Great Vegetarian!! I think my husband and I have tried every single Thai place that you can try via delivery services during covid. This is hands-down my favorite. My go-to-dish is green curry with vegetables and tofu. This is one of the only places that doesn't just throw in onions and bell peppers and call it "vegetable". This is also one of the few local places I found where you can order a side of the authentic sticky rice - a must-have! Orders are quite large which is usually two meals for me! There were literally 40-50 different dishes to choose from and all of them seemed pretty legit. I ordered the Tom Kha soup (which is a coconut milk spicy and sour soup), Pad Ga Prow (ground up chicken/pork over rice), Pra Ram (vegetables with meat in a peanut sauce), and mango sticky rice. To make a long story short, I was impressed with each dish! The soup had a nice broth and I made it level 3 spicy on a scale of 10, which is perfect for my non-spicy food loving self. I love this spot & I'm disappointed I didn't find it sooner! Especially since my daughter's school is so nearby. I would've been coming here to get my Pad Thai. They have the best Pad Thai noodles. I usually order mine with no meat but extra veggie. They put so much extra veggie & a good variety too. Not just the same ol broccoli, carrots, & bell pepper. They give baby corn! Which I love. The food here is delicious. I've tried the yellow curry & the mango curry. Both are super good! I also tried the Tom Kha soup which is just perfect for cold days. Been meaning to drop by here for the longest time back when it was Orange Thai, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was this now. Very friendly employees and the place itself looks nice. Ordered a Thai tea (pretty good) plus their green curry w/tofu on a medium spicy level. Food came out pretty fast, freshly made and hot. I really enjoyed my meal with the calmness of the business and area, and I noticed some customers being able to get food to go as well. Exterior: It is in this small strip plaza, and easy to miss if you drive. The parking is limited and only a few cars can really park there. Interior: It's a small restaurant. Very cozy great when you are going by yourself or and possibly a group of no more than 5-6 people. Seating is also limited due to the size of the restaurant. The restaurant itself has menu items pictured all across. You can honestly view them by the time you step up to the door. It is quite convenient for anyone who wants to visualize the food rather than assume how the food looks. The cleanliness of it it pretty tip top. She was wiping as she was getting my take out ready. Food: Chicken Satay: So you get 4 skewers with peanut sauce and Thai cucumber relish. Based on the flavor profile, it is great. If it's not enough seasoning/flavor for you, trust me: use the sauce it adds a different depth to it that enhance the original flavor of the satay and adds a slight creaminess to it. I definitely would recommend this for any beginner exploring the world of Thai cuisine. It's great, because it's not overly sweet like some places where you can definitely taste the sugar on it. Had the right amount of zest to it. Papaya Salad: There are 2 ways they offer the papaya salad: original or Laos for an extra dollar. For anyone who want's to know the difference -- Thai papaya salad uses fish sauce and Lao papaya salad uses fermented crab. Both are a wonderful but in this case I ordered the Lao version. It was not too sweet and wasn't too "umami"/salty. I prefer mine on the spicier side, but since my mom was eating it had to be at a lower spice level. Based on her words: "it's really good, I haven't been able to find good papaya salad since that stand shut down in 2011." So thank you for providing me a place to get papaya salad for her (especially near her work.) It's hard to find a good place for her since her palette is so selective because of her consistently cooking and sharing with people. Tom Yum: Like many items on their menu. you can adjust the spice level alongside with protein. In this case I ordered it with mixed seafood. I would have to say that if it on a scale of 1-10 on spice level. I recommend going no further than a 3/4. Reason being is because you will lose the actual flavor of the soup. The soup itself with the seafood mix was delicious. Definitely a favorite of mine when it comes to Thai Soup. Comparing it to other restaurants, the portion was big. (Of course it was the pot size for mix seafood.) I personally believe that it had the right flavor of spicy, sour and it was quite