The shrimp appetizers are so good. I haven't tried anything there that wasn't delicious!

the Rangoon was very good. We stopped in after an appointment near by. the place is clean but it lacks a lot. the salad is just a lettuce mix and the ranch is from a large plastic jug. The sushi itself was nothing spectacular. we did the 2 roll lunch special. really wasn't all that impressed. it is just an ok place. maybe the specialty rolls are better? not sure. read more

This may be the best sushi I have ever eaten anywhere. I'm no connoisseur, but I love the food at Kuramoto in Pleasant View. This has become my favorite restaurant! The seafood is always fresh and while I have my preferences, everything I've ever tried has been good. My kids love the fried rice and yum-yum sauce. The stone bowl meals are very good. The Steak Udon soup is delicious. The salmon teriyaki is great. Tempura soft-shelled crab is good, Chicken bon bon, Gyoza and Butter Scallops and tempura squid are favorite appetizers for my family. My favorites are the seafood fried rice, avocado salad and my favorite is their Tiger Roll. I eat here as often as I reasonably (or unreasonably) can. The staff is always friendly. Oh and the ice cream (green tea, black bean, and black sesame) are a wonderful sweet ending to a meal. Dishes still tend to come out not all at the same time, but everything else makes up for that. read more

We were in Springfield and saw this from the road. When I looked it up here, I saw great reviews so we decided to give it try. We had the crab Rangoon for an appetizer and it was phenomenal! You can tell they are homemade. My husband ordered the beef stone bowl and loved it so much he repeatedly burnt his mouth because he didn't want to wait for it to cool. I had the yaki soba with shrimp and loved it! I had to ask our server to bring me a box so that I'd stop eating. I loved that the kid's meals were so inexpensive! They were the perfect size for my daughter. The only thing I didn't love was the ginger salad; the dressing was watery. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We will gladly be driving from Clarksville to eat here again...maybe tomorrow. read more

This is usually a hit or miss. On some days, it's amazing but on others, I wish I would've just made something at home. If you're looking for sushi, the menu is limited and a bit pricy for what you get. Their entrees are pretty good and you get enough to take some home. I would recommend trying the Stone Bowls. Never again. Simply put - the food here is substandard. We ordered spring rolls. I don't know what freezer burned freezer they chipped these out of before dumping them into a fryer. Not only were they awful but they were served with take-out small packets of duck? sauce. We both ordered tempura. This came with straight out of the grocery store pre-cut lettuce scraps. The miso soup was also from a dried reconstituted mix. The tempura was ok but served with a bowl of soy sauce which was already on the table. Pleasant View is a cute little town out in the sticks. The main business center is a well planned development called The Village. It is in this community that the Japanese eatery resides. Kuramoto is more cafe than restaurant. It is a pleasant place to sit, has a big TV and free wifi and, although that sounds a little basic, it seems to fit. The decor is 80s Jappo take-out, and without the giant fan and the posters it would not appear remotely oriental. But, this makes little difference to the experience. The service is fast and efficient, the Hong Kong girl is especially good. She is talkative, knowledgeable and a happy person who genuinely seems to want her customers to have a good experience. Before we get to the food...a word on the drinks. They don't sell non alcoholic beer, but they do otherwise have a good selection of regular beers. It is the only Japanese restaurant in the history of the world that doesn't sell Sake. But, this is more to do with the foibles of Tennessee's draconian booze laws than through any fault of the proprietor/chef. Sake should be available within a few months. The green tea was good and appeared to be ganmai cha...a personal favorite. We ordered beef teppanyaki and chicken teriyaki. Both came with a ginger salad, which was nice and fresh, and miso soup, which was a little less strong than I would normally expect. The beef was very good...the noodles were tasty and nicely cooked. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the rice accompaniment was great. All this, including two beers, came in at just $36... AND they served us complimentary green tea icecream. One thing which had me totally flamboozled, is what is really the name of the restaurant. It seems to be Kuramoto...but inscrutibly enough the menu is entitled Kuratomo. The plot is infused with cornflour (it thickens...right?). However, as Billy Spokeshave once said, "That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Either way Kuramoto/Kuratomo is a very nice little place to stop for a quick bit of very nice food and good service at a very reasonable price. We will return. read more

