There are soooo many doughnut options at Krispy Kreme, so the hard part is picking which one you want! Sure, I could have bought additional doughnuts, but in trying to control myself, I picked a chocolate glazed one, and quickly got out of there before temptation took over! Good Choice! I been hearing so much wonderful responses on Krispy Kreme donuts. I was so excited to finally go and choose my selection of donuts. All the donuts where fresh and available for my selection. I really enjoyed the glazed blueberry cake, glazed raspberry filled over all the doughnuts where fresh and all tasted good. The service I received could of been better. It was 10min until closing time and staff didn't seem to happy to server me. Kevin has amazing energy and was happy to help me choose flavors. Kevin was upbeat and extremely polite. Heading back home from NYC I wanted to surprise the fam with some sweetness...I completely forgot until I arrived at Penn Station and saw there small kiosk like heavenly shop. I am not sure but I must've caught them at the time they had stocked their freshest donuts because they were melt in your mouth fresh. Especially their lemon and raspberry filled...even with not trying them until I got home about an hour later... They were busy and fully stocked. Their staff was overwhelmed with the amount of people waiting for their orders...they messed up a couple of the people's orders in front of me. Lastly they are pricey. Read every comment on Trip Adviser about her, can't believe she's still there. Tried to talk to the Manager, Tillie, she was rude as hell too. Meandering my way through the weekday commuter crowd heading back home, I stopped by Krispy Kreme's lone NYC location inside Penn Station to satisfy my donut cravings. With so many different donut variates, I settled on four: 1. Glazed 4.5/5.0: This is the classic Krispy Kreme donut and it's easy to taste why. Yes the honey-like tasting glaze was sweet, but in a very pleasant way. The donut portion was soft and airy; the way a yeast donut should be. 2. Glazed Chocolate Cake 4.0/5.0: This is one of my favorite donut flavors and Krispy Kreme's version was quite good, but not quite on par compared to the venerable Dunkin Donuts version. The generously spread translucent glaze weighed this donut to the sweeter side of the taste scale, with the chocolate flavor taking second place (BTW....opposite to the Dunkin equivalent with a predominant quite dark chocolate taste). Speaking on the chocolate flavor, it primarily tasted like a lot of cocoa powder versus say a milk chocolate taste. 3. Glazed Raspberry Filled: 4.5/5.0: This one surprised me. I enjoyed it more than I initially thought. It had the same pleasant honey-like sweet glaze I mentioned on the Glazed donut, but inside was a yummy raspberry jelly. There was a strong raspberry flavor which was both sweet and had a hint of welcomed tastness. The dough was pillowy and had a hint of buttery flavor too. 4. Came here for my vaccine donut! Feel like it's smaller than some of the other vaccine donuts from other Krispy Kremes that I've been too. They have them pre-packaged on the side so all you have to do is show evidence of your vaccination (vaccine card, app, etc.) and you can grab a donut. It's a very fast process. Had to stop by and pick up a dozen before heading to NJ. I've never had Krispy Kreme, so I had no high expectations. Service is quick if you order a set assortment of donuts; if not you'll have to wait in line to pick each donut. I tried the original and thought it was light and fluffy. The glaze is a little too sweet though. My coworker recommended to microwave the donut for 7 seconds so that the glaze/frosting melts a little, but the donut is warm and soft. I first learned about Krispy Kreme when one of my former supervisors treated me to Krispy Kreme's Doughnuts at the beginning and end of my internship. I also used to see the Kardashians post pics of their donuts from time to time. Naturally, I assumed this company was a high-end Dunkin Donuts. Anyways, I had a chance to try their chocolate doughnut and their regular coffee when I had to take the Amtrak to an office meeting in Albany. The chocolate doughnut resembles Dunkin Donut's Boston cream, except there is whipped (?) crème filling inside as opposed to the cream filling found in the Boston cream. It was actually pretty good. I felt their coffee was made just right (right amount of milk and sugar) so no adjustment was needed. The cost is not that much more than Dunkin in my opinion. Full disclosure I have not had a Krispy Kreme donut in years. There was always some novelty new type of donut to try and I don't prefer sweets so never got around to having Krispy Kreme. The employees were really nice, friendly, fast, and efficient. There were two people working they and they worked so smoothly together. The racks of donuts looked so beautifully displayed. The only thing I can say is that I feel the donuts are a little too sweet for me. If it was a little less sweeter then I would probably go back more often. read more

