Cutest place ever ! They have great ambience , huge space they utilized well with murals and art . The ice cream and waffle were perfect for super hot days . I enjoyed picking onto my toppings and making my little combination . This was a fun experience and yummy one of that . Area is clean and well kept . Service was kind and friendly they were helpful in selecting what I wanted since the menu is huge !

This is my second time here after a few years. It used to be cheaper so I was a bit sad it went up $2 to $10.75 . Nonetheless, the ice cream here is still as good as I remember! We got the Vietnamese coffee with a bubble egg waffle. You get 4 toppings as well and the options are endless. The inside is a bit bare with not a lot of tables so I don't know if this is a great place to hang out with friends. I would still come back for a sweet treat and think Kuma is worth a try!

It was my birthday, and I wanted to stop somewhere for Dessert. I googled Dessert near me, and Kuma came up. I am so glad I did! The Egg waffle with Mango Ice cream plus strawberries was amazing. I am picky when it comes to everything. This exceeded my expectations.

Fresh, hip atmospheric and sweet, patient staff. It was not too busy when we went yesterday (Wed) at around 6. Their menu is only accessible via a QR code on their window or the big menu board and they have so many options (snacks, food, ice cream and drinks) so it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. When we approached the counter, the amazing cashier was more than happy to answer our questions and even let us sample the ice cream flavors we were considering. While our party ordered one at a time, the kitchen staff got to work on our orders so we didn't wait long for the ice cream to come out. The presentation is definitely a 10 out of 10 but... It's pretty pricey for the ice cream- 9.75 for a waffle cone or 6.75 for a small cup. Either one will come with 1 flavor, 4 toppings and a syrup of choice. All of us enjoyed our treat, but if I'm honest the texture and flavor didn't blow me away. I got strawberries and cream with various toppings which were cute, but it's not better ice cream than say Marble Slab or a real creamery. My dad let me try his waffle cone and it was like an eggy waffle flavor but with a Pancake texture. You can save the 3 bucks and do without it. Overall it's a great spot for kids and we'd go again! Just know their impeccable vibe Is the main reason people go. Next I'll try the boba instead

I had a small cup with vanilla bean ice cream, caramel, and cookies and cream pocky. It was delicious and gone within minutes. The place is cute and the price wasn't too bad for the quality of ice cream I received. Would definitely visit again.

A few Fridays ago, my girlfriend and I wanted to catch up on the week and decided we'd like to treat ourselves for her birthday. I had never been to KUMA before and browsed the unique and tasty arrangements of ice-cream within a waffle or cup on the Yelp-o-Sphere. The ice-cream looked amazing (thanks Yelpers) and within the hour we were seated in a cool little spot with the aroma of sweet gooey goodness wafting in our noses. The cashier saw the glazed look in my eye and was very helpful and let us try different ice-creams before we made our final choice. Our waffle maker was also helpful and explained his process while I took notes for my review. Wanting to ensure my waffle was just as gooey as the previous one he made, I watched the waffle-making process as the skilled creator made unique combo after combo while I took my time thinking of my add-ons. While the menu seems to be made for the ice-cream lovers, it also boasts cold drinks, ice cream, as well as hot snacks to include, my Japanese Favorite, Gyoza, Wing combos, Mac Bites and Jalapeno poppers. While I studied the board, we choose a delectable combination of Caramel Truffle Ice-cream enclosed in a soft warm waffle. I decided to add an Oreo, toasted marshmallow and cookie crisp cereal to the mix, along with a caramel drizzle to sweeten the team. My girlfriend created a close combo but added strawberries to hers. The combination was mouthwatering and such a treat on a warm day. The waffle had just the right amount of gooey goodness that didn't get soggy and melt my ice-cream while we caught up on the week. Normally, I only see sweet treats like this on Guy's Diners and Dives and I'm so excited that it was a short 15 minutes away from my home (located on 1604). I would definitely recommend this location and indulgence and at $8 a winning combination. Don't walk... Run to get you a KUMA Creation. Highly recommended AKA as Da Islandgal29412

There's something about craving ice cream when it's 90+ degree outside lol. Coming from MD, my girls and I have been on the hunt for a good local ice cream shop that has mix-ins and/or adds non-traditional toppings. Good ol Yelp to the rescue! Kuma boasts about 20 flavors of ice cream and specializes in serving them with Hong Kong style waffles (those soft puffy waffles). You get to pick a sauce and up to 4 toppings for $8.75. Note that a unicorn lollipop counts as 2 toppings. If you opt for the waffle, your ice cream is served in a Chinese takeout container. It's super cute and a really fun way to repurpose those containers! I love not having a traditional crunchy waffle cone cuz those can break or leak. My eldest and I have been twice & brought my youngest along for the second trip. Together; we've tried 5 different flavors of ice cream (all made in house) and they were all oh so good. My only recommendation/nit pick is that I kinda wished they mixed some of my toppings into the ice cream (like cold stone or marble slab). Either that or give me more surface area (larger Chinese takeout container??) so that I can scoop/mix my toppings better. Kuma will definitely be our go to for a treat day!!

