Kukje Bakery is finally open, right across from Kukje market. The salt bread isn't good. You have to heat it up to make it soft. The pastries with cream were aright like the strawberry cream and blueberry cream pastries. The chocolate melon pan was dry and stiff. Service was nice at least. I wouldn't come out of my way for the baked goods. BOGO starts at 7 pm to close. Good deal if you want to try a bit of everything. 8 pastries was $24.

A great addition to this plaza! With all the popular bakeries popping up lately, it only made sense for Kukje to open one too. And if you've been avoiding it because of the crowds, good news: they've most definitely finally mellowed down! Salt bread is all the craze right now, and that's mainly why I finally stopped by. My friend told me they had really good salt bread, and she was not wrong! The salt bread is delicious, and the bonus is the huge selection of baked goods. I had such a hard time not letting my eyes do the ordering for me. What I Ordered: 8 pieces of salt bread (purchased individually, not as a set) Crème Brûlée Donut FOOD: 8/10 The salt bread was perfectly salted and buttery. The inside was soft and moist, and I loved the nice toasted crunch on the bottom. The Crème Brûlée Donut was perfectly sweet, and I loved the custard filling inside. I'd definitely order it again! SERVICE: 8/10 Standard, straightforward service by a bunch of youngins. I was actually surprised by how many staff there were. I was expecting maybe 3-4 employees? AMBIANCE: 8/10 I actually found it to be pretty spacious. There's a seating area across from the ordering counter, plus a large island filled with additional baked goods, mostly different breads and cookies, beyond what's displayed at the counter. It's a nice setup if you want to browse before deciding what to get.

Pastries here are buy one get one after 7 PM! I love Kukje Bakery- their donuts are delicious and have a nice crisp texture and their croissants are nicely laminated and packed with cream and fruit. I was ambivalent about their melon pan bread- the shell was a bit hard, but that might come with the territory of pastries sitting out for a full day. Their chocolate salt bread was a let down as it lacked the crisp bottom and airy interior- I would recommend Tano, the Buoy, or 85 degrees for a more authentic salt bread! Their savory items are also delicious too- I liked their chicken apple sausage bun a lot. Very authentic Korean food.

Food: 3.5 | Service: 5.0 | Ambiance: 4.0 The newly opened KUKJE BAKERY located in the neighboring mall from their market was a was an eagerly awaited event. Spacious, bright, clean interior, they offers a small seating area for those not on the run. The baked goods are plentiful and varied. The daily fresh bread is a welcome offering. Coffee was good. What did I try: PLAIN CROISSANTS - Surprisingly Decent and nice to have In the neighborhood. CHOCOLATE CROISSANT w/MANGO FILLING - This was good but seems a bit oily? CINNAMON TWIST - Usually like this but seems oily as well. TOMATO SAUSAGE PIZZA BUN - Loved biting into this and savoring the tomatoey tang but I was stopped short when I realized the sausage is a hot dog. Know Asian buns with hot dogs are popular in bakeries but definitely NOT a fav for me. Also should be labeled as hot dog, not sausage. Excellent choice for those who savor hot dogs. COUNTRY LOAF (Pain au levain) - Was like a regular loaf of bread. Nicely baked, maybe great for sandwiches but that's it. ROSEMARY FOCACCIA - Smelled great, texture was more pillowy but didn't hit it for me. QUICHE LORRAINE - This was a big surprise! This Kukje Bakery quiche is not like a traditional quiche Lorraine but was a Korean take, and more rustic. Whereas a traditional quiche incorporates all the ingredients to bake. Their quiche was layered with the bacon and creamy accompaniments on the bottom with a generous fluffy, eggy layer on top. Appreciated The crust was flaky and yet held together very well. Not quite quiche Lorraine but all together, totally wow! Rich, tasty and filling. Definitely would buy this again! Did not try the more photo-popular baked items. But I'd return to KUKJE BAKERY for their QUICHE LORRAINE, PLAIN CROISSANTS and to try some of those beautiful looking pastries. See you there!

