We've been driving past one of their SJ locations pretty often and have been hearing good things about this chain overall. Happy to say that it did not disappoint! Since Krispy Krunchy locations are inside supermarkets and gas stations, I was definitely skeptical that the food wouldn't be good or fresh. I ordered the 8 piece chicken & large potato wedges, which came out to about $25 after all of the fees & tip. Still a pretty good deal overall. I tried the potato wedges first and YUM. They were not as crispy because they were steaming a bit inside of the paper bag but they were warm and delicious! Loved the seasoning on them and they probably taste amazing fresh out of the fryer. Will be popping these into the air fryer later to crisp them up again! The chicken was SO KRUNCHY. Flesh was fresh and juicy, and the seasoning was on point. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it! tl;dr - Great chicken & yummy potato wedges. TRY IT! I've been driving past this place for over a year now and I finally took the dive into this gas station food adventure. My appetite was definitely thrown off when I saw them refill their mac n cheese from a SEALED PLASTIC BAG! It's a gas station, so I expect grime, but that was a bit too much for me. I grew up in the neighborhood so the area doesn't bother me. Parking is the super save market lot and not a problem. Had to wait 10mins as he needed to fry it. Again no problem as i can wander around the market. The cashier was friendly, polite, and happy to help. First of all, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes while the person on the other end had what sounded like a mini-argument with a customer. It was really awkward and uncomfortable to hear, and just sounded unprofessional. Then when they came back on the phone, they couldn't understand what I was trying to say and it took a long time to clarify that I wanted to place an order for pickup. Once that was understood, they told me that there is no way to place an order over the phone and I had to come in in person to place the order, then wait 30 min for them to fry the chicken. I even offered to give my credit card number to pay for it over the phone ahead of time and they said they didn't have the capability for that. When I asked to speak to the manager, they said they were on break and wouldn't be back for 20 minutes. I was so confused and didn't understand how a place with takeout doesn't allow you to place orders over the phone. In the end, we ended up ordering online successfully which made it even more bizarre that they couldn't take an order over the phone and said I had to come in-person and then wait 30 min. To clarify, the chicken is actually really good. It was piping hot, crispy, and not very greasy. It also had a subtle spice to it which made for a pleasant aftertaste.
