We were in the area doing our own mini pizza tour, and I had to ensure that our route took us by Murray's. I was hoping to get to try some of their in-house made charcuterie or mac & cheese bar, but our indulgence in nearby pizza places unfortunately left us too full to take on anymore. The shop itself is very well laid out with more options than you could ever imagine. The shop stretches back down a few steps and around the corner where they have much more than cheese. They have excellent options to put together at your whole charcuterie of any size here. They even have some premade options in their cold case if you're looking just for a quick snack for one or two people in a nearby park. I did pick up two options when I was in the store and I will say that both were exactly what I had come to expect for Murray's- delicious. Luckily, or unluckily, I'm not in the area otherwise I think a high amount of my money would be going to the shop.

This review is for the pasta making class with cheese tasting. This was my second class at…read moreMurray's. I've also taken many cooking classes at other spots- Taste Buds being my fave. This class just did not need the standards of other classes I've gone to. The reason I gave this 3-stars is because what you get for $100 is just not worth the price, plus the final product was inedible. The class consists of giving you flour and eggs to make the pasta, then roll it (which was super rushed), a "cheese tasting" (three tiny portions of cheese with some pesto) and unlimited wine (sparking white and red). You then bring the pasta home to cook it (with the instructions to use a fork if you haven't had enough time to roll your dough, which some didn't). I made the pasta when I got home and it was completely inedible as was the person's I went with. The instructor was nice and the room is beautiful, which is why I added a few stars. They're also great about making sure that your wine is filled up. Overall, I would not recommend for this price, especially when the end product was a throwaway.

So yeah, I stop, purchase (without sampling), and dash to my intended dinner. As I slurped my EAK ramen, I thought of the gouda. During my commute home, I thought about the gouda. And then: I tasted the gouda. Whoa, mama! As the block gets smaller and smaller--seemingly by the second--I plan my next purchase (coconut? truffle? guacamole?). Decisions, decisions :)

They have a busy brunch on Sundays and they are doing World Cup watch parties for Switzerland, France, and Belgium teams. It was satisfyingly melty, full of true truffle taste, and quite yummy. It came with pieces of white sourdough bread, which were nicely chewy. The sausage also came with purple grapes, as well as a piece of carrot. Sausage was succulent, juicy, and well seasoned. It was a perfect dipper for the fondue. I would have also liked to have potatoes with it, but each additional ingredient were priced a la carte, so would have to pay more. I wasn't really a fan of that set up and think that each fondue should have included more than just bread. Service was solid. Our waiter was personable and helpful. We were well taken care of throughout. Prices were reasonable, though fondue can get a little up there, depending on what you order with it. I would be open to returning to try the Cheeseburger.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with nothing but warm hospitality. Our server was incredibly friendly and even asked if we had a show to get to so he could expedite our food. So considerate! The prix fixe was really good value - starter, main, desert AND a bottle of wine for $99! The salad was really tasty, I liked the warm walnuts and the figs added a nice contrast of texture and sweetness. Of the other items in the tasting board, I really enjoyed the Kashkaval cheese. We didn't opt for any add ons/fondue dippers with our fondue, so only had bread. While we did feel full at the end, next time I'd go for an add on for more variety. Highly recommend and can't emphasize the warm hospitality and great service enough.
