I was hesitant to bring my car back here after the change of ownership, but I thought I would give the new owners a chance. Boy was that a mistake. Arturo is a very shady character. He is very pleasant and nice, but I don't think he speaks much truth. I could write out all of the details of how they "fixed" my car twice only for it to run worse than before, how they over charged for parts and labor only to say a week later that my car needed an additional $1000 worth of work, and then how he tried to buy my car low balling me only to keep going up in price when he saw I wasn't going for it. I eventually was done dealing with them and had to tow my car away from there to another shop that was much more honest and had a long standing reputation of good work. They fixed my car for only $300 and said the work Arturo told me I needed was not true. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place not even for an oil change or an inspection. I was here and it was Saturday around 11:15.... They got the oil change done in 15 mins...that was quick for a Saturday... The staff was very cordial and warm. This actually happened in 2013 and after hearing another friends RECENT nightmare they scolded me for not posting this on Yelp.. I went to Kwik Kar In Carrollton To get my oil changed and while I was getting my Oil changed I asked Diane Kalaf how much it would be for them to change my front and rear breaks if I brought in my own set of new breaks... She verified the type of Car and quoted me 131.00 since I would be providing my own parts and it would be just labor only. I said I would do that later on down the week. I came back on 01/16/2013 and asked Diane If we could go ahead with the repair. She confirmed the type of Car and asked if I would be supplying rotors. I said no and asked if they could just "turn" the rotors...she did some quick math on her calculator and said ok the total would be 155.00 to turn the rotors and they were booked for the day so I made an appointment for 01/17/2013. I dropped the car of at 10:30 AM on 01/17/2013... after a few hours I received a call from Diane stating that the rotors could not be turned and they had to be replaced. She quoted 240.00 for her to supply the rotors. I said no thank you and I will bring some new rotors to you. So I went and bought new rotors for 100.00 at autozone and quickly took them to KWIK KAR for repair. I came back a few hours later to pick up my car and all of the sudden my BILL was 261.00!!!! And both owners (Diane and Marc) were gone...the girl that works the counter acted like she had a problem when I asked her to call and Confirm with Diane. She called Diane who stated she would be right back... I waited for them to return When she returned SHE BLATANTLY LIED AND SAID NO, YOU ARE WRONG I NEVER QUOTED YOU THAT...I QUOTED YOU 135.00 FOR THE FRONT AND 135 FOR THE REAR. I laughed and said absolutely not...we were very clear that I needed front and rear changed.. She became agitated and said well you just have to pay it there is no way i am lowering our labor that much... She became very rude and said well you just cant have your car back then. I said I was calling the cops...which I did In the mean time Marc came in and would not talk until I asked if he would like to get involved to help resolve this...he became belligerent and started calling me a mother fu^^er and told me he was going to place a lien on my car and that I would pay no matter what.. He threatened me several times saying he was going to throw my @ss out ...i told him go ahead and try and I wasnt leaving until the police came.... The police finally show up and say that they are sorry that it is a CIVIL matter and there is nothing they can do if they have my car then I would have to pay and then take them to court ...he said he was sorry and that he responds to 2 or 3 complaints a month for the same thing at this location where people are quoted one thing and then billed for another... they are total LIARS AND SCAM ARTISTS... After releasing my car to the tech who drove it into the bay for an oil change; I walk inside the waiting area. I was the only person inside waiting besides the person checking out. I was never spoken to as a customer. I also thought this is strange; but waited until I got a thought. I looked on my phone for a coupon; and when I asked the older gentlemen behind the counter if they took coupons. He immediately shook his head and said no; I asked was he sure because they were listed with the address on Groupon. He stated he had owned the business 30 plus years and he does not accept coupons. He stated he could hike the price and then use the coupon and he could give it to me at that price they are listing. I then told him, I was just asking. He stated those people are not honest when they list those coupons. I did say anything else; I went back and sat down. I waited until my car was complete; then the wife said to me she was going to give me a $5 discount since I was a first time customer. I said "thank you." When I looked at the receipt; I did not receive a discount and the price was higher than what Groupon had listed as the price. Lesson well learned; I will not patronize this establishment again. Avoid this place. Rude owners at this place and they have no problem wasting your time. They'll lie and give you an estimate on how long something will take and hours later still not even look at your car. It's unbelievable how rude people at this place are when you're going there for a service. Update to my review - I have since filed with the BBB. Upon receiving my complaint KwikKar is refunding me the $91 in unapproved parts. It appears they do seem to care about making things right. First time doing a review and I really feel compelled to let you know of my experience yesterday. I have used this Kwik Kar for about a year now for oil changes and have not ever had much of an issue. Yesterday I took my truck in for a diagnostic on the cooling system. It