It's Krispy Kreme so they always have some kind of fun seasonal doughnut and you get to watch the carousel of hot doughnuts making it through the machine. Sometimes just watching the donuts getting made is half the pleasure. Still the best thing on the menu is their cinnamon rolls but they don't have them very often. I am writing this as a beneficiary of a family trip to this Krispy Kreme. Nothing like just sitting at home, wiling away time and - SURPRISE - a white box of you-know-whats shows up! Blissful! Of the treats inside were some of my favorites, including the custard (not that nasty creme!) filled chocolate and the lemon filled glazed. I was sadly informed that they were out of the glazed sour cream donuts I also love; oh well, next time! There were also a few of a limited offerings - the original filled doughnut topped with Twix and the bar doughnut filled with Twix. They were out of the mini original glazed doughnut topped with Twix. Let's tackle the usual donuts (my preferred spelling) first; The filled donuts were good, very light and just enough enough filling for each of perhaps three bites - if I control myself. Just as I expected. Now, for the limited time offerings. Thye concept of a candy bar in a donut is interesting, and I'm not sure I would have picked Twix. Seems a bit sturdy and chewy for a bar, as I found out biting into the bar and the whole candy came out! Oy. Now, a Kit Kat might have been better, but maybe next time. The other donut, allegedly filled, was not close to the "reality" showed in promo/advertising. Of course. There was some filling under the toppings where I did an exploratory cut, but only about 1/2 the donut was filled, and it had an air pocket so the tunnel was only half filling. Weird. But it was tasty. However, the toppings were lacking as well. Needed more! Otherwise, an interesting concept. Others in the family loved them, and I would try the donut again. The service at this location is beyond exceptional. We saw two women in front of us being annoying about their order and giving back their donut but the staff handled the situation calmly! Krispy Kreme is located at Union Landing in Union City. It had been a long while since I had visited this Doughnut shop, and the Mars landing gave me reason to do so. They were offering The Mars Doughnut to commemorate the Mars landing. The Doughnut would only be available for one day, so I decided to get some. There was a small line for said Doughnut. The line was Socially Distanced and everyone was wearing a Face Mask. While waiting, I saw the Mars Doughnut and how briskly it was selling. When I got to the counter, I placed my order. The drive thru, the pre-order line as well as the walk-in line all were getting the Mars Doughnut. I paid and took my Doughnuts outside. The Mars Doughnut was tasty and fun. HORRIBLE service! Walked in and stood there for over 3 minutes while the workers scurried around and said nothing to me. Both myself and the guy in line behind me walked out. When you're paying $3 or more per donut, there should be a level of service...something like "hi, I'll be right with you." Always worth the 30 minute drive! I do drive-through for the convenience which has been good so far. Krispy Kreme quality is top-notch. Their donuts are consistently tasty with just the right amount of glaze and filling. I read a few reviews about cold donuts in the drive-through which would really suck, but can't say that's happened me to me yet. The warmth gives that satisfying feeling when you bite into the donut and it just melts away in your mouth! Definitely an important part of the experience. Got my donuts within just a couple of mins. I've come here many times but I've never eaten a donut right off the conveyor belt until recently! Waited for 10 min in the line to find out that you can only order the doughnuts at the bottom shelf and they cant touch the one on top display (which are most of their top flavors) yet youre seeing them getting fron the freshly cooked doughnut racks if someone comes in for pick up.
