glaze, which we've been DYING to try and they only have them Fridays. Oh boy was it worth it. The fresh light was on, the donuts were kranking, and both the drive thru and indoors had a line. We opted to go in and check out the place and order inside. There were only 3 people in front of us and the line moved very quickly. There were many employees working hard. I just ask, why did you wait so long to open a location in North lakeland?! Bad enough to make me dust off my Yelp app and leave a review. Dirty bathroom with sticky floors that sounded like Velcro while I walked inside. Got out as quick as I could. Then it took 15 minutes to get through the line. On top of that, they were out of glazed donuts and they couldn't be made until 5pm for some reason. The only reason I gave it two stars is that at least both staff members were cordial and polite. But there was no rush on anyone's part to expedite the lines which I feel was more on the management for the shift. read more

Really disappointed this morning.. normally this location is on fire but not today first of all I raced to the bathroom to find no toilet paper which is fine (I improvised) however I did tell the two ladies standing behind the case about it and one said ok- but no one moved to do anything .. all aside.. I went inside for my first time at this location. The inside smelled wonderfully of donuts. The conveyor with the fresh donuts being made was right behind a half-wall with plexiglass. It was awesome to see the process. The woman working the counter was knowledgeable and friendly. She definitely made the experience "extra". Finally, the line was short, no cop cars, just a normal Wednesday morning, and I needed an iced coffee and a donut! I got both here at Kristy Kreme but the light wasn't on to indicate hot donuts.. New location only open a week so the new place crowds are still in full throttle. On a hot Sunday afternoon we were at least 16th in line and took 32 minutes to get to the window. It will be a tight squeeze on a good day to hook around thru the drive-thru, just off the main drag. Police on scene due to line issues (no clue what it's like inside many were walking in). They have a full menu of reasonably priced items and specialty treats. We picked up a 12 oz bag of "Classic" coffee to brew at home ($8) and iced latte small ($2.79). No donuts for us as they don't stand up to a local maker's donuts. The meek masked window girl was difficult to hear and to understand (accent), when verifying the order. It appeared chaotic rather than efficient inside. The latte wasn't ready (tho we ordered with 4 cars in front of us). When it did arrive the ice was fully melted and it was a luke warm latte. Oddly, the calorie value for the 12 ounce drink is 90, when the 2% milk they use is 122 calories per 8 ounces (making 12 ounces 183 calories). It's hard to believe it's watered down by half. Got almost an instant headache when drinking it, though flavor was good. So we'd give this store an okay rating with a lot of promise when the crowds die down, but we would not advise anyone join the parking lot fray for a while yet. A higher rating could come when the ordering process is easier from microphone to window, the clerk is more clear, the nutritional value/calories are clarified and the latte arrives COLD. We went to the drive thru to get donuts because the "hot and ready" sign was red. We ordered two dozen, and received both cold. Such a disappointment. I parked and when inside. When I went inside to swap for warm donuts I was told "they're the hottest we have" and that it would be a 10 minute wait for warm donuts. I can understand running out of warm ones, but shut the sign off. Otherwise it's disappointing and frustrating. They're not nearly as good cold as they are warm. read more
