I'm disgusted with how we were just treated. We were a party of 5 and we were waiting for a table where we could have breakfast. Prior to moving a table over, the employee (a slender woman with short hair) barked from behind the counter all the way to the opposite side of the room by where the windows were that "you must order at the front." The last straw was when we tried to move a table over and she yelled (again from behind the counter) "you can't move the table to your liking." From one human being to another, you could have politely walked over and talked to us in a different manner without creating a scene. We immediately walked out without hesitation. Stopped in for coffee here a couple of times, breakfast once. Every time I come in it's a very pleasant atmosphere. All employees smiling while they work, even early in the morning. As I finished my order today, Kate on the register greeted a customer by name as he came in to order. It's one of those places where you're not just a customer, but a person. Went to Spector's coffee today to have a bit of breakfast. I have discovered the spicy breakfast BLT! RIDICULOUS maple sriacha bacon,fried egg,garlic rosemary aioli!! DELICIOUS dark coffee! Worst service ever. We looked up places to go in Glens Falls and saw this place advertised a great brunch. The owner basically refused us service. I walked in the back and started walking toward the front in search of the hostess...it was our first time there. After I walked to the front and then back again, I saw a man holding onto a chair at the only empty table left. I asked if he was holding it for his party since it looked like maybe it was a seat-yourself restaurant. He yelled at me that the seats are for people waiting in line and there were at least 8 people ahead of me. I said oh ok and walked again to the front to try to figure out where to wait and he yelled across the room again that the line started in the back and I couldn't cut in front of everyone! He was so rude that I walked out to tell my husband and daughter we shouldn't eat here. He said to disregard the guy so we walked back in and as soon as we got in line, he came over and said if we wanted to dine in we should probably choose another restaurant. We left and will obviously never go back. read more

I hate to give a place with such potential 2 stars, but after two awful customer service experiences within 2 weeks I am forced to. Examples below: 1. After arriving about 10 minutes prior to food service close (2pm) we waited while the barista showed their friends (customers) cat pictures from Halloween. By the time they got to our party is was 1:57 and they refused to serve us food stating that the kitchen closes for food at 2. I cannot even imagine turning down customers who frequent my location 2-3 times a week while just getting food to other customers. 2. After entering the shop to get a simple tea with the door open, I was turned away stating they were closed. Take a look at their hours, even on here, 4pm. It was shortly after 2pm with 3 staff members in the building. Not one person could pour hot water in a cup with tea? The above two instances were incredibly frustrating and for that those in my party will not be returning. It's sad because the atmosphere is nice and the food is decent, but without basic customer service skills you're nothing. read more

5 for their coffee and breakfast if you in. Expect to wait. The service is comparable to how people describe the millennial generation which seems to be consistent with these types of coffee shops. You almost feel self conscious to expect any type of service. Once you are able to order the staff warms up and the coffee makes up for it. Just a suggestion. Place a sign that reads "order at the register" so your customers avoid being ignored. We will continue to support this local spot as well as other good options like Cool Beans. read more

We loved this place!!! The service was friendly and prompt, the ambience was warm and lovely, and most importantly the food was excellent. We had The breakfast smash up, bagel sandwich, and cinnamon crepe - all really great! They made some perfect scrambled eggs for our 9 month old as well. And the coffee was heavenly- we had the mocha a the chocolate spice specialty, which was wonderfully rich and subtly minty. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately the service made it a subpar experience. We ordered food, a latte, and pour over coffee. I specified that we'd be dining in and even pointed to another customer's glass pourover setup to show that was what we wanted. However, for some reason both of our coffees came in to-go cups, even though everyone else had real mugs and glassware. Our food took a long time to come out and was cold. We are traveling home to Philadelphia after vacationing in Vermont, and were looking for a place with some local personality for breakfast, rather than just a rest stop. We found Spektor and I'm so glad we did. It has the kind of hip coffee shop vibe where you'd expect they wouldn't be too keen on kids being there, which made me initially hesitant, as we are traveling with a 3 year old and a 9 month old baby. But the ladies behind the counter couldn't have been more welcoming. They offered us crayons and tracked down some paper so my 3yo could color. Food came out fast - which was great both because of impatient kids and because we have another six hours in the road ahead of us. Grownups got bagel breakfast sandwiches which were delicious, and mocha lattes which were some of the best coffee we've ever had (and we are coffee snobs). 3yo and baby shared a fruit cup and we also got a yogurt parfait to go for the 3yo. The art on the walls was interesting, parking right in front, and plenty of seating during breakfast hours on a Sunday. We visit Vermont once a year, and I think we'll make this our breakfast spot for our trip home every time. read more
