No water? Blame it on tropical depression Cindy.
    Lou C.

Oh. Hello? Not a happy shopper here. I've never seen these many deficiencies at a Kroger store every time I shop here. Last Friday, I rushed out of meat departments after seeing those grossed sceneries. Why don't they put meat in the refrigerator? Yuk. Oh, data signal is really bad around here too. In order to read my shopping list on the Kroger app, I have to get to the front of store. No sure if they forgot to stock bottled waters or people mobbed the store before tropical depression Cindy. Not just missing water, but also strawberries and blueberries. This store looks pathetic. Pa-the-tic. I used to think this Sweetwater store was pretty good few years ago when I first discovered it. Then, it has been going downhill. The homeless shopping carts in the parking lot reminded me Westheimer Kroger's Store. Once awhile, a nice cashier or meat department clerk changes my perception after distasteful experience. **60th review of 2017**

This is the third time I've bought protein that was spoiled, from this location. The ground sirloin looked perfectly red on the outside but the inside was completely gray. The same thing happened with a package of ground chuck I previously purchased at this location. The salmon looked fine, wasn't slimy, and didn't smell while it was raw. But as it cooked, it smelled weird. I finished cooking it and (reluctantly) tried it, and it tasted just as weird as it smelled. I tossed both in the trash and called for a refund, which I can't get until I go back into the store

If you're looking for gluten-free, vegan, or other specialty products, the selection here is excellent. The store is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. A nice bonus is the Amazon return counter inside the store. You can bring eligible Amazon returns without packaging, and they handle the rest. One thing I wanted to mention for anyone trying to take advantage of the current Amazon Prime ice cream promotion (50% off pints through July 7): this location has had ongoing ice cream issues. I visited twice recently and found the freezers completely empty both times. On one visit, staff said they were waiting on a shipment; on the next visit, they explained that the freezer had broken and posted a sign stating that no ice cream pints were available for sale. So if you're specifically coming for the ice cream deal, I'd recommend calling ahead first or checking another Whole Foods location. Aside from that issue, it's still a great store and a very convenient Whole Foods for the Sugar Land area.

There just is nothing so overwhelming that the price per pound should be as high as it is. Salad bar items are 11.99 a pound. Olive bar, I would expect to be higher but not 11.99 as well. I completely understand and it's very well known that because of its organic food selections and quality that Whole Foods does selectively market to a higher economic demographic that is less price sensitive. However, I am in that upper demographic and I'm getting distracted by getting a salad and some olives and walking out of the store with a $35 bill. At this price, I can just eat at a restaurant, and a decent one at that.

So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

The Pancit and fried pork belly were my favorites, and I really enjoyed the suka for dipping. They give you plenty of rice, perhaps too much lol After eating, I walked around the store and was impressed by the selection of Asian groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and just about everything you might need, with a strong focus on Filipino brands. There's also a bakery and dessert section with halo-halo (always tempting), plus another vendor selling soups. The food court has a good amount of seating, though it can definitely get busy depending on the day. Overall, a great place to check out if you're looking for something you don't normally see. Glad to have this as part of the local Asian grocery scene alongside places like H Mart, 99 Ranch, and HK Market..

I told him no and he very rudely asked me to get the items. I was shocked with his rudeness as if I was trying to get things for free. The other employee next to him pointed to the far corner. Now, the "flank steak." As you can see from the picture, OVER half of the steak (blanched) is fat and membrane! It only comes packaged. I thought it had a thin membrane covering it, which would have been acceptable if it was over a long piece of steak. Didn't have time to go back. I arrived home at 6:30p and had to use it because the soup cooks for four hours and was being delivered tomorrow morning. (I hope that one star anise does not overpower the broth!) I should have had them unwrap it before purchase. Once, I bought a doong/joong/zongzi there that I unwrapped a few days later. It was moldy. When I returned it, no apology.
