    Mint Ice Cream
    William L.

For $6 a scoop, this place is truly a must GO for dessert if you are in the Mountain View area. The $6 scoop, is more like a $6 cup full of ice cream. It look me around 15 minutes to finish the whole thing and I am considered a fast eater... I got the mint flavor and it tasted exactly how you would expect a mint ice cream flavor to taste and bonus points for it having so many chocolate chips in it. Every bite was fun to eat and it was delicious. Not much else to say, but great ice cream, clean environment, and friendly staff. Disclaimer: They offer you a free ice cream scoop for leaving a review, but the fact that is free does not impact my rating of the ice cream! I would be more than happy to come back next time and pay the cost.

Decided to come here for a sweet treat after dinner. I ordered the Thai tea rolled ice cream with Oreo crushed in and condensed milk and mochi toppings. Once I ordered, the worker got to work rolling it right away so my ice cream came out really fast. You can taste the Thai tea flavor in the ice cream but I wish it was a bit stronger as the Oreo really muddled the flavor. The mochi is a nice added texture too. My friend ordered a scoop of ice cream and omg you def need to share it because the scoop was huge and they did not finish it. I would say it is really worth your money for the rolled ice cream but I would definitely be back for the scooped ice cream.

Kweens is a solid dessert stop in the downtown Mountain View. The location is pretty convenient for a date or hang out because you swing by after lunch or dinner nearby. The space is a pretty good size with several tables, so it works well whether you're coming as a couple or with a small group. I tried the ube ice cream and really enjoyed it. It's creamy and not too sweet. They also have a bunch of different options on the menu, which is always nice if you're with people who want to try different things. Rolled ice cream can sometimes take a while, but my order came out faster than expected. Service was good and friendly overall.

In the heart of DT MV, a cute ice cream shop lies with the cutest and most knowledgeable Kween's staff, Ashley and I'm sorry but forgot the girl's name. The shop has plenty of seating, cute IG photo worthy signs, and definitely many dessert combos to choose from! They have ice cream Sammie's, scoops, rolls, shakes, and more! Totally loved how they customize their desserts too! Our faves were the Thai tea, ube, and Oreos rolls! Such a great treat this Christmas

I came in at 4:10, and the workers were friendly! The restaurant was clean and fresh! (Perfect for summer btw). I ordered an Ice cream roll and it is pretty good! I ordered: Nutella (as the base) 2 mix-ins: Marshmallow and brownie bites 2 toppings: Popping buba and whipped cream

I've had my eye on this place since it changed names and I finally got to go recently! They have tons of options for mix-ins and toppings so you can really go crazy. I got the cookie butter base which was excellent. I always enjoy rolled ice cream and this was really good! I'd definitely come back.

Yummy rolled ice!! Got the Thai iced tea with mochi topping. Originally they forgot to add it in but when I went up to ask for it they quickly added it in for me. Yapped with friends for an hour or so so great yapping place HAHA they had this one light that would not stop swinging and it was mesmerizing at times...

Was craving ice cream, after eating sushi next door. It was raining when I went so it wasn't so busy. They had a nice selection of ice cream to choose from, and toppings. I settled for some ube, with coconut flakes, and mochi bites. It's a good spot if your're in the downtown Mt. view area and craving some ice cream

The lines are long but seem to move fast. They have both normal ice cream and the fancy rolled ice cream made in front of you once ordered. Plenty of tables for seating!

Kween's Ice Cream had excellent service, a warm and welcoming ambience, and some of the sweetest, most delicious ice cream I've ever had!

I really wanted to like Kween's more. I like the idea of rolled ice cream. Watching the folks make it was fun. It's Benihana...for ice cream. However, the ice cream I got Oreo was not very flavorful. It was creamy in texture, but not much in the way of flavor. It was a bit of a surprise. Service was good that the team member that served me was helpful in making a suggestion. Everyone there was nice. I guess I will have to give them another try. Here's a pic.

