I came here for the special promotion event with pikmin - a Nintendo game. I like lungful tea for the promotions they do with big companies (they previously had minions and Pokémon events) because it always means there are special drinks, even thought they're not always great. The workers were fast and I got my drink quickly, but it wasn't my favorite boba. I got the pikmin slush because I wanted the special straw cover that comes with pikmin drinks for a limited time. The slush melted really quickly, was way too sweet (sweetness level wasn't adjustable for this one), and the popping boba had a really thick outer membrane. I'll try a more typical milk tea with less sweetness next time. read more

Just received the WORST customer service ever. From the guy giving me an attitude when I told him the machine wasnt working for me to order, which meant he had to take my order, to him telling me my order isnt even ready when I asked if that was my order since he wasnt yelling out any number and he never gave me my reciept. The last straw was him just throwing my sauce in the bag and pushing me the order. I understand that it started to get busy after I arrived , but he definitely wasnt even doing anything when I first arrived to give off any of that attitude as if he was. This is the first time I have been to this location (I think I pretty much tried all of their other locations). I usually don't feel compelled to review chain stores, but this location was cranking out drinks and food like a well oiled machine today. It is a smaller store compared to other locations, but due to Covid no one can wait inside. You either order online, or quickly go inside and order and wait outside. The young woman manning the order definitely was not friendly, but not rude. With the number of people waiting she was business like and very efficient. We ordered peach oolong, taro milk tea, and pop corn chicken. It took a little over 10 minutes for everything to come out. I've been to this pleasant establishment several times, and the service has always been spot on. They are efficient and get the orders out quick. I've only ever ordered tea with the "bubbles" and no sugar. I've witnessed others ask for 30% sugar or more! And, they also serve food here...I'm told that the popcorn chicken is to die for, but I've never had it. The place is attached to a Drexel University dorm and classrooms, so it makes killer business. There's hardly any parking, so be prepared to possibly double park. It can get crowded and become very noisy. This location is a bit pricer than the Chinatown one and definitely sweeter. Would totally recommend getting 50% sugar or less. Although the cost is higher, they have many more food choices ex: popcorn chicken, crepes, and many other little snacks. I also like their bubbles better. Not aware of this place until a bunch of us in my club decided to grab "bobbas." One of us suggested "KFT". At first, the drink selection seems to be overwhelming---there were A LOT, but being a boba-enthusiast myself, I saw many familiar ingredients such as Taro, Chai, Thai, Milk Tea, Red bean, Coffee, etc. With that said, KFT has NEW SELECTIONS section as part of their menu. I RECOMMEND ***Sesame Oolong Tea*** with bubbles. Keep it simple. I was not expecting that crunch from sesame, and that sweet, fried taste (idk how to exactly describe) that YOU HAVE TO TRY in order to understand what I'm trying to say. IT WAS PERFECTION. Thrilled to finally have a Kung Fu Tea in University City! The menu here is even more extensive than the one in Chinatown, offering crepes in addition to bubble tea, rice balls, and chicken. On "healthy" days my go-to is Kung Fu black tea with zero % sugar and boba (it still tastes good with no sugar!), while my "unhealthy" favorite is the rosehip lemonade with half sugar and double boba. The caramel macchiato bubble tea is also great! There's lots of seating, so it's good for groups (and there's a rooftop garden nearby with plenty of seating if KFT is full). They have a $10 credit card minimum, so unless you're ordering 3+ drinks at once, bring cash. It's good enough that ordering 3+ drinks is worth it though! read more

Kung Fu Tea is my favorite bubble tea franchise! I live in West Philly and I usually go to the one Chinatown, and it is worth the commute! I was ecstatic to learn that there was one on Drexel's campus. It is amazing! All of the same flavors and options. There is an extra plus to this King Fu Tea- they sell crepes! A lot like the ones from T-Swirl, but a little cheaper! The staff was very friendly, the space was clean and the bubble tea was delicious! I got the Cheesecake delight and mango tango crepes and the caramel macchiato and rose hip lemonade. Rose hip lemonade may be my favorite flavor. Sweet and tangy with delicious boba in every taste. My first KFT ever, so I cannot compared to the other chains. I got a 70 sugar oolong milk tea with bubbles and sampled a 30 sugar regular milk tea, 100 sugar regular, taro slush with Oreo, and mango green tea. The oolong has a pleasant hint of toasted rice which is light and refreshing on a warm day. The bubbles are evenly cooked throughout with a slight sweet tinge. When trying the other milk teas of varying sweetness it feels like their milk teas are less sweet than other shops- the 100 sugar tastes like 70, my 70 sugar tastes like a 50, and the 30 sugar tastes like 10 sugar. However, the 100 sugar taro slush tasted like a 130 sugar so maybe the scales they use are different. Take that into consideration when ordering. The taro slush would have been amazing if it wasn't so sweet. However, the real winner was the mango green tea with herbal jellies. The mango gives a fresh, tropical kick to the mellow green tea that is tied up nicely with the contrasting texture and pungency of the herbal jellies. I think it comes at a fixed sugar level. The normal milk teas were okay, nothing special. Seating gets packed- there are only about 5 of the little 4 person booths, so it might be hard to find a seat especially during peak hours. Overall, take note of what percent sugar you are ordering as it seems to vary between items. Maybe since they just opened they're still working on that and will standardize soon. read more

It was super crowded, but that's somewhat understandable considering that this location is brand new and close to many colleges. After waiting in line for quite a bit, I decided to order a 'Chai Lactaid Milk Tea.' It took about 10 minutes or so to be prepared, and the overall taste was OK. It definitely didn't have all of the usual spice flavors that chai has, and it tasted more like average black tea. It is a little small and cramped but the space is cozy enough for groups of four or less to play games stored in the shop! Bubble tea aka Boba has certainly made it's way to popularity over the years. Some people despise it, some rave about it. As a teen, a new bubble tea joint opened up in Chinatown called Tea-do, and it became all the rave. It was the new hangout spot, especially if you were skipping school LOL! Just wish the place was bigger. Anyway, if you've been to Tea-do...you can imagine what Kung Fu Tea is like. It's basically the exact same thing. They have some different signature drinks, but they still serve all the classics. Their milk tea is to die for!! Like I literally spent almost $40 the last time I went there (yay for self control lolol) The interior of this is way better than Tea-Do's and they have more space...which I like. It's in a less congested area of Philly than Chinatown, AND walking distance from me so that's awesome. If my boyfriend still lived in the apartments this place is connected to, I would be down at Kung Fu Tea everyday -yikes- Be careful not to turn into a maniac like me..cause things can definitely add up here.
