The chicken is always krispy and krunchy as advertised! Lol. I come here during the week at lunch time as it is a few miles from the office. Always in & out pretty quick during the week and good service from the ladies who work at the counter. I've come once or twice on weekends and the wait can be a bit long at times. Luckily this fall's new "StAy-At-HoMe-OrDeR" got more people flocking to the malls and Santana Row that I was able to pick up a Family Meal two weekends ago. It's a hefty meal at that: 12 huge chicken pieces, tenders, fries and butter/bakery rolls to keel over a family of four+1.5. The half is a dog but their chicken recipe on its own was as rich and spicy as their quantity was plenty. It was more than enough to last us two days. For a single, you're better off a-la-carting their items to try if you're a Valero regular; but I wouldn't pop in unless my takeout rotation was getting stale and I was tired of the other chicken joints in the area. I got a 4 piece leg and breast combo (dark meat) some tendies for my gf, and sides. I was surprised how good the sides were! I've been wanting to try this place for a while! It's located inside the Valero gas station store. When you enter, the aroma of fried chicken fills your nose even with your mask on! For my family, we for the meal deal with chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges and biscuits. I thought the chicken was all right. It's less oily as compared to Popeyes or KFC. The potatoes wedges were a bit undercooked. The best thing about the meal were the biscuits! They have 2 flavors - honey and blueberry! Those are heavenly! We also get a large side of Mac and cheese which was also good. I'm glad I was able to try Krispy Krunch but price wise, I might stick to the other chains but I'll come back for the biscuits if I'm in the area. read more

Whoah. I'm honestly impressed at how good a fried chicken joint located in a Valero is. The funny thing is, I hadn't even heard of Krispy Krunchy Chicken until recently when I was recommended it by a friend who's not even in the Bay Area! I was in the mood for tenders so I decided to get 8 tenders from here. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much especially after seeing what some smaller chains called "tenders." Color me surprised when I found out how big and filling these tenders were! 3 is enough for a single meal. Seriously--the ratio of meat to breading for these tenders was quite unexpected. I did get to experience the "krispy krunchy" parts of the fried chicken here for parts of the tenders, but I think the regular pieces of chicken will demonstrate those more. The taste of the chicken tender itself is good, although it is not significantly different from what one might experience from big names' tenders. It's not spicy or anything like that. So definitely get sauces from them as well (ranch is a good choice). KKC is exceptional given how much I got for what I paid. You'll have to find out for yourself this time around how this place offers a deal that is a better value than what you may find at most other places; the most shocking thing of all is that I don't have pictures for this! I was definitely skeptical about getting fried chicken from a gas station, but wanted to give it a shot based on the reviews I've seen. Well, I wasn't that impressed. We got the family meal with mixed chicken, chicken tenders, wedge fries, honey biscuits, blueberry biscuits and the cajun sweet and sour wings. The chicken was crispy, I like that it wasn't too salty, but the tenders were very dry and the texture of the wings were almost like they've been sitting there for much longer than we would like. The biscuits were hard, dry and very crumbly. Another note worth mentioning is that their sauce is 50 cent each and you only get one free if you order chicken tenders. Oh this place is great! It's my go to spot for fast, fried chicken after picking up my hangry children from school. Their chicken is moist on the inside and KRUNCHY on the outside! The seasoning (Cajun?) is amazing and it really shines. They have other food as well but I only tried their fried chicken. It's inside a convenience store so you can shop for your go-to snacks or drinks while getting yummy chicken. Customer service is great! I love fried chicken I must say and when I saw that the Valero is gonna have it. I was very excited I saw it open. This place is located inside of the brand newly renovated Valero gas station. Parking can be limited specially at its peak hours. There's also a car wash that adds to the congestion. I waited about an hour during its grand opening and I must say that it's worth the wait! The only reason why the line was long is because of its