I stopped by here for a treat and they had quite the variety of drinks! I ordered the Pokemon drinks: Z-A Royale and a coco cream wow. The Pokemon drink was fruity with the boba pearls (not my typical drink). It did taste good but I'll try another one when I get the chance. I also ordered my usual: a coco cream wow with extra milk cap. Now the coco cream wow didn't really have a lot of chocolate and it tasted like it was 80% milk. I was kind of expecting a chocolate milk but perhaps the recipe only required coco powder. So if you're not too keen on a chocolate y drink, this one may be for you. I'll add extra chocolate syrup in the future. The service was fantastic! The young lady was very patient with me and my selectivity as I wanted to try them all but bought something new and something familiar. I went to this Kung Fu Tea and I ordered a strawberry matcha cream with a milk cap and boba, but because the girl said it already came with it, she didnt add it. Upon realizing it did not come with what I was asking for, she opened my drink to add it, but did not put another seal on my drink, I only came to realize this later as she didn't even pre-warn me about it. When I got to the car with my drink, my partner shook my drink to mix it and it spilled on him. This was literally so frustrating and it wasnt worth going in and complaining because the two girls up front the whole time didnt even greet us, barely gave any input on drink suggestions, and were laughing with each other the entire time. The shop had boxes and decor everywhere with two staff working on a busy afternoon. Overall, this was a nice boba shop to visit in the area. Came in on a weekend early afternoon, around noon or so after lunch. It was popping here! The music was loud and there were a lot of people using the tables. I would say you could work/ study here perhaps on a weekday when it's not super loud. I ordered the black sesame milk tea. The black sesame flavor said hello to my taste buds right away! It was a decent drink. The boba was decent, but could've been chewier, but in a way soft-- if that makes sense. The one thing this drink lacked, is the actual tea flavor. If you're really craving boba and you'd rather not make it at home, you can visit this place. The girls there were working on a couple of orders at the time and asked if I minded using the self order kiosk. Not at all. They are very efficient and drinks were out quickly. I had the rose hip milk tea with a cream cap. So smooth, lightly sweet and that sweet/salty cream cap at the end was just perfect! My kiddo had a taro slush which was amazing! We'll definitely come back and try other things on the menu. Kung Fu Tea offers a plethora of options, so the only problem you'll have is choosing one. This chain is America's largest bubble tea brand. I've tried a few flavors but I always go back to the KF Tea because it's so good! You can order online so it's ready when you get there or order in store. Very disappointing experience. I was in the area and performed a Google search to see if there were any bubble/Boba tea places near me. I love good bubble tea. As soon as I entered, I could tell I was not going to have the best customer service experience. There was one person who entered in front of me, and she stood for a while in front of the register, without being acknowledged by the young lady behind the counter. The young woman, looked very bored, which is fine, and then asked me for my order, which I proceeded to place. Now typically, at these places they will ask you what level of sugar do you want, would you like popping Boba, etc. This young lady did not ask any of that. She didn't even consult about what size drink I wanted. I knew exactly what I wanted so no big deal, but she acted put out as she took my order. She maybe spoke seven words entire exchange. I paid and turned to sit down and wait, but before I could do so she said, "Here you go" and handed me a drink. I said "oh, that was fast" thanked her and smiled then went to my car. Tasted the drink and it was the most disgusting bubble tea I've had in a long time (strawberry lemon green tea - under punches). The color was off and unappealing. I don't think the syrup was mixed in, it had a strong artificial flavor and how are popping bubbles slightly mushy? I couldn't drink it. I even tried holding my breath and downing it and couldn't do it. Glad I only spent $7. Won't be back. read more

Kung Fu Tea is a popular boba franchise, however, when I am back home I usually don't get their drinks because there are other places with better quality tea and toppings. With limited shops in San Antonio, I would definitely say this is one of my favorite boba places in town. Kung Fu is known for their massive drink menus. They have slushies, milk teas, fruit teas, yogurt, espresso, and much more. It can be quite overwhelming for newcomers. If you don't know what to order, I recommend looking at their best seller drinks. My to go order is winter melon milk tea with grass jelly, sadly at this location they do no offer grass jelly. I recommend ordering their drinks at 50-75% sweetness, because Kung Fu is typically too sweet for my liking. For their boba, I only ordered it once. I see mixed reviews of not being cooked consistently, but I would rate the boba 4/5. The texture is chewy in the middle and soft on the outside. Tip: the wait time is usually less than ten minutes, but if you order through their app you can avoid the wait time. read more

I'll focus more on the product, compared to other branches their milk tea here is not only sugar and milk you can taste the real deal of tea. While for the add ons, I do advised that offer half cup of milk instead of full cup for a medium size drink. This way you could balance the taste and not overpower by milk. I've been here a few times (I think 4 times total) and each time was disappointing. They have unique flavors and drinks that include yogurt, but none of the drinks I've tried were good. Either too sweet, not mixed well, or the flavors are bitter. The staff will answer your questions about the drinks but they seem extremely irritated to be working there. Not a fan of this location and most definitely won't be back. The lack of customer service and the drinks themselves are enough to remember not to come back. read more

My reason for only three stars is for the boba not always being cooked consistently. Sometimes the boba is too soft for my liking, like it's been overcooked. The service is good. We were driving from the Botanical Gardens on a hot summer day and I started to crave a boba tea! Luckily this place happened to be nearby. It has LOTS of choices! Actually too many for my liking...we were so confused and ordered something we weren't even sure of what it was. We confused the kids who worked the counter as well...with our boba ignorance. I love mango everything and ended up getting a mango creamsicle I think, which was way too sweet for me. My husband somehow ended up with matcha red bean concussion...totally not his usual m.o. This place was clean and the staff was friendly. But I have an issue with their milk tea. Mine either had too much milk powder or was not mixed thoroughly because the entire inside of the cup was coated in the powder leftover that didn't dissolve into the tea. My husband got the strawberry lemonade tea and that was at least delicious. I also do like that while their milk is powdered, at least their tea is actually brewed and now also a powder mix. You can also tell that the tea is a good quality so kudos there. I heard good things about Kingfu tea from my relatives so I had to try this place out. At first, looking at their many selections of tea, I decided to get the classic lychee black tea, 50% sweet, normal ice with aloe vara. The tea wasn't great, probably because it was more sweet then what I'm used to when asking for 50% sweetness. It tasted more of a 75% sweetness or maybe sweeter side. It could had been the lychee syrup but I expected much less. The lychee bits was a good addition to the aloe vera jelly but I just couldn't finish my drink because it was just too sweet. Next time if I ever come back, I will ask for 25% sweetness or even lower if they offer it. Overall, the tea wasn't the best. Although the ambiance was trendy, had good lighting and clean. KFT is usually pretty consistent and I'm proud to say that they made my Wintermelon Milk Tea perfectly! The boba was up to par. The service was excellent, however the flavoring of the milk tea wasn't up to par to what I am used to. We ordered a black tea with a white cap (thinking it would taste like a the Tiger Brown Sugar Milk Tea - but didn't) and a Honey Milk Tea - this was like a 7/10 for me. The best Boba tea I ever had in my life and that's saying a lot because I came from an area where they had Boba shops on every corner. The Boba pearls were so sweet and we had to come back the next day. The first night we had a blueberry Creamsicle 100%. It was savory sweet with a hint of lemon. Delicious and unlike anything I'd ever had before. My husband had a store drink at less that 70%. It was great! So naturally I had to try it the next day.