fragrant. Staff: This girl (I don't know her name and I wish I got it) she is so funny. Her interaction with the other workers there were on the level of family/best friends; and I personally love seeing that in a small restaurant. Wow this place is amazing! I'm staying in San Diego/National City area for the first time and didn't feel like going out to get food after a long drive from LA, so I ordered delivery to my hotel. Their beef pad see ew and pad thai both had awesome texture and taste. A good serving too. we also ordered their curry puff, flaky and flavorful... And their pineapple fried rice (minus the pineapple) had a great curry flavor. So yes, their food is amazeBalls! Unfortunately, I have to -1 star for presentation.. My spring rolls were served on a glass plate. Our cups were glass. But the food was served on paper plates.. 2 different kinds of paper plates.. Food in previous pics were also all on glass, not paper plates. And earlier pics show tablecloths covering the tables and placemats, both not there now.. Also, the bathroom is in a closet like space. Our lunch orders also didn't come with salad, soup, egg rolls, like I thought It would (bc it was indicated on the menu)... But I'm willing to overlook it all bc the food really was good!... When leaving, the lady that prepared our food was really interested in knowing if we enjoyed our food and seemed to really value our opinion, which I appreciate. Four glaring issues made me give this less than glowing review. 1) Placed a 5 item to-go order via Yelp and discovered they shorted my order 1 entree item requiring me to go back to pickup the forgotten item [no apology or complimentary food was offered for inconvenience or their error], 2) dining area cleanliness was nowhere to be found [sure glad our order was "to-go"], 3) restaurant parking is slim to none [closer to none], 4) I saw a lined kitchen trash can on the floor in the kitchen in plain view with uncooked chicken breasts on top could be seen from the dining area [not refrigerated, could be for future orders not yet cooked, or bad chicken to be thrown away--either way, it should not be seen by the general public]. Maybe they changed their cooks? Food isn't what it used to be. The pad Thai seems lower quality, and others as well. I've been coming since the covid days and it was still good. (April 19th, 2017) My sister and I, went here for our very first time. We saw that a lot of people were recommending this Thai restaurant despite it being small with a very crappy parking. We're on an adventure looking for a favorite Thai restaurant so we can regularly come & visit. The owners (wife and husband -- I assume?) are very nice, especially the wife. We saw the husband twice, but once we placed our order he disappeared. Throughout the service, the wife gave us an impeccable attention, then again we were the only ones there. Cheesy Crab Wonton Wraps [Crispy & comes with 6 pieces] (appetizer):Not a fan of this. It has real crab filled with cream cheese and green onions. The wonton wraps were somewhat crispy/fried, but it was warm when it came out of the kitchen. The cheesy fried wontons came with a chili sweet & sour sauce which helped overcome the odd filling. I wouldn't get it again. Tom Kha -- coconut based soup with tofu (you can change the choice of protein): I really love coconut milk stuff, and this is by far my favorite soup I've tried as far from other Asian restaurants. It's very rich in coconut that the broth itself is very white, and the kaffir lime enhances the lemony flavor notes along with real lemongrass (if you find it, don't eat it). The tofu was silky and soft. Papaya salad: We got a mild spicy for this. It was actually nicely presented. The addition of fresh, roasted whole peanuts tasted great with a subtle amount of fish sauce. This salad was refreshing, but slightly on the smaller side than I had expected. Crispy Pork Special: The plate reminded me of chicharrones. The crispy fried pork wasn't too salty, but the sauce on the bottom was a bit too much. The Chinese broccoli was tender and good. The rice definitely helps out with saltiness. We were weirded out with the fried egg on top, but it was runny and it oozed nicely over the rice. We'd get this dish again. Thai Tea: Really good, and it was complimentary (we weren't sure for what reason?). For me, it's been a long time since I had Thai tea, and I forgot to mix it. I usually drink normal hot tea. Overall, I'd come back to try more stuff. We spoke the wife about offering duck, and we understand it was just too costly. But she was just too nice.
