I ordered a turkey sandwich. It's really hard to ruin a turkey sandwich unless.... You burn the bread, KNOW that it's burnt and still serve it to a customer. Disgusting sandwich. They just don't care.

A quick stop breakfast when you're in the go with lots of different options. I usually just stick to a classic bagel + cream cheese which is bang for buck. I do prefer veggie bagels in the morning, but their veggie bagel is really overpriced and almost 3x the price of a regular bagel + cream cheese and nearly the same price as all their lunch sandwiches. I've tried their pre-made breakfast burritos which sometimes hits the spot but other times I think it may have been sitting there awhile and is not super fresh.

Stopped.for a toasted pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was not toasted and otherwise boating and uninspiring. The kind you prepare yourself under 2 minutes at home from cheap and generic ingredients. Not stopping by here again.

This place is good for a quick bite. There's free internet and the food typically comes fast. Their lemon bars are pretty good but not the best. There's an assortment of food and drinks to pick from. It's open pretty late which makes it a good place to get food if you are on break for for one of your night classes at Berkeley Community College. Their bagels are either a hit or miss. Sometimes they come nicely prepared but other times they come with barely any cream cheese and unevenly spread. I attached a photo of my disappointing bagel I recei today. Update: I was on a 5 minute time restraint and starving and I knew this place was close by. Luckily, it wasn't busy so today their bagel was better prepared and pretty good. I still wish they were more friendly though. The man who made my food handed it to me without even looking at me, but he made a decent bagel with evenly spread cream cheese. The other man who rang me up didn't seem very friendly either.

Still gulped my Thai ice tea down but this is not a medium this is a small

It's convenient due to the fact it's next door to my School BCC. But other than that the items on the menu are over priced. Ordered a medium Thai iced tea and a raisin bagel, I was unsure if the bagel was blue berry or raisin so I asked the guy behind the counter what kind of bagel is it he had an attitude and was snappy with his reply, then, when I asked if he had strawberry cream cheese he seemed even more agitated. Oh! And the medium Thai iced tea portion cup is not a medium sized cup it's a small smh which cost me $3.50.

I like that I don't have to walk too far. It's nice clean and safe spot to get a cup of coffee right before class and reasonably priced.

Charged me $4.50 for an unprepared bagel. I can get that from bagel street cafe two blocks away for 1/3 the price, lol. Won't be back.

One of our coworkers recommended Gather, a large, farm-to-table restaurant, so five of us ventured here for a business dinner. The food and service were definitely 5 stars. Great laid back vibe. We came on a Tuesday night and yet the restaurant eventually got busier through the night. My favorite dishes were: Yellowtail Sashimi and Corn Riblets are both great appetizers and full of flavor. We should have double ordered to split among five. The half roasted chicken had crispy skin and was fairly well seasoned and moist. I don't indulge in desserts as much these days but if split a few desserts among five people you get 1/5 the calories, LOL! I recommend the warm bread pudding, pecan sundae, and salted chocolate chip cookies. In case street parking is difficult (it often is in Berkeley!), the restaurant is located right next to Oxford Garage which has a low flat fee for weeknights.

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. Would come back to try other items, especially dessert.

I've been here for date nights, holiday dinners, business dinners, and countless meals with friends visiting from out of town. It's one of those rare restaurants that seems to work for just about any occasion. The service is always great, the College Avenue location is hard to beat, and I've always had good luck finding street parking nearby. The ribeye is my personal favorite and what I order more often than not. If you're coming with a group, the cheese and charcuterie plates are a great way to start. The menu is varied enough that there's always something for everyone, and I've never had a bad meal here. I was genuinely sad to hear that they'll be closing at the end of the year. Restaurants with this kind of quality, consistency, and character are increasingly rare. If you've never been, make a point of going while you still can. I'll certainly miss it once they're gone.

They did partially redeem themselves by comping our meals due to their error and additional time we had to wait, but you would think they would not make such a blatant mistake in the first place. Sloppy service for sure. It apparently wasn't our waiter's fault, who was super friendly, but some manager or somebody, who did completely the wrong thing without double checking, and grabbed our food and set it down on some other patron's table, who I guess then began eating it. Seriously? The food has always been good here but the atmosphere super loud and echoey, not good. So, needless to say, I'm glad they are closing. It's just unfortunate that they are leaving somewhat bad terms with me.

The sandwiches come with a side, so one plate we did fries with a house-made aioli and the other plate, their quinoa kale salad. Delicious. Such hearty portions! The bread is so fresh, the meat juicy and ample, and flavors just right. We also ordered beer on tap, shoutout to Oakland United, and tried their house-made hot sauce that they also sell by the bottle. Would love to come back to try brunch here too. I also saw a patron ordering the quinoa kale salad with fried chicken, and yes, that's the vibe! Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity, and street parking available (although the restaurant is located at the bottom of Solano where it tends to be a bit more busy). Women-owned biz, and they also were on Check Please! Bay Area.

My family made reservations, which are hard to come by. They need to be made well in advance. We arrived before our 8:30pm reservation and, unfortunately, weren't seated until after 9:00pm. Once inside the dining area, it was lively and loud, intimate, and somewhat more formal compared to their upstairs cafe. Service from all staff was kind; the host occasionally stopped by; our food was delivered, and we were checked on throughout. It was also lovely to peek inside the open-air kitchen. If you dine in their dining area, it's prix-fixe. On my Mom's birthday, they had a salad, pasta, steak, and ice cream. The salad was good--I don't eat mushrooms, but found it tasty and a bit over-dressed. My favorite was the pasta, a little spice. Warm from the noodles but cold from the cheese--the shrimp was nicely cooked. For our entrée, we had a rib-eye. I don't eat steak, but for this occasion I did--it was good, but because I rarely eat beef, I couldn't compare it to other rib-eyes I'd had. The vegetables were good and quite fresh. I gave the ice cream to my family since I don't have dairy, but the fruit was great! Overall I enjoyed more dishes than others. The bread and drinks were also good. I'd be curious to come back for a different prix-fixe. Chez Panisse is a must visit once restaurant in my opinion--whether you're local to the area or live in the Bay Area.