lack organization of the management. It seems like the wait could've been only 30 mins if they had proper management. I got the 12 piece mixed. It's was very crunchy and well seasoned. It was moist and very very tasty. The biscuits are soft and buttery and I heard that there's a secret menu blueberry biscuits but it was another 30 mins wait! They also have a chicken sandwich that I would like to compare with my top list. To compare with other fast food fried chicken spots I've tried. I would go... 1. Tied jollibee and krispy krunch 2. Roscoes 3. Popeyes 4. Churches. To sum things ups I would definitely come back for the blueberry biscuits. Gas station chicken an interesting take as I saw it passing by. Went to check it out and see that the food isn't bad at all. The chicken was pretty much in the places name crunchy and crispy while the wedges were alright for me. The shrimp and the fried fish were the best for me. I dropped in ~8PM on a Thursday and the young woman and older gentleman at the front desk helped with my order. They were kind, accommodating, and professional. I've heard comparisons with Jollibee and after this visit, I'm picking Jollibee's over Krispy Krunchy 10/10 times. We ordered the Family Pack and added the buffalo wings. We had to pay for sauce- yes pay for it. It does not come with the Family Pack; more on that later. Fried Chicken: The breading was nice and crunchy, seasoning was fairly salty. The meat was decent, not dry but not juicy. Chicken Tenders: Salty seasoning. Dry as chicken can be. Inedible. We gave up on eating it, even with sauce. Buffalo Wings: Sweet and Sour flavored. I'm not sure the process of ordering and getting it fresh, but we got the wings from under the same hot light as the fried chicken. Pre-sauced. Chewy, almost rubbery- like microwaving day-old WingStop that has a saucy flavoring. If you're picky about buffalo wings, do not get them here. Fries: They were ok. Big and thick, steak fries. Biscuits: Hard outside, very dry insides saps the remaining moisture in your mouth. Sauce: Honey Mustard and their house sauce. The latter is nothing to rave about. Each sauce is $0.50. We didn't realize sauce was extra until after we paid with our card. Since Covid, we try to use contactless payments as much as possible. Luckily, we had a dollar. There was a small sign that said something like "One free sauce with Chicken Tenders". I asked if we get one sauce for free since we have Chicken Tenders in the Family Pack... they said no because "It only pertains to the Chicken Tender meal". The chicken tenders are very good, the meat was juicy enough and the coating was thin, well seasoned, and crispy. Their sweet and sour sauce packet has more bite than the McDonald's version with a stronger vinegar and *reads ingredients* tamarind flavor. Not a big fan of how dry and crumbly the biscuits were but that's personal preference, the salty-sweet honey butter on top was interesting. The french fries are potato wedges with inconsistent thicknesses so some were noticeably unfluffy in the very center, but they were all cooked through and it's fried potato. My standards are low. Gas station chicken doesn't sound too appetizing but this place does a great job. The chicken was tender inside and crispy outside. The sandwich was not as good as Popeye's but was sufficient. The corn muffins were unique-- sweet-- so if you are used to more savory, this will be a nice change. The potato wedges were delicious and cook all the way through which is hard to do with large potatoes. They were fast and made everything perfectly. I love this spot, i have not had one bad experience with it yet. I could have sworn I wrote a review when it first opened but I just got back from another visit. MELISSA! was my customer service helper. She absolutely hustled from start to finish with the customers before me and my order. Even in between customer orders, she gave me notice that she would start my order soon. With constant movement and prompt communication, I must say that she is a very hard worker. I appreciate this, I am very customer service oriented and as an original customer of the old Valero, she deserves acknowledgement for her A+ customer service. I've picked up chicken twice now and tried a variety of other items: biscuits (sorta dry, mound-shaped), apple pie (fried, but a bit bland), potato wedges (Cajun-spiced and fat), cracklings (fun fried chicken skin with inconsistent batter ratio), mashed potatoes and cry (a better version of KFC's, but not that much better), mac and cheese (bland flavor), chicken sandwich (not competitive, don't get this, it's the stuff you get at an American public school cafeteria, I said "That's Whack" after eating it).