Have been here a few times already and always enjoy the ice cream treat. I get it with the waffle, which is soft and not super sweet. The ube cheesecake flavor is delicious, but there are several more flavors that look good I would want to try. The boba tea is also delicious here. Staff is friendly and patient, and they let you try the ice cream flavors if you can't decide!

Our ube ice cream few second after it was handed over to us, before it started to disastrously melt away.

Sweet treats and a few selection of savory items and appetizers are always good here. However, last Friday when we visited around 6:20 PM, the service was terrible. I purposely let it go for several days before I finally post my rating and review so that my negative feelings would at least be less and hopefully not affect my review. But still I just can't let this chance to pass by without reiterating how incompetent and unprofessional those young ladies were. We ordered the waffle with ube ice cream as well as an order of Taiyaki with red been paste filling and an order of Takoyaki. We expect the young lady cashier to at least ask us if we want to wait to have our ice cream order since they still need to prepare the Taiyaki and Takoyaki, but no, about a minute after we paid for our order, our ice cream is ready. I really expect that the Taiyaki and Takoyaki would be available soon. But again no, the ice cream already melted and still there's no Taiyaki and Takoyaki. After about five minutes or so, I followed it up with the young lady on the cashier and she said it's being prepared by the other young lady inside the back kitchen. We noticed that the young gentlemen left and went out and later came back with food, most likely their dinner. Still we don't have our savory orders. I was expecting that out Taiyaki and Takoyaki would be piping hot since they had to prepare it that long. When we finally got it, both orders were just warm and it seems like it's been standing for a while or perhaps these young ladies just forgot about it. My cousin approached the young lady to report that our ice cream is already melted and the young lady seem to be not caring at all and don't know what to do. Bad customer service there. Good thing one of the young gentlemen talked to my cousin and "really" listened to my cousin and replaced our ice cream order with a fresh one. Whoever that young lady is, she was wearing a pikachu hat on and her other young lady companion, they are both unprofessional and absolutely lack a sense of good if not great customer service. The two young gentlemen were way better with their customer service skills. Not sure if one of the young gentleman is a manager or a team lead but definitely these two young girls are unprofessional. These young girls seem to be not caring at all and seems like they are just there to collect their pay check. The place still look clean and well kept. The food and the ambience are still on point but because of these young ladies unprofessional customer service, my rating went down to only three stars. I just hope that the owner or the managers would look into this and see who that young lady was, she was wearing a pickachu hat, she needs to review her customer service skills and common sense and needs to learn from their two young gentlemen shift companion last Friday afternoon/early evening of June 30. It was just unacceptable, period!!!!

Great visit today! We knew we wanted to visit here for dessert. We ate at Sea Island Bandera and visited after dinner. We passed on the bubble waffle cone because we usually don't finish it. We got coffee crunch ice cream with chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, rainbow mochi, fresh strawberries, and chocolate pocky sticks. Satisfied my sweet tooth!

Y'all, I have a really bad habit of wanting to eat ice cream after eating dinner at a restaurant. Usually, I just make myself do without, but today the thought of trying out a "new to me" place got the best of me. My family and I had just finished eating a delicious seafood dinner close by, and all of us agreed to try some ice cream here. It didn't take much convincing to get them all on my side. This place is really fun. You pick an ice cream. You pick a sauce. You pick 4 toppings. You decide if you want it in a cup or a waffle. My advice... Go for the waffle. They are not just any old ice cream parlor waffles. They are shaped with balls that are about 1" round. They kind of pull apart as you eat the ice cream. They are slightly sweet, warm, and scrumptious. My choices were dark chocolate raspberry truffle ice cream, chocolate syrup, and 4 chocolate pocky sticks all in a waffle. It came served in a little Chinese takeout box with the spoon tucked in the back. You can see it in the pictures. I really liked the dark chocolate raspberry truffle ice cream. It had crunchy pieces of dark chocolate all through it. The ice cream was gooey and rich, indicating that it is made with a heavy cream. The chocolate flavor was intense, and the raspberry knocked it over the top. My wife had the same ice cream, but took a different approach to the finish, as you can see in the photo with the oreo. My son opted for the green tea ice cream with condensed milk, Fruity Pebbles, and gummy bears. Both enjoyed their treats, although I cringe at the thought of hard cold gummy bears in my ice cream. I have to say I was really excited to see condensed milk as an option. When I was a kid, we weren't very well off. Mama bought the cheapest melorine or ice milk she could buy. We used sweetened condensed milk right out of the can as our topping. I'm going to get that next time, but it didn't sound good with dark chocolate raspberry truffle. I am going to be back often. Especially after eating seafood at Alta Mar close by. It will also be a cool down treat after I do any volunteer work at Government Canyon Sate Natural Area.

We had breakfast tacos, waffles, coffee, and a few other breakfast items, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was especially good. What surprised me most was how much more this place is than a restaurant. The atmosphere reminded me of visiting a family home that has been lovingly preserved for generations. There is so much history throughout the property, yet it still feels warm and welcoming instead of formal. I was also impressed by the gift shop. It's packed with Pioneer products, baking mixes, Texas-made goods, and unique souvenirs. The bakery case alone is worth checking out because the desserts are enormous and looked amazing.
