Heard a lot about it, but either came by too early, 10:45 or on a bad day. On my way back home up to North county and made a point to swing by. Limited options, but ended up with a 2 item combo of Pinakbet and Kari Kari. Both lacked the deep flavors. Kari Kari had a weak peanut butter flavor, hardly any vegetables and no tripe. Gotta have tripe! Though the vegetables were fresh on the Pinakbet, again lacked flavor. Lucky I had some spicy bagoong to fix it up a bit. I've been coming to this restaurant for years under different owners. It was first known as Conchings, then Erlinda's, then now as Kujo's eats. Joel, the new manager, has kept the same great atmosphere and service; the food is better than ever. The food is a mix of Filipino and Hawaiian cuisine and gives you a home cooked comfort food feeling. They are very generous with their portions, and everything is freshly made. My favorite is their lechon and sisig. The meat is very tender and juicy while the skin is SUPER crispy. And make sure you save some room for their halo halo dessert. First of all, I want to congratulate the owner. He is definitely a down to earth type of person. Great attitude and great for business. For my visit this morning, maybe it's a hit or miss but the Longanisa was not up to par and cold. I was super excited about the breakfast addition and finally got to visit. I cant say the experience was the greatest. Good music though. + The fried rice and corner beef with potatoes is definitely a hit. The longanisa, ehh..maybe Im just not a fan. It definitely did not make me feel like I was at home nor tasted like the sausage I know. Maybe the taste would have been better hot or warm. The customer service was simply not there this morning. This person is dismissive. I expected a thank you but didn't realize I was never going to get it. I blame it on how early it is. (8:20am). Not everyone is up to par in the morning. I love a good sisig. Flavor is always on point. Not too salty and a perfect citrus and vinegar to cut through the fat. Only made in small batches so it stays fresh. And if your lucky when they've just made it fresh and that chopped up lechon is crispy?! You've hit the jackpot! I've tried several locations. The balance of onions to actual lechon ratio is perfect. Attended Kujo Eats' Soft/Grand opening last weekend. Kujo Eats has a buffet style ordering system and can choose from a 1, 2, or 3 item combo plates. My family and I shared a 2 item combo with chicken adobo and kare kare, a side order of sisig, lechon kawali, pancit and lumpia. We also tried their halo halo and it was just the perfect amount of sweetness! The food was very delicious, their portions were huge, and prices were affordable. After putting it off for awhile.. I finally found the time to get to visit Kujo's. I had just got off my graveyard shift and did not want the typical fast food joint. I saw that Kujo's was opened per Yelp so I gave them a call and sure enough Kujo answered the phone. The phone call was extremely pleasant because Kujo had such patience as he explained the menu and the ordering process with me. I did place my order ahead of time since I was already heading that way. I will break down the rest of the view per category! Initial experience and customer service: Initial experience from walking into the restaurant was fantastic. I immediately felt home vibes and good music to match. I was greeted as I had entered but I was still kind of shocked because I did not expect the very "homey" feeling I had got walking in. I went down the steps to where the food counter was and Kujo was there to further explain more of the food that was displayed. I was familiar with most since but it was nice to have someone explain what the foods were because there are plenty of dishes I have still yet to learn about. As my food was being packed away Kujo and I had a very nice chat about the restaurant and his vision for the restaurant. I had then paid and expressed my gratitude to him and before I was on my way I got to meet Jun/June (The chef making the magic I have yet to describe). They were both very nice and they even commented on my sweater because it read "Cheat Day Everyday". Overall the experience was very nice especially after a long shift and definitely was a pleasant way to coming to the end of my day Now what you are probably looking at my review for... the food! I had ordered the 3 entree combination which consisted of the fried rice, eggs, tocino, corned beef, and sinigang. To be honest, I am extremely picky to corned beef and sinigang because I'm so used to how my mom makes it when I visit my family. Fried Rice: It had a great consistency to it. It wasn't too soft/mushy or too hard as if were overcooked. As I type this I realize I never gave rice this much thought before but this is what happens when you eat good food. However or whatever they add to the fried rice is amazing. Eggs: Eggs were nice and fluffy with tomato and onions. They definitely were also very good and a nice pairing with the rice Tocino - Tocino was very tender and the right amount of sweetness for my liking but still had the savory aspect to it Corned beef: As I mentioned before I'm very picky with corned beef after being spoiled by my mother. I was very surprised because it was very delicious. Within the portion I received I can say the ratio for potato/onion/corned beef was just right. Neither of the ingredients had overpowered the other. What really surprised me with the corned beef compared to other places I've tried was that the amount of grease, this actually goes for each of the entrees I had ordered, I say this because the amount of grease was very minimal compared to other restaurants that have layers of grease on top of the food. Sinigang: I love my sinigang sour and it is hard to find a place that makes it sour. The sourness is usually very mild to the point where there should have made tinola (another soup) instead. THIS SINIGANG THOUGH! Let me tell you.. I got a spoonful of the broth and after the first sip it had me doing the happy food dance. This is the sinigang I've been looking for since I moved here roughly two and a half years ago. It also had pork spare rib and some leafy veggies To wrap it up or tl;dr The experience from ambiance/customer service to the actual food. They all are top notch and this just may be one of my favorite places to eat. I look forward to visiting again and trying lunch/dinner food OR their halo halo since I do have a bit of a sweet tooth! read more

