This is without a doubt one of the worst locations for customer service. Their Pharmacy is OK on the few occasions I've had to use it although they take a long time to full a script. Today a cashier relieved another one and presented herself with wet hair as though she just stepped out of the shower...it was disgusting and the whole time she's checking me out she's talking to a co-worker who appeared to be a superior to her from the conversation. I was standing ready to give her cash while she was staring at the monitor and then realized I wanted to pay in cash. Mind you no words were spoken to me at all until she asked if I wanted to round up (keep the change). She had difficulty counting my change back and I shot out of there with a note to self only to go back there in the event of an emergency the next time. read more

One of their newer pharmacists left me a voice-mail stating that my health insurance company had reached out to them concerned about a billing issue, it was very important that I returned his call. Confused, I called back. I heard the pharmacist tell the pharmacy tech, "Put him on hold, I'll deal with him in a moment!" Um, WTF?! Who does he think he's speaking to? So this A-hole gets on the phone and puts on this incredibly obnoxious authoritative voice and asks me if I've gotten my vaccine yet. Which I have, but it's really none of his business. He tried to tell me that my insurance company had called them asking them if I'd been vaccinated. That was in August, I've since spoken to my insurance company who assured me that not only did they not call said pharmacy, but to do so would be illegal and against HIPAA. This is not the first time I've had privacy issues with this pharmacy. From pharmacy techs asking about my surgical procedures, to one of the pharmacists inquiring about my prescribed pain medication. These pple seem to think they'll medical authorities, rather than the minimum wage pill-counters they are! Hey Kroger, If I have to bag my own groceries, or the cashier has to bag the groceries, I might as well just go to Walmart and save money. Having baggers that speed up the checkout might be the only reason I would come to Kroger. Waiting for bags to be packed is like waiting forever to get your check at a restaurant. While taking part in some last minute Thanksgiving shopping I knew that I didn't want to go to the grocery in closer proximity to my house, but close enough to not have to drive far back with time sensitive food. With a google search I found that this was the place I needed to be. I was prepared to still go through the huddle and bustle of busy aisle and long check out lines. You know, people just like me that wait until the last minute to shop for the good they need to make the biggest dinner of the year. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case. Yes, it was packed, but the lines moved along rather quickly for the time of day and the service was great. I think that I wouldn't mind making this my regular grocery location. Honestly the worst grocery store in Powell. They are always out of stock, self check out is never less than 10 people deep, every time I've ordered pick up, it's wrong. I always allow any substitutions but they'll claim there's no ham in the store. Or no cheese in the store. When I called to request substitutions, I was told 'if we have time'. read more

Really enjoy this location. In fact, I enjoy it more so that I drive the extra distance to go here than the one closest to my home. Customer Service has always been friendly, helpful and inviting. Very clean store. Large selection of grocery and household items. Nice wine and beer selection. Produce is fresh. Pastries are tempting. Meat counter has a good selection of fresh cuts. Floral department has great cut, fresh flowers for special occassions. Conveniently open 24 x 7. I love that Krogers has a phone app where you can load coupons to your Kroger card, rather than having to clip them. Then, when checking out, the take them off automatically. Prices are comparable to other local stores. Great place to do your grocery shopping. read more

This location continues to go downhill. On Sunday, probably the busiest day of the week, they consistently have two checkout lanes open, and maybe one bagger. Meanwhile, multiple click list carts block the aisles. Multiple items are out of stock. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment for continuing to shop here. read more

It's a Kroger's so you know what you get. I've had a love hate relationship with this one though. Loves: the staff is always friendly and helpful, great organic snack food section, pretty good sushi, great floral section and wine and snack area. Hates: No salad bar (WTW), have bought some bad chicken from them a couple of times, and their deli department is really expensive. But it all balances out in the end with the prices and the great customer service. read more

Hey!!! It's Kroger's! Not much to see here, folks! Well, actually, this Kroger's was fairly nice from the Kroger's I have ventured in from my past. The produce here was pretty decent and fresh, and while yes, Yuppies, this is NO Whole Foods, it still can suffice to any produce needs if desperation is a factor. I think I am wowed by the cleanliness of this place compared to other nightmare Krogers with mystery puddles on the floors and grey meats, but most importantly, I am wowed by the customer service. Unlike most places, when you ask if they have a specific item most cashiers will just tell you what aisle it is down. Well, since the store was fairly quiet the cashier went down that aisle and brought us the item we were looking for. Then, just two days later that same cashier remembered who we were and waved 'Hello.' Sorry cashier, I am so unaccustomed to great customer service, so please accept my apologies for the shocked, what the.... look on my face. Then, just a few days later, another cashier gave us awesome service, held friendly conversation, and bagged our groceries perfectly. Thanks Powell Krogers! If only all your other locations could be this awesome and attentive. read more

