If my calculation is accurate this place can house over 50 guests at a time. Neat place with huge paintings of different cuisines on the wall matching the restaurants wooden table and chairs, very cool ambience. Very chic, very beautiful, very relaxing. Those walls are so instagrammable. Free wifi and free parking. Good for group, family and kids friendly. Accept major credit cards, debit and cash. Excellent service few tables occupied when i came but still the server was very friendly. Washrooms needs a slight make over and more effort to clean and sanitize. At a glance at their menu you will thought of them as very affordable but the catch in here is.... for the skewers say 0.99c cheap but then it says there minimum order is 10 pieces so thats $9.99 plus tax. Just be mindful of those items. I got the beef tendon skewers, minimum of 5 pieces, tender and some part were juicy and just melts in your mouth, somewhat addictive it was just so good. then I also ordered the squid tentacles- this one minimum of 10 skewers, to be honest tendons were so good but i love this one better, juicy, not gummy and the spices they put, just awesome, every single flavors explode in my mouth, my yelper taste buds were so happy and satisfied. The best, it reminds me of the street foods in the night market in Richmond. Fried rice serves really hot, fresh and newly cooked, still smoking, smells so good, i got the seafood fried rice, presentation was so nice but taste was just the regular chinese fried rice.. nothing really special but not bad. Pork chop this really blown me away, the best pork chop i've ever tasted lately, Thinly sliced and breaded then deep fried served with powdered spices looks like paprika, cinnamon and hot chili, Smells really good, crispy outside and tender inside, blending of the spices and the meat was just awesome. Food quality based on my orders were 4-5 stars For sure the pork chop will always be a part of my order everytime i'll visit this bbq place. Frogs and crawfish are available in here, but they are expensive and huge serving for group, I am alone when i came so not advisble to spend that much money....Alcoholic beverages are available. I admired this concept of bringing Chinese street foods on the table....KUDOS! I have no problem with the service my orders came into a timely manner. Pricing: A bit pricey in here but worth. Noise level is average. 100% I will visit again.......

Had a great time at Kuan Zhai Road on Kingsway. Located across from Chosun, this BBQ spot isn't as busy as the kbbq or happy tree down the street. It's still very tasty and has plenty of seats and cool AC. We got an assortment of skewers, noodles, appetizers and fish to share. My favourites were the cold tofu, beef skewers and the fish. They also have a robot that brings you your food!

This time I ventured out to the Vancouver Kingsway area to try out Kuan Zhai Road's Chinese skewers. They have a great selection! Aside from skewers they also serve fire pot and a variety of Jiangnan China dishes. We ordered the Chicken / Squid Tentacles / Beef/Lamb / Chicken Wing Skewers + Spicy Clam & Vermicelli + Butter Corn. Most of the skewers use a similar dry spice rub that really flavours them up! The chicken and chicken wings have a sweet honey marinade to it that was pretty good as well but the wings did lack a bit flavour inside and could have used a bit more time marinating. A very meat filling meal and we were all stuffed by the end!

Kuanzhai Road Restaurant was one of the restaurants I was excited to come to when I visited Vancouver because when you say Kuanzhai, you'll think of the Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu. I was excited to try its BBQ skewers and other delectables. Sadly, whatever was served here did not make me think about that one bit. Kuanzhai Road is in the Burnaby region and is one of a few Chinese restaurants that open super late. I came here after 10pm looking for a quick bite and had planned to come back for a fuller meal during the daytime, but we did not come back. When I first came in here, it immediately didn't feel very comfortable. There was this sticky feeling. The table was sticky and I kept staring at the black plates and chopsticks questioning their cleanliness. This restaurant serves the typical Chengdu fare along with BBQ skewers. The skewers aren't cheap and you have to order a minimum amount, so it's difficult to try many things. I wanted to try something that I couldn't get where I was from, so I ordered lamb kidney and lamb testes. They were $4.99 per skewer and I had to order two. For both the skewers, the meat was in larger pieces. Both kidneys and testicles were prepared so, so poorly. They were both tough, dry, overcooked, had no char, had absolutely zero salt, and poorly seasoned. There appeared to be a lot of spices and seasoning, but I couldn't taste any of it. Both the meat and the seasoning and spices felt like they were all expired and old, and all the taste and flavor has gone. They were terrible!!! What an utter disappointment! We also ordered a bowl of rice noodle, and the old and expired theme applied here too. This bowl of noodle soup had slices of beef, beef tripe, and beef stomach, and they all had an off putting taste. The broth almost had no taste. Did this restaurant run out of salt or something? It was a sad and dull bowl of rice noodle soup. This was an awful experience. The quality of the food was well below average, and the preparation was the same. The service was nonexistent, and failed to really listen to us. Everything just felt gross and the food was gross. We just wanted to finish and get the heck out of there! This was by far the worst experience on my trip!

