WATERED DOWN! I ordered Thai milk tea from this location and literally heard the barista yell "we need more Thai tea" because it looked like the Thai tea dispenser was almost out. I then saw him fill the remaining of the cup with WATER. I assumed they knew what they were doing and it would be fine. I was wrong. My drink tasted like a mixture of water and milk with a small hint of Thai tea. Not good at all. Bland and gross. I ended up tossing my drink. Waste of time and money coming to this location. I've been to the Tyson's and Centreville location many times and I've never had any issues. Don't go here!! read more

I love this place. I've been here so many times, and every time I order, they always get my order right, it tastes so good, and it's fast. I highly recommend downloading the app so you can get points towards a free drink. Their rewards plan isn't the best, but once you sign up, they are always giving you good deals on special drinks. My go to drinks are the Almond Milk tea and the Thai Milk tea with extra boba or herbal jelly and boba. 50% sugar. Less ice. This is the only boba place that really does the Almond flavor in the traditional Chinese way rather than just using grocery store almond milk in the milk tea. It has an intense almond flavor that is absolutely refreshing and wonderful at any time of the year. I've tried a lot of boba places in the area, and Kung Fu Tea may be my favorite. Well, this is your average kung fu tea location. Not the best and certainly not the worst KFT I've been to. Service was a little slow for not having a crowd but I don't mind waiting an extra few minutes. I got the black tea cap and it was very refreshing. Unfortunately my bobas were way too soft so that really took away from my experience. I don't always get bobas in my drink so when I do, I really hope they're at least decent. Although I have been to this location before, I must say that this particular visit was underwhelming at the least. As always, the drinks themselves were very good and just on the sweet side (I ordered the Taro Milk Tea with 50% sugar, milk cap, and boba; I will make a mental note to order 25% sugar on the next occasion), however, this review pertains more to the customer service than the quality of the beverages available. The establishment itself was very busy at the time I visited; there were maybe ten people in front of me. When we went to order, the cashier seemed more robotic than friendly, and they were obviously training new employees at the time as it was very hectic behind the counter. My drink was ready maybe five minutes after I ordered, but part of this was because the girl in front of me did not receive the drink that she ordered; they moved the drink aside and made her a new one, and I was curious as to whether or not the drink would be thrown away or perhaps I could surprise my brother with it. The subsequent dialogue with the cashier went roughly as follows: "Hey, I noticed that that drink was prepared wrong--was anyone planning on drinking it or is it going to be thrown away?" "Oh, it'll be tossed." "Oh--in that case, would it be possible for me to have it? I'd really like to surprise my brother as he loves Kung Fu Tea." "Well, sure, but we'll have to charge you for it." Which, okay. Maybe they'd charge me half price, which I was okay with (bear in mind that this was a drink that the employees had made wrong--as in--no one had ordered it and it was incorrect), but the cashier charged me FULL PRICE for this wrong drink that I simply didn't want to be thrown away. Moreover, he charged me for what the drink was--a Large "Coco Cream Wow" with a milk cap and bubbles--not what the girl before me had ordered (which was printed on the cup), which was just a large without any of the toppings. I ended up paying nearly seven dollars, for a drink that was prepared wrong, that was going to be thrown away. Maybe I am just upset that my brother didn't even like the drink, and I effectively wasted seven dollars on a drink that no one wanted. In all, their drinks are good--maybe not exceptional--but I personally find it pretty uncool that I was charged the full price, including the added ingredients that weren't supposed to even be in the drink. I will come again, but hopefully the level of awareness within the establishment improves in the interim. read more

I love the concept so much I visited there with my family a couple of times and tried a couple of drinks that were so good. This is the best Kung Fu tea franchise I've ever been to. The boba tea was good but the service was absolutely exceptional. It is run by a family, with two young teen daughters helping their mom and dad make the drinks. I wanted something milkshake like and the young daughter recommended the strawberry milk smoothie. I added tapioca pearls to my drink. It was very good. The dad actually said I should have tried the taro boba tea but taro is a potato like sweet starch so I declined. While my friend and I were enjoying our drinks, the dad actually made some taro boba tea for himself and went out of his way to give us a sample because he was sure we would love it lol. He even brought a side of sweet mung beans to add to the taro boba tea.... to my surprise the taro smoothie was delicious and adding the mung beans made it taste even better. When he saw that we were enjoying the taro boba he smiled and said, "See, I knew you'd like it!" He was right, I loved it. I very much recommend this Kung Fu tea location!! Frankly, one of the best Kung Fu Teas in the area if you're in NOVA. I've been to the ones at Dulles and Reston, they're decent but not as nice as the one here. The decorations and games make the store environment lively and familial. To say the least, it's not as placid as other tea shops. My go to, personally, is the Rosehip Lemonade. I've been told that it's a blend of berries and a touch of lemon to provide an indulgent drink for those who have a hefty sweet tooth. Among the other times, I've been getting the milk teas, and they are personally too sweet for me, but they're delicious! The baristas are consistent in making the drinks and quite fast at it as well. They have recently been making sushi as well! I was ecstatic to try it. I happened to be on my weekly run today, and the owner was offering free samples. The chief, who I was told, was a professional sushi chief at one point! Let me say, those claims are certainly true. The rich freshness of the sushi really makes the taste of ingredients apparent. While there is no raw fish, I definitely enjoy the beginner-friendly introduction to sushi with the California Rolls! I'm excited to see what the future holds for them!! read more

Kung Fu Tea is hands down, my favorite place to get bubble tea in Northern Virginia. They have several locations, and all of them are great. By far this is the worst Kung Fu Tea place. The tea drinks at this location are inconsistent and employees are rude. Last week, I ordered three honey milk green teas and one with 75% sweet level. The drinks turned out so sweet as if they have doubled the amount of honey. I was already on the road when I poked the straw through the seal so I didn't bother going back. Today, I decided to give the place a second try, as my son loves KFT's honey MGT. I ordered the same drinks as last week and the drinks were nasty. Lesson learned from last week, so we tasted the drinks before departing the store. When I asked them to remake drinks, as it's not what I ordered, they copped an attitude . They ended up making it again but got the order wrong again and made me wait a long time. Lesson learned is not to go back there again. If I want quality bubble milk tea, go to another location. The KFT in Falls Church may be a farther drive, but it is consistent and makes quality bubble tea. read more

About the same as the other Kung Fu Teas I have been to. It's a great location, and it filled a need for Kung Fu Tea out in this area. One thing of note is that the employees here seem more energetic and welcoming. They said "Welcome to Kung Fu Tea!" like they used to work at Moe's or something. This place was amazing!!! As Soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by smiling faces saying welcome. I have never felt so welcomed at a place before this encounter. They loved to talk and chat with my group of 4 adults, 1 kid, and 1 baby. We only stopped cuz we were in the area otherwise I would go everyday just to sit and chat.