There are not as many choices at this spot compared to other "Turo-Turo" spots but I heard the food here is really good. I like how there's an option for a one item combo since I don't eat much so I tried their Lechon Kawali. What I like about their Lechon Kawali is that there's only meat and skin. There's hardly any fat on their lechon. It was worth the jump in my cholesterol. I heard that their spaghetti was good too so I had that to go. I was expecting to see hotdogs in their spaghetti, just like any other Filipino spaghetti but it didn't have any. This was the same place as Conching's in good old days. Then it became Erlinda's and now Kujo. The food doesn't taste the same though. We ordered Laing, lechon, okoy and chicken bbq. Everything was bland, lacks seasoning. Laing lacks the spices. Okoy was weird- potatoes were cut into chunks instead of grated or sticks. Okoy with celery- that's definitely different but not Pinoy. It was soft not crunchy. Lechon sauce tastes like bottled sauce diluted in water. If you're looking for authentic Filipino food this isn't it. Halo halo tastes the same as Erlinda's with better snow ice. Only difference is the amount of serving and lacks Ube halaya. No not coming back, once is enough. read more

My wife and I ate breakfast here and it was really good. My wife is Filipino and she said this place used to be called "Conchings" (not sure of the spelling). They serve breakfast in the morning. We had longanisa, fried egg, tortangtalong, sisig, and they gave a sinigang sabao. It was yummy. There's no garlic fried rice, but you can get plain rice or fried rice. If there was garlic fried rice, it would have been extra amazing. :) Between the both of us, we had a 3 plate combo and another entree, and we spent about $30 after tax, plus $5 for tip. read more

My first time coming here I wanted to write a 5 star review for the friendly atmosphere, caring workers, and delicious food. However upon my second time visiting I was upset to find that I was overcharged for the food I was getting. My friend and I got the same things we had our first time here yet the price was drastically different from the first time. (Our first time here we had two, two item combo plates and two drinks with our price being around $28 the second time we had the same things but this time our total was $41). The only difference was that we were given a small side of soup we didn't ask for but were grateful to get as we thought maybe it was the worker being generous and just offering us soup on the house ( again we did not order it but the worker put it on our tray without asking). I didn't want to cause a scene and say something as the line was getting long. I'm just hoping the person at register made an honest mistake and charged us wrong. I will be visiting again and ordering the same things to see if I'll be charged differently again. ~The food is still really good though. read more