Right down the street from where I live is your all around neighborhood Kroger. I enjoy the interaction that I have with the employees there. They really make you feel at home engaging in conversation and more than just "hello welcome to Kroger" talk. Very clean and the shelves are always stocked. I definitely enjoy their wine tasting sessions which keeps the guests entertained while shopping. Kroger Plus reward points are exceptional especially when getting gas. It really adds up after while. The state liquor store has been added which is full of anything you can think of. That part of the store is truly active. I love the fresh produce and plenty of organic foods to choose from. read more

I love this store!! They have more items to pick from than that store I usually shop at (schrock rd). Their items are almost always stocked up (way better than Schrock Rd--you actually have to ASK them for some things because they don't restock them when they've ran out--yeah I have time to hunt someone down to ask for the fish I want and then wait for them to go to the back and go get it...NOT). When I didn't know where something was, I asked a young man working there and guess what, he actually WALKED ME OVER TO THE PRODUCT!! I was literally shocked. God's honest truth is that when I go grocery shopping I essentially have no customer service expectations whatsoever. So it struck me as odd one day when I realized that 5 out of the 10 worst customer service experiences I had endured in my entire life of 50 years had been at Kroger. I wondered how it was the Kroger managed to disappoint me consistently when my expectations walking in were to receive absolutely no customer service at all. So I reviewed my experiences for some consistencies and this is what I determined. The Kroger Strategy 1. Hire mostly highschool kids with a focus on this who have develped advanced skills in ignorance, rudeness, entitlement and apathy. 2. Place these kids in all of the customer facing positions so that inept kids are managing and supervisor other inept kids. 3. Reinforce that no cashier should EVER make eye contact with a customer unless it is a life and death situation. 4. Train them to ask customers how they are and wish them a nice day but make sure that they say it in as robotic a fashion as possible so that nobody mistakes it as genuine. 5. Make sure that the kid bagging your groceries has no clue what he/she is doing. Hire the guy with an inverse understanding of bagging (ie soft fragile things on the bottom with heavy cans on the top. Oh, and make sure to either only put one small item, or too many heavy items, in each bag. That way they will break on the way to the car. 6. Make sure that the only check out experience that the customer can rely on consistently is when he uses the 'You check out yourself' line. But hamper that expereince as often as possible by having the machines overseen by someone who walks in an alternate, and painfully slow time/space continuum so that whatever does get done, doesn't get done fast. 7. Hire the kid who clearly doesn't even offer to bag the groceries of the customer in front of you. Then, after she bags the groceries herself and walks over to the Customer Service desk to complain, make sure he goes over to argue with her that he didn't provide crap customer service......while he leaves you standing at the register half checked out with your card in your hand......for several minutes. Then have him come back and give you the same level of service that brought on the complaint. 8. Enforce the following strict rules of service: Never understand what kind of deli meat the customer wants the first time, and only rarely the second time. When you are standing in front of product that a customer needs access to, make sure to pretend not to see them waiting until they actually say something, then look like they are really inconveniencing you when you do move, if you decide to move. So I decided that Kroger doesn't get the hundreds of dollars that my family used to spend there each month anymore. Yes, I have to drive past Kroger to get to Giant Eagle or, (God help me) WalMart. Yes I have to plan ahead and buy in bulk at Costco. Yes I sometimes have to pay a little more on some things. And, yes, it is ENTIRELY worth it EVERY time. read more

DO NOT ORDER GROCERIES HERE unless you want your time wasted. I placed an online order, earliest pickup was 7pm. I left at 6:45 and said in the app that I was on my way. At 7, when I arrived, I checked in on the app and by calling. At 7:20, our groceries still hadn't shown up. I went inside and asked "Rob", who I assume was the weekend manager, if there was an issue. He informed me that the person who was supposed to bring the groceries out had called in sick and they'd called everyone to tell them to come pickup by 5pm. I told him I hadn't received any call. He told me that an associate wrote down that they left me a voicemail. I showed him my phone log and said I hadn't received a phone call or voicemail. He said I must have another number because they left me a voicemail. He would not bring me my groceries and would not let me retrieve them or cancel my order. He said I would just have to come back in the morning. I understand that things happen and people call in sick. I don't appreciate someone being lazy at work and lying because they didn't want to call and I definitely don't appreciate Rob's snarky and unhelpful attitude. I was home all day and easily could have come by 5 to get the order. But now I'm stuck at 8PM with no food and have to shell out even more money to get something because my $200 grocery order wasn't ready as Kroger said it would be. Waste of time and money. read more

This has to be the worst Kroger I have shopped at in 30 years. I have always shopped Kroger in many cities but this one is very disappointing. While the staff is very nice and friendly the store is not the cleanest and they are constantly out of items - not just one item but bare shelves. It is ssooooo frustrating because it happens every time I go into the store which is frequently with teenagers. I have given it a year but conditions are still the same. I am willing to drive further to a better Kroger store. read more