was leaking coolant and not sure if it was the radiator or water pump. I received a call around 9:45am from Diane the owner. The water pump was the cause and had leaked coolant all over the two belts - AC and serpentine. It was recommended that I replace the two belts and of course the water pump. The total I was quoted was $599 and I said okay, do it. I was a little taken aback as Chevy's quote for water pump was between $240 and $650. I was hoping to save some money from not having it done a the dealership. I was also told that I could buy my own parts and bring them in, but they wouldn't warranty them. Which is okay because the only warranty Kwik Kar gives is the same one year manufacturers warranty that you get regardless who puts it on. I get a call around 2:30 that it's ready. I called to tell them I'd be there around 5:30 and then I received another call from Diane. She tells me that they had to do MORE work and add two pulleys for the two belts. She said since they did the work already without prior approval she would not charge me the labor, just for parts. So now to pick up my truck it's $690, not the $599 I had approved. I explained to Diane when I picked up my truck that I am unemployed at the present time and I really didn't have the $599 so to add work I didn't approve is a little unsettling. She said she understands that's why she's not charging me for the labor. Then she proceeded to say that they are an "honest shop". Well Diane, you are in fact NOT an honest shop if you do unapproved work and expect your customer to pay for it. Ninety dollars may not be a lot to some to come up with and I'm very thankful I had it, but it's the principle - I was quoted a price and it should have not changed without prior approval. Sadly, I will not be back to this location for my oil changes or any other automotive needs. read more

Don't go here! I've been to other Kwik Kar places and usually they're great, but this place is horrible. They overcharge for oil changes, and I've never seen such a rude staff. The man outside was decent but the receptionist was rude, obnoxious, condescending, and flat out mean. I went here for an oil change, inspection, and to check out one issue. I have been going to this auto repair place for years. It is a family run business, and they treat customers the way that they, themselves, would want to be treated. I don't know much about cats at all, and they always take the time to explain what is wrong, and, most importantly- what my options are. I have never once felt 'taken advantage of', and have referred many friends and family, who have all had positive experiences as well ( including an aunt that had car troubles while visiting from out of state!) if you are in need of car repairs, or just an oil change, I highly recommend this shop. read more

Do not take your car here! They charged me $90 for an a/c check that is done free everywhere else. When I showed them a free a/c check coupon on the Kwik Kar website they said that doesn't apply to their store. I will never go here again and will make sure everyone knows they are a rip off. The owner and the workers there are rude. They don't listen to the customer's concern and simply just need you to pay, regardless if you're satisfied with their service. I was there for the state inspection and they were very unprofessional and inconsiderate when I asked more inforamtion on the issues they said I failed. When I tried to ask more questions, the owner just said it's not his problem. When I called to the shop to ask for the missing item in the car, they said they returned it and wouldn't listen to one more word I needed to say and hung up the phone. This location has really bad customer service and they do not care if you're happy with the service. I don't recommend anyone to go there. read more

Before making a 300 trip to Houston, I did the responsible thing and got an oil change. The very next day, while in the middle of nowhere, my engine died. A 2015 Hyundai...just doesn't happen by chance. After being towed to the nearest shop, they found my drain plug sitting in my belly pan, leaving my vehicle bone dry. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION! I won't be coming back to this location. My company has been bringing the fleet to this location for a long time. I have recently found out they never replace the filters, and most times they did not fill the oil in during oil changes. To assure we weren't jumping the gun and assuming things pictures were taken before taking it to the location, and sure enough they would change out our gas cap. I was told not to take it here anymore, and they warned me never to go again. I have been here the last 3 oil changes, and sure enough, my filter looks terrible, like it's not been replaced in a long time. Most mechanics are rude as can be, and they claim to give you synthetic oil, they up charge you but don't actually give it to you, if you are lucky to even get it filled. They have over filled my tires in the past, and have had to release the air in them. I would not recommend this location to anyone! read more

