Of the tea places in San Antonio I've been to, this is probably the best I've had so far. However, compared to the options else where, the tea is just okay. Had a bad experience on 21DEC22 at approximately 1 pm. My daughter and I went into the store and walk up to the "pick up" counter and waited for a customer to place his order and get his drink. As my daughter and I were waiting, we became annoyed that the sole worker couldn't even be bothered to greet us, but we understand these things happen. However, once another customer entered the store and was both greeted, received her mobile order, and departed, before a word was ever said to me, I became extremely annoyed. Eventually, the employee spoke to me and I asked her why another customer, who entered after me, had already received her order and left before I was even greeted. The employee told me the other customer had placed a mobile order hence the quicker service, to which I informed her that I had also placed a mobile order which she would've know had she actually spoken to me. She subsequently gave me my daughter's drink and we left. I don't know why I was ignored or treated like a second class citizen but I was the only African American in the store. Again, I'm not saying that's why but that is additional context that perhaps played a role. Either way, my family and I will probably go somewhere else for our weekly boba tea outings. There are plenty of competitors in San Antonio. Before management responds, I don't want a coupon or some financial compensation. I want an apology and better training for your employees. I don't know why I was treated poorly but regardless of the reason, it still happened and should not have. And the ambiance was pretty gross. This has got to be my favorite place to get boba in all of San Antonio. Not only is the boba amazing, but it's such a quirky little place. I love to sit there, drink their taro milk tea and study. Last time we were here, we got a great service. Today, i dont think the staff know what they are doing. First i ask if they can substitute milk tea for the milk base cocoa creme drink, they said its not possible. Honestly, its not that hard. Then i ended up ordering the orea wow milk cup and as you can see it looks like someone already had a drink from my cup and it dont look anything close from the picture. I have been to other KUNG FU TEA, and this one might be the worst. Lastly, we ordered regular hot coffee, they gave us iced coffee, its okay people make mistakes but what they did, they strained the coffee from the ice and served that coffee to us, top up with some hot coffee. Mind you, the girl did not even use a strainer, just used her bare hands and the plastic covering from idk where. I wanted to just walked away and have them reimburse us for our drink, but i just didnt want to cause any drama. The STAFF TODAY IS THE WORST. Closing at 10 on a Saturday? Then to top it off, their cup sealing wasn't working. Ended up causing a mess later that day. I have nothing against the Kung Fu tea franchise...just this location. It was a little tough finding the parking lot/shop in this tiny strip mall and I missed it the first time, but everything else was fantastic. Quick and friendly service, high quality drinks. Got the matcha milk tea and the thai milk tea, both with boba. The drinks were not too sweet; I usually ask for less sweetener but that wasn't possible with the matcha flavor. Coming from Houston, I'm quite acquainted with Milk Tea and the selection thereof. With all the other offerings in San Antonio, I felt there was something lacking: drinks were powdery, service left much to be desired, and prices/value did not make sense. But finally, Kung Fu Tea has saved San Antonio and has become my one-stop-shop to satisfy my milk tea cravings. The Original Milk Tea is creamy without being overly sweet but my personal favorite is the Wintermelon Milk Tea (Black or Green tea based depending on my mood) followed by the Oolong Milk Tea. We had an event that we ordered the Kungfu bubble tea as drinks. The event started earlier , so I had to ask them a favor to deliver the tea an hour earlier at the last minute. They responded quickly and got here very quickly. What's even better, the manager tried his best to maintain the softness of the bubble by doing an additional step (they did not have to do it since I did not request). Although I'm generally a fan of Kung Fu Tea, this is my least favorite location in San Antonio. During my first visit, I waited about 20 minutes to get my order as I watched one employee bouncing back and forth between working the register and mixing beverages; another employee inexplicably just stood at the back of the kitchen and watched...not sure what they were paying him for. When I finally received my drink, I found that the boba in my drink were hard and tough, which either means they were old and refrigerated for too long, or undercooked.
