This place was okay. I came here with some friends but when we went, the ac was out and it took a minute to be served. The fans were okay but it was hard to be there for more than a ln hour. It is a big place and there wasn't a lot of people there. It was nice to not have it be too crowded. In terms of the food, my friends liked their dishes. I didn't love mine though. I got an octopus rice dish and it wasn't too good. The octopus was not cooked well and it didn't feel like the rice was flavored beyond a lot of cheese. I don't think I would come back here because the plaza does have better options, but it was fun to try once.

Great service by Milton, our bartender and server! We had a reservation for a big party and splitting checks was not an issue. I parked at the nearby garage C. The first two hours are free. Drinks were good. For my meal I had the asado tira and it was just ok. Each entree comes with two sides. I liked the ambiance and chill vibes. Later at night this place turns into a club/party. We're old and left before that I would come back for happy hour soon!

Found this on yelp and was excited to check it out. Arrived around 6 Host was busy, looks like they have a special event. Said at 7p they are closed for a private event. I said we only have 1hr of Free Parking. She was able to accommodate us. In the corner of the restaurant. Place is clean and spacious Mojito was not up to par. Entree came out before appetizer. An appetizer and 1 entree is good for 2 people. Ordered Saltańas which were good Milanesa was good however feel like it needed some kind of sauce to accompany it.

They seemed to be short staffed so it took a while to get our order taken. The drinks were a bit too sweet but great presentation. The food wasn't great, I ordered the milanesa and the bandeja paisa and the food did NOT taste fresh. The beef from both meals were super tough and hard to chew however the beans and rice tasted really good. DJ was great but a little disappointed with the food.

We planned to have dinner with some friends and wanted to try something new and outside of the typical places we go to. Kumbia offers a variety of South American dishes. Everything on the menu sounded so good, that it was had to decide. Kumbia is located in Rockville Town Center, so it's a great spot to have dinner/lunch and walk around and enjoy the area. During this time of year, the ice skating rink was open also. Parking garage is usually the easiest. Grab a ticket and its about $2. Some restaurants validate, however, Kumbia doesn't, but not an issue. The ambiance and set up was pretty cool and colorful. They have music playing and the bar area looked really nice. Our server was really nice, just would've been nice if someone checked in a bit more. We walked in around 4:30pm and it was pretty empty. It started to get busy around 6:30. They also have late night dancing, which my friend and I are interested in checking out one day. We ordered caipirinhas mango and lime. They were delicious. The lime was a bit strong, so I grabbed a passionfruit one after, which was perfect for me. The mojito was ok. It was lacking something, maybe more of the mint? We started with fried yuca, which was delicious along with thr dipping sauce. We ordered the empanadas, chicken and beef, which were both delicious, but I always prefer a beef empanada. We also had the fish patacones, which had small pieces of fried fish topped with a mango salsa, all on top of a fried smashed green plantain. It was so good!! We then had the cazuela de frejoles. It had beans with chicharon topped with plantains and avocado, with a side of rice. It was super flavorful and the plantains were perfect! Not many dessert options that day, so we opted out. Overall, I really loved Kumbia and would love to come back and try other items on the menu. They definitely offer a variety of different options that differ from some of the typical places in the area.

Came in on a Thursday night around 10 PM expecting them to be closed but nope they are open until 2 AM . On their website the hours are until 9 PM. The DJ had Latin music playing and the bar was clean, very few people were present. Since it was kind of late I settled with Ceviche Tradicional Peruano & it sure did hit the spot with the citrus from the juice and paired well with the sweetness of the potatoes.. reasonable portion of ceviche. Not to mention the Negroni was pretty strong so be aware! Delightful atmosphere to be in if you're in the mood for dancing too :)

My friend and I came for happy hour, Mondays-Fridays 3:30-6 I believe. The inside decor is cutely decorated with florals and they have lots of screens to watch current games. We decided to sit at the bar and get some drinks! I really like that their happy hour offerings are really affordable around 6-7 with a lot of fruity options to add to your mojitos or Calpirinhas. I got the guava and the passion fruit and both were definitely on the sweeter side with the fruit juice! It really covers the taste of the alcohol. We got the marranitas which took a little bit time to get to us but I didn't mind since they came very fresh and hot! The shells were crunchy and the meat and plantains were fried perfectly. Really big fan of this place as a new happy hour spot! Their menu offers food from many countries and showcases a little flag to tell you where they're from!

