    Crushed Honey Butter Biscuits
    Jeremiah C.

I haven't tried any of the food but the lady crushed my biscuit. I was looking forward to the biscuit. The lady could have just put it on top. I got 4 piece combo w mac and cheese and a biscuit. It is inside of a gas station which isn't a problem.

KKC @ Antelope Food And Gas Walked inside the convenient store in this gas station and wanted to purchase some chicken. It was kinda weird but, yes, you can buy these delicious chicken right by the cash register, at the same counter you pay for gas or sundries. The menu is right above the register. At 5:30p the selection was slim pickings but they still had Cajun tenders and honey butter biscuits left so that's what we got. I knew nothing about KKC until my first taste of their chicken... in Cocoa FL. But it was a separate restaurant with table seating inside and not linked to a gas station. I was surprised to find one just a little over 4 miles from my home (8-min drive) inside a gas station convenience store. I never knew all this time. The employee behind the counter said that they're really good! I replied and said, "yes, I know! I had them first in Florida." He asked where in FL... I said Cocoa Beach and he said "I worked there for two years" Well, I'll be damned! LoL Anyway, thanks to Charlene G's check-in I wouldn't have known about KKC! Delicious chicken and reasonably priced too! The honey butter biscuit is so delicious! Review #1771

Krup krup krup- so Krispy crunchy. Yum!! 4 piece dark 6.99. She threw in a piece of bread- honey bread I think. Delish. They were still very hot and it wasn't so busy when we went there Sunday night after 7pm. Go here if you want some fried chicken.

This is the weirdest chicken shop in Sac Town. I thought the place would be a window or something inside the gas station, instead the food is right at the gas station cashier station and the cashier is in charge of your food order. Crazy as that was the family meal was a crazy good value, 12 pieces of chicken, 6 tenders, fries and biscuits for around $27 sorry I can't remember the exact cost. I do remember there being a 10% discount with Yelp check in though-Score! The food was all pretty good, my favorite were the big well seasoned dinner fries. This is an outstanding value for a family meal but I wish they had some cole slaw or something not fried as another side order option. Give Krispy Krunchy Chicken a try the are well worth the cost.

I was more than a little shocked to walk into this gas station to use the restroom and saw that immediately next to the gas station bathroom, which was as clean ( not !) as one would think a gas station restroom is, but as a room that was being used to prepare this " krispy chicken " - the person preparing the food was not wearing any face or hair covering other than a turban. Nothing to cover his substantial facial hair as he worked directly over a large tub of raw chicken. I actually walked back inside to confirm that I had seen him not wearing any food prep gloves or any other food orep safety equipment.

Our receipt from yesterday. 4th of July. Do us a favor and NOT charge us for a bag, when we did not use a bag at all.

I sure hope corporate reads this. So here is the deal. From what we can tell Krispy Krunchy is TO GO only. Meaning if you are going to charge me $.25 cents for a bag, when we were handed only a TO GO box for a 16 piece chicken. WHAT A RIP OFF. It's about principle not money. Also, If two customers walk in and want to buy some Kripsy Krunchy Chicken and you are on the phone full time speaking in another language, how the hell are we supposed to feel comfortable asking questions and how are you able to greet us and make a sale of chicken. Seriously man. Pretty simple. I sure welcome corporate to contact me about this, your gas station will lose business this way. NOT COMING BACK.

We learned on our very first visit how good the gumbo is and it's become a must ever since. The people who work here are friendly and you can tell they have a lot of regulars who stop in for food. There's a gravel lot right next to the building and you can take your food to go or enjoy it there. Our food took about 15-20 minutes and then we took it home to enjoy. The portions are definitely fair for the price. They also pack everything well for the ride home. The gumbo is our favorite, it's flavorful and packed with protein like their sausage, chicken, and shrimp and has just a hint of spice. We tried their riblets for the first time and it was a generous portion and we really enjoyed the bbq sauce they used. The mac and cheese is good, but I like mine creamier. It does have a little spice which was nice. The dressing was packed with flavor and we were excited they offered this side because you don't see it everywhere. Their hot water cornbread is definitely something they're known for and is really good on its own or dipped into the gumbo. The Palmer here tastes like Brisk raspberry tea mixed with lemonade, and we really enjoy this twist on it. Overall this spot is a local gem and we love visiting.