I will say the pastries are pretty expensive here so come at 7pm when they have their BOGO free! I bought so many pastries to try and I will say my favorites have been garlic bread cream cheese, matcha melon pan, and smoked salmon toast. The breads have all tasted pretty standard compared to 85. They have other things here too like cakes, sandwiches and loaves of bread. I haven't personally tried them as they're not part of the BOGO deal but I heard the red bean bun was pretty standard tasting. The staff were pretty nice and patient with customers. The place isn't very loud and has some seating by the door.

Located across from Kukje Super Market, this is a stand alone bakery operated by the aforementioned market. Cozy vibes with wooden accents & furniture along with art featuring different cities. Unlike other Asian bakeries, you select what you want and an employee behind the display case places it on your tray. There was salt bread available, but I decided to pass since they looked like deflated dinner rolls. Our order: Sweet Potato Bow Tie ($6.50): +Adorable! +Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside +Not too sweet +Large: Good for sharing -Small amount of sweet potato filling Café Latte (16 oz - $5.00): Hot, Whole Milk +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Strong coffee balanced with creamy organic milk +Cute latte art -I noticed that it was similar in size to the 12 oz Café Mocha, so I decided to ask the barista. He insisted that it was 16 oz and that he's "measured the sizes with water before"... Café Mocha (12 oz - $5.00): Less Sweet, Hot, Whole Milk +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Cute latte art -Not sure if it's b/c I requested less sweetness, but there was a whisp of dark chocolate Side notes: 1.) Self-serve condiments, napkins, and utensils 2.) Indoor bar and table seating 3.) Restroom available for customers 4.) Free parking lot *Verdict: Loved the vibes, but the coffee & pastry were just okay for the price.

Bright clean interior, tons of freshly baked Euro-style pastries (croissants, breads, etc) with a slight Asian twist to many of them plus donuts and cakes. There is a dining area where there are tables and counters with chairs to enjoy your treats. Service is low key and courteous. I searched high and low here for something not too sweet nor too fatty, so I settled for a red bean bun. The bread and crust were on point, and the red bean filling was generous, and a bit too sweet for me They have Japanese-style melon pans here too which actually looked great, but I wanted one without any filling.. As their mothership - Kukje Supermarket was across the street, I brought my lunch from there over here to consume. They didn't mind.. Same owners! All said, it was a tad disappointing, but I guess I just wanted something more plain that day.

We stopped by here after our shopping trip at the Kukje Market. We were happy to see the Happy Hour Special, which it's Buy One Get One Free after 7PM. I asked the employee if I can mix and match. She just looked me and totally ignored my question. She was very unfriendly and rude. I bought eight baked goods for $24 with the discount. The Garlic Bread Cream Cheese wasn't garlicky and the cream cheese was kind of on the light side. The Chicken & Bacon Baguette was very dry. The outside of Sweet Potato Tapioca Bread was too chewy. The Sausage Vegetable Bread was on the heavy side and too greasy. The Creme Brulee Doughnut and the Chestnut Half Loaf were ok.

I've been here a few times now, I had to try a variety before leaving a review. The place itself is big on the inside and they keep it clean. The first time I went here it was later in the afternoon on a Saturday and there was a line. Upon entering there was hardly anything left. I decided to come back the next day and arrive a little earlier to see what they had. There was quite a few to choose from, pastries we tried were amazing. I went last week on a weekday and it wasn't too busy, there was a handful of people that came. This time around all the shelves were full. Here's a list of items that my family and I have tried: 1. Coffee cake: Nice thick and big size. It had perfect amount of crunch/crumble and cinnamony sweetness. The pastry was moist. For the price it was worth it. It's a lot bigger compared to other coffee shops. 2. Almond cookies: Thin, crunchy, and not too sweet. It reminded me of a cross between almons cookie and a peanut brittle. 3. Salt bread: Soft and fluffy 4. Strawberry croissant: Over rated, it had way too much going on. You have a strawberry croissant with whip cream on the inside and outer edges had fresh strawberries. It's a little difficult to eat. The strawberry croissant itself tasted good. I think you lose all that with all the extra stuff. The croissant isn't even the star anymore. 5. Chocolate croissant: I felt like this was just for the picture as well. It looks good on the outside. Instagram worthy but when you cut it in the middle, there is no chocolate except for one small section. 6. Matcha melon pan: I liked this but I feel you lose the matcha flavor with the red bean filling. 7. Crème brûlée donut: I was disappointed with this one. It lacked the crunchy burnt glaze coating outside. It honestly looked sad like it was half cooked/done. I only purchased it because I love crème brûlée. 8. Mango donut: Pretty on the outside but disappointing once you eat it. It had one little piece of mango and the filling inside fell short. It didn't taste like mango. I'll definitely skip this next time. 9. Matcha marble cupcake: 1st of all why call this a cupcake when it was more or a pudding cup. It was delicious but I didn't care for the red bean on top. 10. Chocolate cream cupcake: This had the same issue. No actual cupcake. It was good and chocolatey. 11. Coconut cake: Nice consistency, it reminded me of a bibinka. It just threw me off that it was lemony. I was looking for at least a hint of coconut. What I've noticed from trying these items, if it looks too good or picture ready. Don't set the bar too high on expectations for taste. Pastries were mediocre at best. I think the only thing I'd come back for is the coffee cake. I purchased other items for my family that I didn't try so I didn't leave feed back on those. They weren't too impressed that they wanted to come back for more.