    Marranitas ( dry, no flavor)

We decided to check out Kumbia based on the reviews, but we left disappointed! Celebrating the Colombian Independence My girlfriend and I walked in and waited patiently for a table, it took 20 minutes for someone to approach us. We decided to sit at the bar instead. We immediately felt the room temperature being hot, NO AC, only fans were blowing within the restaurant. Understanding that they were busy and shortstaffed. They had a live band and dancers performing. -We ordered marranitas for the appetizer 3 pieces in a order but we ate only 1 it was dry with no flavor - cazuela de frijoles - too salty - pandeja paisa - steak was dry, flavorless and tough, frijoles was salty, chicharron was hard and oily returned a 80% full plate I asked for the check and let the bartender know our that we were not satisfied with the dishes and why did he charge us a 20% late night fee? This was 2pm in the afternoon. I asked if anything can be done to the check? Nothing at all No discounts, no removal of any item and the included fee was still on the $89 check Paid and left. We won't be back. Hope they do better!

Enjoyed a Sunday afternoon lunch with friends here. The food was good, and a large variety of menu options. We shared two apps and a plate of food and it filled all three of us. The front door is a challenge to navigate for folks who use wheelchairs. But the staff assisted. Once inside, the place had nice decor and ambience and we were served promptly.

Good service, and food was good. The vibe was fine, but I feel like it's better at night. There was a service fee that day as if it was an event? It's worth going though.

The meal I had here was ok. I liked the empanadas I had. I also got a Colombian sample platter with pork belly, grilled flank, rice, avocado, arepa, yuca and eggs. The food didn't really taste fresh - it was dry or overly chewy. I probably would not get this entree again. However, the service was good and everyone was friendly. I can see it being a lively spot in the evening.

Amazing food. Tastes homemade. I got the manestres with carne asada and it was amazing! Loved every bite. The portion for this plate was huge and probably shareable, but totally recommend if you're looking for amazing Latin food!

First time diner, I had the bandeja paisa the steak was very well marinated and tender, the whole meal was very tasty, I also had the coconut mojito and it was delicious as well. Plantains were very (maduros) and that made them extra sweet and I love it. Chicharrón was a bit dry but flavorful. Service was also excellent (Majo) was very attentive and friendly she was the one who recommended the bandeja and coconut mojito and she wasn't wrong, will definitely come back again.

    Beautiful decor.

I have a dairy allergy Are any of your offerings dairy free? Thank you?

Peruvian cuisine uses little to no dairy in their culture and food. There will certainly be dairy-free options here.

They have a bunch of flavors available: we settled on the buffalo and dry lemon pepper wings. We supplemented that with a vodka soda (we're walking). The ambiance was electric with music playing in the background and folks arriving and descending upstairs, where the real action is. The wings arrived and they were cooked perfectly: hot, crispy, fresh, with the right amount of seasonings. So glad we decided to drop in. Note: This is an LGBTQ friendly environment. After enjoying the wings, we decided to take a peek upstairs as the constant traffic going up there intrigued us. As we made our way in this space, there was a large dance floor with bar table and chairs around the perimeter and a bar at the front. There was also an outdoor area where you could overlook the street and enjoy your drink or food. The music was full blast and enjoyable to listen to. All in all, go for the wings you won't be disappointed, but stay for the vibes if that's your thing. I will be back for those wings AND that vibe!

As a HUGE Bears fan, this was truly a treat for me and I appreciated everything from the decor to the menu. Chicago dogs? Italian beef? MY HEART! This is the perfect dive bar to catch a game and I absolutely love the environment. As a Chicago(land) native, Ivy and Coney hits home in all the right ways. Tucked away in the Shaw neighborhood, this unassuming spot is a Midwest haven in the heart of DC. Let's start with the food: the Detroit-style pizza is phenomenal. Crispy edges, generous portions (you get 8 slices!), and packed with flavor. Perfect to share! Other notable mentions included the cheese curds, smash burger, or legit Chicago-style dogs. The space itself is exactly what a dive bar should be: cozy, casual, a little rowdy when it needs to be, and full of character. The back bar with the retractable roof is a hidden gem for game days. First, the hostess acted like we were an intrusion into her evening, didn't welcome us or make eye contact. She sat us at a booth, which didn't work, so she did seat us at a table. I asked for a vegetarian menu, knowing there was one, but she walked off, did not return. Our waiter was a young man, spoke very softly; we both had a difficult time hearing him. My wife ordered her drink; I asked for a few more minutes. That drink did not appear until half my meal was over, which I did not appreciate. And I had to ask 3 times to get the drink, including asking another waiter. We ordered salad and main dish; my vegetarian menu finally appeared. It just seemed both the hostess and our waiter did not care to attend to us. I do not know if we will be returning; and to top this all off, both the hostess and waiter called us 'Guys'.
