    Garlic rice and fries
    Crystal H.

Not bad to satisfy seafood boil cravings. The sauce is a bit more sour than I preferred though. We walked in Wednesday around 5:30pm. It wasn't busy at all. Crawfish is big and fresh! We ordered a seafood boil combo to share and added on 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of clam. Later, we added 2 more lbs of crawfish. They cooked the seafood perfectly. Crawfish wasn't soggy and soft. The shell is still hard. The clams were big. We also ordered garlic fries, garlic rice, and garlic noodles. Everything was good. They have basic beers here like modelo, Heineken, corona, Stella, shock top. They also have Kendall Jackson wine: Merlot and Chardonnay but you gotta order the whole bottle. Try casual place. One restroom. I did hear they are closing down end of May.

Date: Friday, January 17th, 2025 Meal: Late Lunch / Early Dinner Delivery Time Ordered: around 4:15pm Time Delivered: around 5pm How Ordered: DoorDash Neighborhood Delivered to: Evergreen *Shrimp ($20.33) - 49ers (Thick Sauce, Little sweet, Garlicky and very Flavorful), Very Spicy *Frozen Crawfish ($18.93) - Very Spicy, House Special (Thick Sauce, Finger lickin ' good with our secret Ingredients infused with Garlic Butter) *Manila Clam ($20.33) - Shambalang (Little salty and sweet infused with Lemon Slices), Very Spicy I crave a good crawfish boil often. In SF, there aren't many options, so I tend to fulfill that craving when in SJ. I was on my own Fri afternoon and decided to DD some seafood in a bag. (When with the hubby or bro-in-law, I tend to avoid cajun spots as they aren't really big fans.) My fav sauce was the house special as it was the least sweet. I'm really into salty, garlicky, with a spicy punch in the face. The 49ers was pretty good as well, tho sweeter than I prefer. I know the shambalang is a recommended sauce, but it just wasn't my style. I want the savory and heat without too much sweetness. It was nice trying the three different sauces tho. I did end up mixing them all together in the end, which ended up being a nice combo. Each bag had a good amount of seafood. The shrimp were plump, the clams not too shell heavy, the frozen crawfiish on the smaller side, but a plenty, I like trying new crawfish places, so glad I sampled this one. Tho price wise, I'd say on DD, there are cheaper spots. Especially during their HH. REVIEW #3681

Visited this seafood boil spot after a workout and was not disappointed . It was 5 pm on a Sunday and we were seated immediately. The service was fine and we decided to split a combo 2 (between 2 people), plus garlic noodles. Everything was so good and altogether was more than enough food. Beware as the price of some seafood items are market-dependent, overall when I went it felt like it was worth it.

    Closed permanently :(

Very sad this place got closed. We've been eating here for a long time and I loved that there's no wait. Their crawfish is better than Boiling Crab (even though we had a few bad batches before). Very unfortunate! We need to find a new place for crawfish now (not Boiling Crab)

It was my first crawfish experience and I loved it! The sauce was bomb! Very low key spot.

Overall a solid place to get seafood boil, but not a place I'd go out of my way for. My friend and I shared Combo 3, which had 2 lbs of crawfish, 1 lb of shrimp, 2 potatoes, 2 corn, and 4 sausage. This was the perfect amount for us to share! We tried out the 49ers sauce, which was packed with garlic! Though it was advertised as sweet, it was actually quite savory and buttery. Pretty tasty! The shrimp was top notch! Cooked perfectly and they were juicy. However, the crawfish was just okay to me. Some were pretty big in size, but most were very small and possibly frozen (?)

This place used to be a solid 5 stars for me!! Throughout time, it's slowly decreased due to SJ Crawfish cutting corners and/or them serving not so quality foods. With today's purchase, it only solidifies SJ continuing to plummet overall.... My guy decided he wanted crawfish to celebrate Father's Day and we made sure to call in advance to confirm the business having LIVE, FRESH crawfish. I ordered in advance for take out and was told the food would be ready within minutes. 4lbs of crawfish & 2lbs of shrimp later... we are left with a handful of dead crawfish. Now, I get that things happen and not all crawfish can be guaranteed to be fresh BUT!!! This is unfortunately the 2nd time we've had take out where the same exact thing happened. When we dined in, this was not a problem. 1 star because there seemed to be some shady stuff going on. I'd recommend dining in so a fast one isn't being pulled on you and in case you happen to come across this same situation, bringing it to the staffs attention is so much easier.