Another BBQ place named after famous CHENGDU tourism place, open late for supper so we decided to give it a try. Service is very good, not easy during the pandemic season, a lot of restaurant are having less waiters to save cost, but they still have full team working, need to support for local business like this. The restaurant is very big, has parking at front, but very limited. Talking about the food, i loved the Tofu, the small lobster and the lamb. We were told their BBQ fish is very good, need come to try next time.

I came to this place upon the recommendation of my friends. The value of this place is above average since their portions are generous for the prices. The flavor of the food is also good. However, unless you ask for low-sodium or no MSG, the food may taste a bit on the over-seasoned side. I found myself needing to constantly drink water after visiting this place. Also, the wait is very long, so come early or reserve a table.

Everything was either really salty, spicy, or both. Skewers has the same flavour, and were expensive. The doors to the washroom didn't lock. To add to it all, I ended up with a bad stomachache when I got home. By the way, most items on the menu were spicy.

Our first stop in Vancouver was at Kuanzhai Road Restaurant. The menu was in both Chinese and English but not everything had an English translation so I had no idea what to order. The waitress recommended chuan chuan xiang (串串香), normal spicy level. We also ordered frog legs (2), lamb skewers (5), bacon and garlic oysters (2), and bacon and garlic scallops. Once we ordered the food, the waitress had us go to this section of the restaurant with refrigerators that contain skewers of all types (ex: chicken, lamb, beef, enoki mushroom, pork, etc). We picked up a few and put them on a tray to be sent to the kitchen to put in our chuan chuan hotpot. The chuan chuan hotpot tasted really good but was too spicy for me. The frog legs and lamb skewers had a slight kick to them but were nowhere as spicy - thank goodness! I thought that the frog legs tasted very fresh and soft. The oysters and scallops were delicious, sweet, and fresh. Overall, I enjoyed the food and don't have any negative feedback as far as quality, taste, amount, and price goes. The restaurant's customer service could be improved. The waitress almost overcharged us. The table didn't have any utensils on it so we had to ask for them. These aren't huge issues. We will likely come back and keep a close eye on our tab next time.

This was the perfect place post-Ironman triathlon for my bf to really fill up! He ended up grabbing so many ingredients that the server had to bring his soup to him in TWO BOWLS. I too was overzealous and was only able to finish half of my hot pot. The endless amount of veggies, mushrooms and plant-forward protiens available made it all too easy to pick too many ingredients. The restaurant is pretty big and they have some big tables but all the tables had only one pot hot pot which makes it hard for people to eat. I wish they had multiple pots for bigger tables so that it was inconvenient. Other than that, their service was pretty good and they also had a really good AYCE deal for $39/pp! We got their two flavour soup base - spicy beef and tomato soup base. Their meats and veggies were all fresh! They had a massive self-serve bar with sauces, tofu, fried chicken (which was delicious), noodles, bean curd, and other items. It was a good selection! You also get dessert in the AYCE menu with two options - vanilla ice cream and coffee pudding. I got their coffee pudding which was not bad, but it tasted AMAZING when mixed with the vanilla ice cream so I would definitely recommend that.

I calmly told her with a smile that we didn't, as we are all allergic to chicken. Instead of an apology, she stomped away and slammed the receipt in my face. After reviewing it and realizing she was wrong, she simply blamed her coworker and didn't offer a single word of apology for her behavior. Beyond the attitude, the food quality is a bait-and-switch. The first batch of meat was okay, but every round after that was inedible, greasy fat. They take forever to serve you because they are too busy fighting with customers. Save your money and your sanity--stay away from this place.

The beef roll is way too fat with barely any lean meat on it. The sauce bar is also a little dirty compare to the Richmond location. But it was cleaned shortly after. The soup bases are the same, with the same level of spiciness. All the ingredients are cooked properly, which is pretty nice. The food came pretty fast, and the service is standard.
