I want to start off by saying that the food here is awesome and the coffee drinks are always good. Why I feel compelled to write this review is because I was so poorly treated by the baristas today. I understand that times are different with COVID and this industry is particularly stressful (I am a bartender and have worked in this industry for 10 years) but the blatant rude comments and negative attitudes of the baristas was kind of mind blowing to me. I was not rude or complicated. My aunt ordered a coffee and then went outside to hold a table while the rest of us ordered at the counter. The barista put the coffee on the counter in front of my sister without us noticing (we also didn't hear what my aunt ordered). After we paid and took our number, we asked if that cup was ours (didn't want to touch it if it was for someone else). Barista #1 looks at barista #2 as if I'm not standing there and says "I literally put that right in front of them and said caramel latte" and they both rolled their eyes. And then when I asked if we should wait at the counter for our drinks (not knowing what their rules were in terms of congregating near the line) she angrily replied "um yeah that'd be nice, we're obviously very busy."Again, I get that people are different under stress but that's part of this industry, treating customers with respect. When we asked to add avocado to our breakfast sandwiches, they became very annoyed and said that they "guessed" they could charge us for a side, which obviously we were willing to do. All around, I got the sense that they really wished we weren't there, which is a bummer bc I want to give local coffee shops the business. read more

I've heard the coffee and food are great here. Before I started yard work on a Sunday I decided to relax with a good breakfast. I caught a seat at the counter next to the cash register, a menu at my place. Looks good, the line disappeared then reappeared but still no greeting, no we'll be right with you, I'm sorry you order at the register just ignored. I'm still not sure of the procedure there's no signage no one bothers to greet you. Maybe they do make a great coffee and breakfast - so do a lot of places. I won't bother again. read more

Incredible vegan muffins, the blueberry are to die for!!! Went in to get a chi tea latte and was so thrilled to discover that they make their own vegan bagels. Then they pointed out the vegan muffins and biscotti. They also carry regular cookies and other baked goods. They have a breakfast and lunch menu with healthy options, not the typical diner food that you get everywhere else. Great place for vegans and non-vegans, something for everyone. Very friendly staff, so happy they opened up! read more

All I can say is that the last time I took a trip up to Glens Falls, I was regularly stopping at the old Coffee Planet. When I found out that Spektor had taken over I had to check it out. This may be one of the best coffee roasters that I have visited in the entire area. From time to time for a special treat (or if I am looking for a real kick from my coffee) I get coffee from Spektor. It's so luscious. I enjoy black coffee in various roasts, as long as it's fresh and good. I have never been disappointed. I haven't tried any of their specialty drinks because the pour over coffee is that good. However, one morning we had some time for breakfast, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I had the eggs with avocado on toast, one of my favorites now. We just dropped in for a shot of espresso. I had eaten here before under the previous ownership when the name was different. It looks like the same fixtures, menu and indifferent attitude was passed thru to the new owners. A shot of espresso gets you 1/4 of a little espresso cup. The previous owners tried to convince me that the tiny amount of espresso was in fact a double shot. I would hate to see what they consider a single shot. read more

I really love this place. I am all for supporting the locals instead of big corporations like Starbucks which has become the McDonald's of coffee shops. Spektor Coffee is classy and locally owned. Good and coffee is delicious. It's a quaint little place that gives off the so called "hipster" vibe but it's down to earth and enjoyable. My only real complaint about the place isn't even really their fault. Parking is lacking as it's right on the busy circle downtown. read more

Found the restaurant on Yelp. Really cute spot and really relaxing. I had Sunday brunch the smash up which is artisanal bread, avocado, crispy pancheta and poached eggs which was perfect for me. I also had a green tea which was excellent. The team was attentive and really nice. If you are in the area you should definitely stop by. read more

I ordered a decaf latte after waiting quite a while. The latte took even longer to make and was not decaf, I'm allergic to caffeine so I couldn't drink it. By this point it had been 15 minutes and if I didn't leave I would be late to work. I said I just wanted my money back, the barista became pissed and started giving me back less money than what I paid. When I pointed that out to her she argued with me until she found the order and realized I was correct. I said how rude she was and she actually said I started it first. The owner was standing next to her and when I pointed out the bad customer service to him (as if he couldn't see it) he did/said nothing. Very slow service and very bad attitudes by employees. read more

The place has a lot of potential. Its is too bad that their open hours are so bad and on top of that the employees won't serve you if you show up 10 min before close. They had a wonderful Crepe option but then took it off the menu? I really tried to frequent the place (I like supporting small businesses in our area) but the horrible customer service with the horrible hours of operation along with the kitchen closing at unpredictable hours (probably because the cooks don't "feel" like working at certain times) make this place a nightmare to go to. I wish they could do better business, but at this point it would be far better, for our little town, if they closed their doors and let someone else who is willing to work for their business take over. I truly hope this business fails; to set a precedent that lazy employees and management will never lead to success. read more

The best coffee shop in town. The coffee is roasted on site. The high quality hand-crafted drinks take longer but they're worth it: they are artful and delicious. Try the blue bottom (saffron cream and espresso with blueberries!!!) or a bulletproof mocha. All the baked goods are homemade and amazing. "The Fresh" is the best bagel sandwich ever: cream cheese, avocado and tomato with salt and pepper. So flipping good. Atmosphere is clean, friendly, and unique. I have been here numerous times and unfortunately seen the quality of customer service go downhill. As someone who lives with multiple food allergies, going out to eat is always a challenge although most places are quite accommodating. At Spektor's on numerous occasions when asked to remove cheese (due to a dairy allergy) or to be served with gluten free bread (due to Celiac) I have been told they were not sure if they could "do that" (with eyes rolling and smirks on their faces). When they had first opened, I asked if they had gluten free bread and was told numerous times that they had low glycemic bread (great - but one has nothing to do with the other). Initially they were willing to make some accommodations but they have become increasingly rude when asked to accommodate a food allergy (something entirely out of my control) and have added charges now to do so. This place is not customer friendly and couldn't care less about people with allergies because their attitude is that they have created the best menu ever and nothing about it should be changed. I am very disappointed to say that because of this attitude I will not be returning. Food allergies are not something that can be controlled and being treated like an annoying customer because of them only makes the situation worse. Also, their guacamole is incredibly sour and pretty disgusting. read more

I love the concept, but it is still falling short in my eyes. If they were to align conceptually with execution I would agree that this would be my go to every time. Like many places downtown each establishment has their regulars, but for here I would say their clicks. If you are in one of them, that's great and I am sure your service and wait time will be up to par...if you're not, be sure to plan your morning accordingly. Everyone has recommended their bagels, "best around" and "just like a NYC bagel". Perhaps I am a bit more particular and critical then your average breakfast grazer, but I wouldn't agree. Sure they appear to be fresh, made local and airy, but the flavor is flat. I want it to be spit glad affecting and utterly satisfying when I am done, not me searching for something else to inhale because it was less than pleasing. Even more offensively I find that my bacon, egg and cheese on whatever select bagel I am feeling that AM is so smothered in pepper that I can't taste anything anyway, not even my mediocre hot beverage that taste different every time because the staff and product consistency is off. Where in the "bacon, egg and cheese" part did I say "with a side of pepper?" All in all, its an OK choice but if you want a satisfying breakfast, with delectable bagels I would choose Cool Beans or Rock Hill every time. read more