I am a single professional female and don't know a lot about car issues but have always been treated courteously and with concern and respect. My RAV 4 had several cat. converter issues which they fixed promptly and extremely economically, and I've always had great follow-up on any repair I've had with them. Mark and sons are extremely thorough and knowledgeable and Diane is very personable and committed to good customer service. I will continue to be a customer there and am somewhat surprised at the negative reviews posted. They failed my inspection because of my HID brighter than factory lights are unsafe because if you turn them off they don't come back on but I also have HID Fog lamps that can be turned on and off at anytime just as bright. When I came back with the correct lights they were talking bad about me and I guess they did not realize I was in line again they made me wait a second time for another 30 minutes after they made me wait the first time for an hour and 20 minutes and I called before I came and asked if there was a wait time and they told me no. I asked why there were 3 people in front of me they said sorry one of the machines isn't as fast as the other one. I am an ASE Certified Machanic and an Automotive Parts Manager and I call BS on that. The lady was very nice but very pushy the mechanic would not stop arguing with me and I believe the owner or boss the one that was pointing all the fingers was very rude to me and treated me very bad he also threatened to call the cops on me if I gave them a bad review on Yelp after I told them I was going to give him a bad review on Yelp and then he told me he was going to come looking for me if I gave them a bad review so here is my BAD review come find me. This specific kwik lube is disgraceful. I go in for an oil change and ask the cost, they say $35 + tax. Ok. Then ask if I want reg or full synthetic, I say synthetic and they go about their job. They bring me my car and a $70 bill! Apparently full synthetic is double! I've never seen an oil change cost that. I get upset and ask why I was told $35. Their response is "we asked you if you wanted regular or synthetic". I say yes but you should have told me it was double to which they said, "you didn't ask for the price" like me asking 2 min before for the cost wasn't apparent that I wanted to know the cost of the service I was getting before they did it. The most deceptive business practice I've seen in a long time. And to say they're rude is an understatement. I dropped my car off today a little before 8:30, this morning. My vehicle needed to have the air conditioning and brakes looked at before I left town. ( I went yesterday at 4 and they told me they wouldn't have time to look at it then) they said it would be about an hour and a half. I said fine, and left. By 11, I'd still not heard back. I get there and see a mechanic socializing for a good five minutes with a customer clearly not working. It's my turn and I tell the lady I was there to pick up my car. She informed me they'd not even started looking at it, which the mechanic blurts out there were SEVEN cars in front of me! I have no idea how that was even possible since all the customers waiting, were new and clearly I was not a priority. He was so rude and then stormed back to the shop. This is aggravating to say the least especially when I'd been waiting over two hours. Clearly I will not return but this is not acceptable and should not be tolerated. My father and I have taken all of cars here for about 10 - 15 years. If I am in Dallas, I take my vehicle here to get everything taken care of. I have always had great customer service and the shop really has a mom & pop type feel which I value. You pay a premium for oil changes and service but you can rest easy knowing that the job was done right. Today my perception of the shop was changed. I went in to have the oil changed on my truck and have a professional set of eyes look at my serpentine belt before I leave for a long weekend trip. I did not know if there were any issues but I just wanted to be sure. Older man with orange glasses tells me that the belt looks fine and they proceed with my oil change. Somewhere during this time, another mechanic notices a weird noise and the diagnosis was a Serpentine belt tensioner making a funny noise. The aforementioned old orange glasses man and the second mechanic get in an argument about this somehow. Best part is that this all somehow my fault. (Not a mechanic) Orange glasses comes back in and proceeds to yell at me about losing a mechanic... "That guy was worth 10 of me" & "get this guy out of here". I was actually planning on having them do the repair work on the pulley. I just paid $60 bucks for an oil change and this guy comes in to yell at me about a noise my truck is making... I wont be back. Unbelievable. I guess some where over the course of the past 10 years they have forgotten what customer service means. My father wont be back. This store has lost all business from my family and I. Instead of getting into a yelling match with an old man in public, I decided to come leave my thoughts here and leave it at that. I have been bringing my car here for all maintenance and any issues that arise for about 3 years and I must say I have received excellent service every time. They are very knowledgeable and have highly skilled mechanics. 2 times my car has had major issues first time was an ac issue that another shop could not fix after 2 tries - I brought my car here the wonderful couple that owns this shop made sure it was fixed even offered for me to bring the car back in a few days to make sure the work done turned out right. Second time I had a power steering leak with previous attempts to fix at other places and kept recurring, brought it here, received great service and have never had any issues since. Bottom line, i bring my car here for everything big or small. Oil changes and inspections are done in a timely manner. I highly recommend this location. Btw this is the first review I've ever done. I've had bad experiences in the past getting cheated at repair places so I'm very critical about who takes care of my car. I read a lot of YELP reviews and I always say, "I'm sure this place wasn't that bad!" however, THIS PLACE WAS THAT BAD! An employee named Charlie came to my car and asked what was the issue. I explained to him the issue I was having with my oil gauge. He straight up pointed to another parking lot and told me to pull over there and check my own oil and if it was still low to go back to the place it was last changed to figure out what the problem was. Here I am waiting in line for a service and he basically tells me that he's not interested in helping. His tone and attitude was unprofessional and honestly the most disrespectful encounter I've every experienced.
