    Lamb Kebab (2 Skewers) 烤羊肉串

It's a 3.5 stars for me, some dishes are a hit some dishes are a miss. We went on a weeknight and got seated immediately. We ordered: - Lamb kebab: 3/5 the meat was rough but the seasoning was good - Samsa: 5/5 flavorful and delicious! - Golden toasted lamb: 4/5 the first few bites were delicious but it's generally too fatty the more I bite into it - Garlic naan: 2/5 unfortunately it felt like store bought and wasn't that good

Good food fast service. We ordered Samsa, Golden Crisp Roasted Lamp, and Silk Road Garlic roasted whole fish.

The store is a bit small, so definitely expect a wait during dinner or prime-time hours! However, the attentive service makes the experience well worth it. We ordered the Golden Crispy Roasted Lamb Rib and the Braised Lamb Shank, and I highly recommend both: * Golden Crispy Roasted Lamb Rib: This was the highlight--incredibly tender on the inside with a perfectly balanced soft-yet-crunchy outer layer. * Braised Lamb Shank: Absolutely succulent and fall-off-the-bone tender. The Sides & Sauces The dishes were served with a scrumptious rice mixed with raisins, carrots, and apricot pieces. It offered a light sweetness that complemented the aromatic, roasted flavor of the grains beautifully. Additionally, both meals came with three distinct dipping sauces: 1. Chili Oil Sauce (for a kick) 2. Dry BBQ Rub (for savory depth) 3. Yogurt Dipping Sauce (for a cool finish) All three paired perfectly with the lamb, making for a fantastic meal!

Authentic, tasty Excellent Uyghur spot! The lamb soup have the perfect flavor and the lamb kebabs are incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of cumin and spice.

Very excited to have authentic Uyghur food in San Mateo! Lamb pilaf was fragrant and delicious, and the fish was crispy. Will be back again

The lamb was fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The skewers were grilled really well, and everything came out hot and flavorful. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving lamb skewers!

Food is authentic and very high quality - a good place to enjoy lamb and traditional Xinjiang / Central Asian food!

Nice new place for Uyghur food. We ordered Samsa, lamb rib pilaf, garlic eggplants and kebab. All taste good and fresh. I especially enjoyed the pilaf with apricot raisin in it, giving a little sweet and fruity note.

Delicious meal from start to finish. The lamb was tender and full of flavor, the cucumber salad was a great complement, and the garlic naan was fresh and buttery. Highly recommend!

Grilled fish is delicious, it's not marinated but they provide different types of source. Gold crispy lamb and eggplant are also great.

Ox 9 Lanzhou Hand-Pulled Noodles -- A Must-Try for Noodle Lovers!…read moreWe're back again, and Ox 9 continues to impress! Their new clip of the hand-pulled noodle master showcasing his incredible skills makes the dining experience even more exciting. Watching the noodles being freshly stretched and crafted by hand is truly a treat. The noodles are still delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. Service remains friendly and efficient, and the ambiance continues to be welcoming and comfortable. For anyone who loves authentic hand-pulled noodles, Ox 9 delivers great quality at a great value. It's definitely a place where you get a big bang for your buck! Highly recommended!

Great place for Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles…read more 1. vegetables fried noodles (veggie chow mein), $15.48. I only tried a little of this (it was my daughter's order), and it seemed pretty good, but maybe nothing special. I'd have to try more of it to get a better idea of how it is. 2. pork ribs noodle (soup), $15.48. Good! 3. stewed lamb noodle (soup), $16.98. I didn't try this, but the others said it was good. 4. chili oil noodles, $13.98. Very good! There was some bok choy (maybe blanched), shredded carrot, and soy bean bean sprouts, and a very tasty spicy chili oil. This comes with wide, flat noodles that are nicely chewy and bouncy. The noodles are very long, so you'll have to bite them off or cut them with your chopsticks. 5. Thai tea, $4.50. Good, I only had a couple sips, but it seemed good. 6. sweet pear drink, $3.50. My daughter ordered this. Not bad, but too sweet for my taste. Wouldn't get it again. Portions are generous. We each took enough home for another small or medium-sized meal. There is an automated waitlist where you sign in at a kiosk and get a number. At the table, you can order through the QR code, but our waitress came over to take our order since we'd never been there before and had some questions. Service was fairly quick and efficient. There are lots of graphics on the walls explaining the history of the restaurant, how the noodles are made, and the history of Lanzhou noodles.

I didn't expect this restaurant to be almost full especially when it's a cafe. It can be too loud for me to study and work here despite having WiFi. I didn't really feel like eating too much because of yesterday. So I decided to get one of the pastries as well as a cappuccino. Almost most of them look too sweet and I decided to get the Ube Puff since it's between the sweet and savory side. They did put a lot of Ube cream which made me surprised. Also the cappuccino is like any cappuccino I had from most restaurants. Hopefully, it's less crowded and I probably will get one of the sandwiches or other larger items the next time I return here.

The eggs were perfectly poached, the Hollandaise was tasty (but not overwhelming), and the biscuits they come in were really tasty. I also appreciated the lightly dressed salad that came as a side: the greens were very fresh. I also got the Cuban Cortadito, and I was pumped to have a non-dairy coffee drink. It was very well made: the slight hint of condensed milk was a nice touch. It was a nice sweet drink without being cloyingly sweet. But they have so many tasty coffee drinks that it was hard to choose, so I'll def be back to try more of them!