Stopped by since we went to the Kukje supermarket right next door. We came around 2 and many prepackaged things were already sold out, but lots of pastries and donuts still available. The strawberry croissant and the sweet potato croissant looked beautiful! So colorful and huge -- I had to try. I was so impressed by the texture of the croissants. They were crisp and not soft/stale or soggy at all. The lamination was also excellent. The flavor of the sweet potato cream inside was also SO good -- very unique and not too sweet. I'd definitely come back for that. The strawberry one was pretty and still yummy, but not as unique (tasted similar to a strawberry cream sando). Overall very happy with these! At around $7 each, they are beautiful and definitely satisfy the pastry craving. Would love to come back to try more offerings (they have so many donuts, basque cheesecakes, cakes, salt bread, dubai chocolate cookie, etc.)

Kukje Bakery just opened a few months ago, and I've been wanting to stop by every time we drive past. I finally had the chance yesterday, and there were so many baked goods to choose from--I honestly wanted to buy everything! Chocolate Donut: Unfortunately, this was our least favorite. The cream had a noticeable sour taste and wasn't sweet at all. We couldn't figure out what gave it that flavor. Chocolate Croissant: Really enjoyed this one! There was a good amount of chocolate both inside and on top. Crème Brûlée Donut: Soft and delicious, with a nice cream filling. This was definitely one of my favorites. Overall, I'm glad we finally stopped by! There are still so many other desserts I want to try, so I'll definitely be back.

I finally had time to visit this place in the morning. When I entered, it wasn't crowded, and the line wasn't too long. The pastries looked fantastic, and they tasted great. They do offer seating inside, so you can eat there. While the staff is friendly, I noticed that when people are waiting in line and a product sells out, they replace it first. If you have enough items on display, your focus should be on managing the line. I understand presentation matters, but customers waiting should be attended to first rather than replacing a sold-out item like a mocha bun. Overall, I enjoy the bakery and recommend it for a coffee meeting or if you like a morning bun or coffee cake--they have those.

Was so excited to hear about Kukje's new bakery because Kukje was my favorite Korean supermarket. Unfortunately, the bakery did not meet the same standards. Although the pastries and donuts looked good, they were not very tasty and quite expensive. I heard about the viral salt bread and thought I could finally try it to see what the hype was about. Nothing special... just plain salty outer layer bread with a slight butter taste on the inside. The bread was not crispy either. My toddlers wanted the mango croissant which was huge! Aside from the mangoes on the top, the middle was all cream. The croissant was not crunchy either. My husband thought the garlic cream cheese bread was decent. I did not feel it was worth the calories. Service was okay. Workers were not very attentive. There was a sign that said to line up here so someone could assist. Instead of checking to see who was first in line, they just helped the other customers who cut my family in line because they went up to look at the pastries. General courtesy would be to ask who was next in line. Due to that, we waited for a helper who saw us in line but just stood there for a bit. Almost like she was absented-minded, then realized the customers were waiting for her to assist. Glad she at least put on new gloves before picking up our pastries. The thing I did like was how they had a seating area for customers to enjoy their pastries and coffee. It was pretty quiet for the most part. So far, not the best first impression but they had only been open for one month. Would try again later on once they settle in and hopefully read their feedbacks from customers to improve.