Decent place for seafood boil. I prefer my sauce thick, but thought this one was little on the watery side. Still had a nice flavor though. Service is okay, and inside ambiance is okay as well.

My bf and I LOOOOVE coming here for seafood boil. The service is fast and our order always comes out right. We usually get combo 2 with their House Special sauce spicy. If you order the Cajun fries, ask for them well done!! They came out perfectly crispy with a good amount of Cajun seasoning. The restaurant has many tables for customers and there is usually no wait. It is very clean and well organized. Each table has butcher paper, utensils, and napkins.

    Allissa T.

SJ Crawfish has been my go-to spot since I was first introduced to crawfish here when I was younger, and I still keep coming back! Their SJ Style sauce is the OG, perfectly garlicky, buttery, and soup like sauce you can sip on. No matter how many other seafood boil places pop up, nothing hits quite like this. I also love that it's a family-owned business with some of the friendliest owners around. They always make you feel welcome, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The best part? It's usually not too crowded, which means faster service and fresh, hot seafood every time. If you're a crawfish lover or just looking for a solid seafood boil spot in San Jose, SJ Crawfish is definitely worth checking out!

Delicious seafood boil without the wait! We were able to walk in on a Friday night. SJ Crawfish has a lot of seating and they turn over tables efficiently. The crawfish were some of the largest I've ever seen. We ordered 1lb crawfish and 2lb shrimp but I saw on the menu that there are special combos such as Combo #3 (2lb crawfish,1lb shrimp, 2 corn, 2 potato, 4 sausage) for only $40.99. For the sauces we tried the House Special and the Shambalang. The House Special was my favorite out of the two since it was super garlicky and buttery. I didn't like the Shambalang because it just tasted like mostly lemon to me. WARNING: the spicy is actually pretty dang spicy. I was definitely sweating. I will be back to see if I like any of the other flavors!

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much

Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. This was my second visit, and it definitely didn't disappoint! This time, my friends and I ordered…read morethe beef bulgogi, samgyetang, and beef intestine soft tofu soup, and every dish was delicious. The bulgogi was tender and flavorful, and the samgyetang had a rich, comforting broth with incredibly tender chicken that tasted like it had been simmered for hours. I usually don't like soft tofu soup because many restaurants use too much chili powder or the tofu isn't very fresh. But this place completely changed my mind! The broth was rich and well-balanced, the tofu was silky smooth, and the beef intestines added so much flavor. It was honestly one of the best soft tofu soups I've had. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and you can really taste the authenticity in every dish. This place deserves so much more business, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

I was so surprised by the raw marinaded crab as a side dish and it was 10/10. The restaurant is clean, the service was friendly, and the portions were worth the price. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back!

This place delivered exactly what I was longing for.My order was ready in less than 10 minutes: fresh, hot, and perfectly crunchy. The shredded papaya and the savory sauce instantly brought back fond memories of school years past. Since it is a dish I cannot easily make at home, the price felt very reasonable. To top it off, the lady working there was incredibly warm, nice, and friendly. Eating here recovered 80% of my homesickness!

We came on a Saturday around 10:20am and the food court was already bustling. Ordering was quick and easy. When our food was ready, the cashier lady called out to us to come pick it up. We ordered.. BOT CHIEN KHOAI MON $14 -fried taro cake with egg. It's topped with shredded papaya, green onions and fried little bread croutons. Sweet soy dipping sauce, chili sambal and pickled shredded daikon / carrots were given on the side. OK overall, the taro cake was too dense and heavy for me. The dipping sauce was delicious though. I think I would have preferred the original rice cake version. The portion was kinda small for the price tag. 3/5* CHA CA CHIEN (2) $12 -fried fish cake taco. It's basically fish paste smeared on rice paper, folded in half and deep fried. It came with sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, different but again, hefty price tag for what you get. It's more like a snack. 3/5* The lady taking our order was super friendly. She gave us a free sample of their crispy rice with pork floss. She also noticed that we had our toddler with us so she asked if we wanted extra napkins, plates and water. I would come back to try their regular bot chien if we were already dining in the Lion Food Court.
