This is not a traditional café. I was looking for a breakfast place on the way to the Temple. This was right on the way so I thought I'd give it a shot. But when I got inside, I realize it's actually a Chinese restaurant. I'm ordering anyway. We'll see how god or bad the food is. I'm ordering the chicken and cheese omelette. I asked the server what kind of cheese. She said It was at the yellow kind. I asked if there was options. She said no one kind of shoes. I got coffee and it was not very strong and the cream came and little creamers like you get at a gas station. So I know this is not going to be an amazing, dining experience, but a boys got to eat. I asked for water when I first got here with coffee. She repeated it back to me and I said yes cold water and hot coffee. She didn't bring me water. The omelette wasn't the tastiest but it had a lot of chicken. Which was nice. I got water when I asked again.

Better than Bon's Off Broadway. Kyle's is the very definition of greasy spoon. An abundance of cheap, fried breakfast and lunch items fill the menu. Your choice of Chinese and/or Western. We ordered their Sunrise breakfast featuring 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, 2 bacon strips, two eggs, 2 toast and hash-browns for about $7. As you can see in the photos, if the pancakes had been on the griddle for another 10 seconds, they would've been burnt. Everything else, however, came out okay but nothing exceptional. We also ordered their chicken chow mein and sweet and sour shrimp combo. The portion of chow mein was quite large, and very greasy, as to be expected. I did not find an abundance of shredded chicken, however. The shrimp was heavily battered and crispy. The tangy sweet and sour sauce gave it a nice kick. This place was quite busy with several locals/regulars who knew each other by name. Service was excellent. Parking on the side streets nearby was free and abundant, even on a Saturday morning. Not the best place to eat, but you can expect to leave very full for under $10 per person.

It's a very strange feeling to be eating food that tastes ok while sensing an inherent warning about the quality of the ingredients. Similar to the feeling you get when you are drunk and happy, but know that any more booze will result in disaster, Kyle's Café offers cheap diner style food that is likely all cooked on the same, unwiped grill. But some people have a large tolerance to aging grease, and those fortunate few will find that Kyle's is a decent, very friendly restaurant just south of Commercial Drive Skytrain Station. With a large menu and plenty of "Chinese-Canadian" options, it's a fine venue to take a friend for a slow afternoon breakfast. The seating is nice, with some tables on raised platforms next to the plate glass storefront windows. And the décor is pleasant and quaint, almost a perfect recreation of the Chinese-Canadian theme. Perfect for story telling and undisturbed gossip sessions, Kyle's Café has its own brand of class, it just has nothing to do with the quality of the food. But what can you expect from a $2.95 breakfast?

    Yum! Loved this stuff.

Food was great. Had the stir fried beef in soy sauce flat rice noodle and the bbq prok fried rice. Coffee was topped often and service was friendly.

First time here. Came to try the Dumplings and the Beef Noodle…read more The Dumplings were pretty good but not as impressive as my Chinese neighbour makes them but thats my bias. The Beef Noodle soup was ok but not as flavourful as Red Beef for example. It lacked a bit of kick. The meat was a little too soft for my taste but its very personal. I did see some other very interesting dishes so I will be back to try those and give a better verdict. Service was good and its a very big place despite what it looks like on the outside.

We ate what would normally be a $100-$125 US meal for under $80 US. It was awesome. We got so much food - it was ridiculous. We ate quite a bit and saved the rest for leftovers. The servers were super nice and sweet. Very family friendly. We found our new go-to spot in Vancouver, B.C. Also, if you give it a little time the parking isn't too bad. Dinasty also stays open a little later than most restaurants in town, making this a viable option when in a pinch for food but running late in the day. Will absolutely go back next time in town. Thanks for having us. Comparable to Dough Zone or Din Tai Fung, somewhere right in between with quality and cost. Everything was yummy.

However, what truly disappointed me was the poor service. Even though the restaurant was not busy, the dishes were served very slowly. The first 2 dishes came out fast, but the later 2 dishes came out after 45 min. When we asked for additional rice and water, we had to wait an unusually long time. Throughout the meal, we felt neglected. It was hard not to feel that the level of service was noticeably indifferent, possibly because we did not order any high-priced seafood or premium dishes. For a restaurant at this price point, the service was simply unacceptable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not return and would not recommend it.