One…read morecustomer was sitting at a table waiting for her order. It's a small, very interesting place! (I found this restaurant by accident on Google.) I decided to stand there and review the very clear appetizing menu, taking a moment to soak in this unusual eating spot. I enjoyed the uniqueness and creativity of the layout--you have to be here to understand it. Anyway, as I was standing there, I heard a very pleasant voice ask, "May I help you?" I reached up and turned up my "pretend" hearing aid to make sure I heard that voice coming from a professional Young Queen. It made me forget I was at a soul food establishment! Usually, I am greeted with rolling eyes, laziness, and--most of all--attitude. (See one of my old podcasts link below regarding my opinion on soul food restaurants on iHeartRadio): https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-david-mack-show-105280474/episode/lena-s-soul-food-in-oakland-ca-119449772/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false Back to my review: Her name is Victoria... like the Queen! I told Victoria I was looking at the menu, which has a very nice variety of soul food selections. Victoria asked me if I would like to sample the gumbo. Sure! Victoria came back with a small, teasing sample, and after tasting it, I told her, "SOLD!" Just from the taste of that gumbo, I knew my Mother's Spirit was back there doing the cooking. It was a very cold day, and I would have eaten there, but because of the layout, I ordered the family size to-go. The gumbo also comes with hot water cornbread. Victoria took my order, my payment, and advised me it would be ready in five minutes. I waited in my car. I came back in four minutes, and my order was already bagged and ready for pickup. I "suffered" during the hour-long drive home, smelling the aroma of that meal the whole way! Finally home, I opened the secure bag, filled to the top container, and took out the prize. The food presentation was excellent! I put the gumbo in a bowl, and it was still very hot. I then proceeded to taste my meal: Rice: Nice and fluffy! Chicken: Flavored perfectly. Soup Juice: Perfect. Prawns: Excellent. Sausage: Plump and sliced perfectly. All many other ingredients: Very tasty with a hint of spice. Note: There were no crab legs to make a mess (which I did NOT miss) and no slimy okra (which was great)! The sweet hot water cornbread was very buttery and looked like a thick pancake. I put mine in the toaster oven to warm it up and get it a little crisp. It was amazing! That gumbo not only warmed me up, but it also put me to sleep like a big baby! If this restaurant continues with the trajectory of this review (professional attitude, unique layout, and great menu items), they will be the "go-to" soul food spot on the 80! I wouldn't change a thing! I will return because I want to report on another food item I had my eye on before the gumbo sample! Go check out this spot and see the Young Queen Victoria! Make sure you tip her for great service (No Tax On Tips), just like I did! David Mack (Reviewer-in-Chief)

I have thought about trying it for sometime, and Sunday was the day. I got my person off of his computer game and we drove down to a decently busy drive through, so we decided to go inside as we wanted to review the menu anyways. The restaurant was clean and cute, almost set up like a little diner. THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING. or at least every fast food type item I wanted to see on the menu. We ordered chicken strip basket, a jalapeño burger, a chocolate shake and fried zucchini. There was at least 40 other things on the menu that I wanted to order, but figured this was a solid order for our first time. There was a little confusion with the cashier over the jalapeño burger, but I refuse to dock stars for a cashier who looked like they were still in training. The important part of the mix up, was the chef came out to clarify exactly what we wanted, so it was never really a problem to begin with. That chocolate shake has been living in my head rent free ever since, because it was perfect. The jalapeño burger (we ended up with 3 patties instead of two, per the menu confusion) basically brought tears to my partners eyes because it was so perfect. And they actually season their fries!!! I would give 6 stars if I could. Don't sleep on this gem. Whether you would call it a drive in or just fast food it is AWESOME.

We stopped in later in the evening for dinner and got the mushroom cheeseburger combo ($12.99), the Pastrami Cheeseburger combo ($14.99), cheese curds ($5.99) and fried okra ($5.99). They gave us our drinks right away and they have the nice crushed ice that's like tiny pebbles. It's always a treat when a spot has this ice because it's tiny and crunchy and not offered a lot. The food didn't take too long and came out on a tray for our dine in experience. There are plenty of booths here and during our visit there were a lot of other people enjoying meals in small groups and couples. The food was hot and fresh and the fries were nicely cooked crinkle cut fries. The fried okra as good, but needed a bit more seasoning or sauce to dip (we had ranch). The cheese curds were great, hot and the cheese was perfectly melty. My husband got the mushroom cheeseburger with just mushrooms, cheese, pickles and added bacon. He said it was a good burger and satisfied his craving, but isn't something he'd specifically seek out. I got the pastrami burger with everything on it and thought it was delicious, but the pastrami was a bit overcooked and dried out so the texture was a bit hard to bite through with the burger and I found myself eating the pastrami separately from the burger. There's plenty of parking here and they have a drive through. I heard the milkshakes are great, so if we stop by again we'll try one.