Hectic. Its a shame that there aren't many Krispy Kremes left in NY. The ones at Penn are way more pricey than the Krispy Kreme I get around campus for fundraisers (12 donutd for $7.50) here I paid $8.69 for 6 donuts. There wasn't tax for either. You'd think it'd cost less in a more populated city. There were no chairs to sit at at Penn. No where to enjoy the donuts away from all the people that were asking us to buy them food. A stranger asked me to buy him pizza, and when I said no he said he should have kust grabbed my purse... I got 2 originals, 2 lemon filled ones, and 2 double chocolate. It is my first time trying flavored Krispy Kreme donuts. The donuts here are more expensive and less fresh than other Krispy Kreme locations. I am going to stick to the original in the future. The others are too sweet. The box for 4 donuts is really pretty. This location has 2 counters. Only one side was open. It was understaffed, but even the last time I was here , the other counter wasn't used. Using it would make the line less hectic. We need more Krispy Kremes in the NYC area! Long Islanders asked where I got the donuts from. Overall, these donuts will hold me over, but they really aren't representing Krispy Kreme well. read more

Still the best donuts in NYC (best donuts in the world, for that matter). Again, if you can make the trip to jersey city for the real experience, I strongly recommend you go. Still, even though this one is in penn, it doesn't a pretty good job overall. They have a lot of the classic flavors, and open early. Recently, I went here to get the limited edition donuts, which are the chocolate glazed ones. They are only served here on the first Friday of every month, so you'll only have like 12 times per year to get them. Luckily, they don't run out like within the first couple hours or anything (in my experience), since I showed up here like around 2 in the afternoon, and there were still quite a lot. I actually think they're slightly better than the original glazed donuts (surprisingly), but are additional 50 calories per donut. Still, I think it's definitely worth it to come and try them if you are a donut fan like I am. read more

Yes, it's a chain. Yes, I still heart Krispy Kreme. This is probably the closest and only location I know of within Manhattan. I do love my Doughnut Plant, Dunkin' Donuts and have yet to try Dough in Brooklyn. However, it's Krispy Kreme's Original Glazed that keeps me coming back for more. Ode to the Krispy Kreme of my dreams. It was 8pm on a Sunday and we just realized we were going to a rooftop BBQ empty handed. we were in the nightmare dead zone of Port Authority with only creepy, dirty liquor stores and rundown bodega bakeries as our choices. For half an hour we desperately hunted, until S. exclaimed, "KRISPY KREME IN PENN STATION!" Our salvation. We trekked it to 34th street, braved the zombie apocalypse of the Penn Station walking dead, searched the store corners because it's impossible to tell where you are in the maze, and arrived at the tiny gleaming display of Halloween-decorated donuts. I had been to this location three times previously and was able to show my first vaccine confirmation email as well as my upcoming second dose email reminder. And was able to get the donut with that. Got out for a bridal event a little early so decided to stop by to pick up my free donut. They are currently doing a promotion where you can sign up for free donut coupon in the email. Got a little lost inside Penn Station looking for this small shop especially crazy during rush hours! (Apparently there's only one Krispy Kreme in the whole city?). After finally finding the store, it didn't take me too long to choose my freebie - pumpkin cheesecake donut (seasonal) sounds beyond delicious. The cashier was extremely friendly even though he didn't know how to work my freebie coupon. Instead of wasting any time further verifying my coupon, he just let me go with the goodie. The donuts here are Amazing!!!! Its almost as if those glazed donuts melt in your mouth. Theres not much to this place since its basically a donut stand. I was there last Sunday Dec 29 at night (9pm). The Krispy Kreme staff did not care about the donut name labels Not Matching the actual donuts behind their donut name labels. Three of the staff at the counter, told me, it was because they ran out of the donuts that matched those name labels. They then only put different donuts behind name labels that did not match the donuts' names because they cared about it looking like a full case. So when I even asked for the donut by its name, three of the staff altogether said, the actual donut, I am pointing to, was not the donut, they as staff recognized by the name label in the donut case, I was reading out to them. Regarding customer service, the staff should be able to understand where the customers verbally express what they want or are confused by- by the mess-up of names on the donut case name labels. Overall the donuts taste nice. This stand just needs to improve on its politeness with customer service. read more