I order at least twice a week because it's so good and freshly made. My favorite appetizers are the salmon sashimi, edamame, tofu, crab Rangoon. Actually I'm looking at the menu and all of them are good. Sometimes I order several appetizers and we split them up so we can sample all. Fried rice is a must and it's large enough to share. read more

Great place been going for so many years now I lost track. Always get fried soft shell crab with some of their many different rolls. The sashimi is all good everything has great flavor as well as appearance. They also have nice people working never had a bad experience. read more

We love the food at Kuramoto! Truly an excellent stop for any sushi/Japanese lovers out there. The fried rice is superb and the stone bowls meals are excellent. We been coming here since we've moved to the area two years ago. Kuramoto is consistently good. The sushi is not high end using imitation crab etc, but they put together some decent rolls that are affordable. When they have the mango roll that's a good choice. The tempura is one of the best items on the menu so is the udon noodle soup with tempura. Another good item is the chicken curry. The portion is big and the Japanese curry has a really nice flavor. It's not hot spicy it almost has a slight sweet taste to it. Our kids usually get a fried.rice bowl and there is a decent amount of veggies and meat it the fries rice. The restaurant is family run and overall the food reminds me of home cooked Japanese food. This is a great place to have in Pleasant View. read more

I ordered to-go meals on Feb.5th 2017 and my toddler spit out the white rice. I continued to eat it and my tempora crab meal about an hour later I vomitted the whole meal. Nothing else just the meal. I will never go back again and I will warn others of it. read more

I was optimistic when they opened. After many visits of hit and miss, it's been a long time since a hit. The food is much smaller portions compared to when they opened and their prices have skyrocketed to ridiculous. The quality has only been so so at best but my last visit today I couldn't continue eating their chicken fried rice. The chicken had obviously been microwaved and the rice was over cooked. It would have taken way to much yum yum sauce to finish it. The miso soup has been a let down, it tastes stale like a bland instant. More employees are eating at the tables than customers. They have changed their hours and are now closed on Mondays as well as for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. It's worth the 45 minute drive to Sapporo's in River gate! read more

My niece and I stopped in after a long day on the river.. I read all of the reviews and expected the place to be very good.. Have to say we were both disappointed. Even though there were only 2 other tables, it took over 5 minutes for them to come to our table. We ordered the Dragon roll, chicken stone bowl and crab rangoons. The dragon roll was just "ok" and pretty small. The stone bowl was terrible because you could not even chew the chicken. It was literally like rubber. We sent it back and ordered a bowl of fried rice so my niece could have something before heading on home. They refused to take the stone bowl off of our bill even though she did not eat it. And still charged $3.99 for the bowl of rice we had to order to replace it. Not really what I consider good customer service. I also ordered spring rolls because i was still hungry from the small shushi roll. So, its not like we were just trying to get something for free, I mean, we ordered several items. I rarely complain in a restaurant but had to say something, as this was the worst chciken I have ever tried to eat. Seems like it could be a good place but our experince was lackng, a lot.. We very much enjoy Kuramoto and often have lunch there on Sundays. We particularly like the Stone Bowls (think Asian "fajitas"- served still cooking in a sizzling hot cast iron bowl). This was a disappointment. The springroll appetizer was flavorless and appeared to have been from frozen commercial stock. The sauce came in little packets. We told the waitress they were inedible and sent them back. Fortunately they were inexpensive as they didn't take them off the bill. The tempura was good (7.5 out of 10) and reasonably priced, but the accompanying salad was chopped lettuce right out of a bag. I was hoping for a nice Asian dressing, but only two choices: ranch (from a bottle I think) and ginger. All told, the place is OK but I won't be back. read more

We were very disappointed with the wait and the time it took for our food. There were 4 of us in our party. One person received their food and was completely done eating by the time the second person got their food.