    Nutella makes everything better

I came here two days in a row with one simple mission: get a shake. That's it. But both times I was met with the same crushing news--the blender is broken. Cue heartbreak. Now, I'll admit--I'm not a regular at independent ice cream shops, so walking into a spot with a split menu (rolled vs regular ice cream, with different flavor options for each) kind of sent me into decision paralysis. I was already disappointed about the shake, and trying to decode the menu on the fly made me a little anxious. So what did I do? I panic-ordered. Ended up with cookie dough ice cream, crushed Oreos, and what I can only describe as a pleasantly reckless amount of Nutella. (Nutella makes everything better.) Fingers crossed the blender is up and running next time. And hoping this isn't one of those "McDonald's ice cream machine is 'broken' because nobody wants to clean it" situations (kidding...mostly ).

You would think since it's winter now, I wouldn't be craving ice cream, but this didn't apply last night! I swung by Kween's last night around 6-7pm. The workers were so nice and patient while I figured out what I wanted to order. I ordered ube ice cream rolls as my base with toasted coconut flakes and Oreos as my mix-ins topped with mochi. This is the elite combo if you ask me!!! The flavors all worked perfectly together and when I come back, I'll be ordering this exact thing! Def give Kween's a try if you're in the area!

Their 100% pistachio cake is amazing - not too sweet and the pistachio flavor really comes through but doesn't overpower. Very creamy texture that isn't too heavy and has a fun, crunchy outer shell. The matcha raspberry is also nice and balanced - matcha flavor complements well with the raspberry gel / jam inside and is mellowed out by the cream. My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

They offer a variety of drinks, from lattes to milk teas to shakes. Some of my favorites include the Mocha Latte and Ube Milk Tea. The drinks lean sweet, so for those who prefer less sugar than me (i.e. most people), you should adjust accordingly. Meanwhile, the desserts are just as diverse and delicious. I enjoyed the Ube Cashew Brownie and Milo Cupcake, but would recommend the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake for your first visit. One trend across their offerings is the use of Filipino flavors like ube, Milo, and sweet corn. It makes them stand out in the crowded cafe & boba market. On the other aspects.. the store itself isn't too big but is well-decorated. There's not much seating so most will just order to-go. The service is usually quick so that's not an issue. Craftsman and Wolves is a killer crafts bakery that makes the perfect Kouign-amann. The shop does many things including a signature bread pudding, small in size but big in flava. Measures maybe two and a half inches diameter, an inch thick. Packs a wonderful wowie punch with the seasonally ripe berries and fruit, plus a few pieces of specialty chocolate. My friend who knows from excellent pastries says the goods at C and W are special because the sugars in each item are balanced, not excessive. The goodies we sampled together were scrumptious. Somehow even my pedestrian palate senses that these dessert thingies are distinctive and of ultra quality. Ambiance-wise, it's a noisy place with a few tables lining the windows. Small coffee shop sized with maybe seating for a dozen inside and a few small tables outside. I wasn't too familiar with their offerings, but I did know that it was chef driven and dedicated to quality. And in my short peek, I somewhat was able to confirm that. Drip Coffee (4*) Solid, bold and enough smoothness for me to want to savor it. Not as dark and roasty as Peets but good enough for me, especially to go with their delectable pastries. Kouign Amman (5*) I love B Patisserie's version that is flaky but saturated in buttery sugar, that I can only tolerate 1 of those at a time. Very rich and decadent. I have never seen a version quite like Craftmans and Wolves but that is what I found adoring. The exterior almost seems fried like a doughnut/cronut but totally not sure. It kinda had that bubbled exterior but not blatantly obvious. And there was just enough sugar cooked into it that it made it stealthy sweet, I'd say easily half the amount of sugar as B Pâtisserie's. Not that I would eat 2 of these in one sitting, but I easily could. Croissant Pudding (5*) They do these tiny mini bread puddings that can be heated up. We chose it as is, room temp and it was still fantastic. They use croissants as the 'bread' so it isn't as dense as a regular bread pudding. But their custard to bread ratio was masterful and this version (think they change the variations often) has burst of fresh raspberry and chunks of Dulce which is like a caramelized/browned white chocolate made by Valrhona. (I had to look that ingredient up as I never heard until now.) And to take alternate bites between the flaky and unique Kouign Amman and the creamy and slightly dense pudding with sips of quality black coffee, just initiated me an avid fan of Craftsman and Wolves. Seriously smacks!