Krispy Kreme is one of my favorite donut chains in the tri-state area! There's beauty in simplicity such as the glazed donut which never disappoints with the airy, fluffy donut dripped in icing! I can eat 3 of these donuts in one sitting! I am also a fan of the chocolate filled custard, strawberry sprinkles, and chocolate donuts! Can't go wrong with their season flavors too. I also like the small donut bite size in a plastic cup. It's more sanitary than Donut Dunkin which they use a wax paper and dump the munchkins inside a paper bag. My only qualm is Krispy Kreme should also make interesting flavors like their Asian counterpart such as iced strawberry, raspberry and blueberry glazed (Japan chain), matcha/green tea (Japan chain), and iced watermelon glazed (Philippines) etc. If you check out Krispy Kreme in Japan on IG, the donut designs are beautifully decorated and the flavors are pleasing to the palate than the typical flavors offered in the US. This will be Krispy Kreme competitive advantage in the US in the world of gourmet and artisan donuts. This location in Penn State was recently renovated. The donuts are generally 99.9% fresh due to the high turnover. I always see a fresh batch of donuts on the racks. The cashiers are very efficient; not a long wait. read more

This is a typical donut stand. They DO NOT make their donuts at this location, so that is a bummer. Staff is quick and friendly, so can not complain. What is disappointing is that most times there is a special donut out, this location does not have the special donut. At least they are accommodating and will let you pick another donut, but we want the special ones! I did write to KK once about this issue, but never heard anything back. i was so excited to try out their new donuts for the holiday season! i never knew that there was a krispy kreme location in penn station, since it's towards the end of the hallway when you walk down the main entrance. 11/29/20 -festive tree donut: the icing decoration of the tree on this looked great! it's dipped in cream cheese icing, and the inside has red velvet cake batter. it was really sweet because there was a lot of the filling inside, but it tasted so good! the texture of fluffy and soft, and i really enjoyed it. i believe it was also only around $2. it was a unique flavor that i've never tried before, so i didn't even mind how it was small in size. I was here on a Krispy Kreme donut-finding mission after walking down the block party/festival in hells kitchen (and seeing a stall selling these). I walked all the way down to Penn Station since it has been awhile since I've had a KK donut and forgot whether or not I liked it (plus, I just finished watching a youtube video on how they make these donuts the past weekend). Unfortunately, the donuts are SUPER sweet - it's a bit much for me (someone who loves sweets, but not for pure syrupy-sweet taste). I have frequented this Krispy Kreme multiple times and had various encounters with the menial staff - they are not the friendliest, and have an air of just wanting to get you your food and getting you out of their hair. The last time I attempted to purchase food from this establishment, I was met with extremely rude managerial and employment staff, and even denied food that I had already paid for. I left with an extremely rancid taste in my mouth for the service here, and will no longer be coming to this or any other establishment in the future, if this is the kind of staff that they so happily employ and trust with the reputation of their brand. I am extremely displeased and repulsed by the managerial and staff behavior. If you really crave a Krispy Kreme donut and can't get it locally, I would highly recommend taking the extra 10-15 minute walk to the one on 6th Ave - I haven't been, but there's no way the staff could be less friendly than the Penn Station branch. read more
