Im standing in the empty showroom that used to have mowers and bicycles and most importantly about 3 people who had every small engine part memorized for any engine built since Moses was a young boy in Egypt or at least in the last 40 maybe 50 years. WELL, ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END. AS OF THE FIRST OF JAN 2017, Those people are all gone. The place has mini bikes to kill or maim your kids, uber expensive 4 wheel go carts, service like a car dealership. If you want a Toro mower, "yeah we got them. They are over there". The one left over counter help girl is so flustered because she has no help, that the line is now 5 deep. Apparently, the go kart place up 377 bought it as a repair shop but its pretty poor. It is cleaner inside, nice expoxy floors, new white paint on the walls. But gone is the feeling that they know anything about your stuff. Every part has to be looked up on their computerized inventory system. I had a chain saw that was in for repair never got called back. Went today and the left over said "It may be gone"..no offer to help, oh well. She was so busy there was no time to offer any hope. So now I'm out a $200.00 chain saw? Just picked up my pressure washer that needed to be flushed and carb work for 130.00 which I am not arguing that price although it was high. However when I asked them to start it for me before loading in my car, after 5th time of pulling rope on a less than 2 year old pressure washer he broke the rope and then charged me for replacing the rope 25.87 the amount of rope was .65 on receipt, the rest was labor, now does this seem fair? I could understand if it was an old machine kept out in the sun. but it was kept in storage shed. They broke the rope in front of me on a machine that usually started up on first pull every time and then charge me labor for breaking rope? Doubt I will use them again. read more

You guys are local, and I want to support you, in fact, I did! I bought a $400 lawnboy from you last year...instead of going to Lowe's or Home Depot. Last week (June..the height of mowing season), a part of it broke and now I need it repaired (metal hook that's part of the propulsion wire). What did you tell me? 5 (five...five...five!) weeks to repair! I want to support local businesses, but local shops have to support their loyal clients in return. So, today I found a lawnboy dealer in Colleyville that guarantees a 10 day turn-around. So, I picked up the mower from Kyle's and took it to Colleyville...Kyle's didn't even ask why. Very nice people; courteous and professional, but incredibly slow! I've been waiting since February (almost six weeks) for a simple tune-up of my mower. When I called to inquire about the status they could not (or would not) look up the record without the invoice# (which is at home on the refrigerator, of course!) Kyle's appears to have a loyal following and I'm sure they do fine work...but their business practice of "I'll get around to it when I have time" is maddening. Every other company in the world hires seasonal help for their rush times. Perhaps if customers were not so willing to tolerate a six week wait then Kyle's management would be more inclined to hire additional labor? read more

They changed a flat tire on my mini bike in one day and when I picked it up, I had them take a look at a small Tecumseh engine. It was missing the air filter case and a filter...he was able to find the case for me and sold me the filter. Very nice staff and super helpful. Haven't been to Kyles in years...back when they sold skateboards, but will definitely keep going back! read more

I have yet to even pick up the lawnmower that I dropped off at Kyles over three weeks ago. Several days ago I checked to see what the progress was and after nearly 3 weeks they're still not done. I was told to expect a bill of $150 on it admittedly low price lawn more of not more than $200 brand new. When I stopped in they informed me that their invoice was now approaching more than $190 and for that they didn't even balance and sharpen the blade or correct the power drive system which was slipping when I brought it in and I had asked to be repaired. This place is under new management I did not get a chance to deal with the old management but these people apparently are high priced low effort low result low responsibility slow turn around and run by kids would rather build go karts. I'm just gonna buy another mower. Complete waste of time. read more

Very disapointing and I would not recommend this business to anyone. If there was a way to give this company less than one star I would. I dropped my mower off at Kyle's over two weeks ago for a simple tune up. At that time I was told that it won't take more than two weeks to get my tune up done but they would call me and let me know if it was ready sooner. Its now been over two weeks and when I called to get a status on my tune-up they told me that they hadn't looked at it yet. They also told me that they couldn't be tell me when it will be complete as it is being looked at in the order that it came in. We are talking about lawn mowers and go-cart engines here.... These aren't indy or nascar race engines. I should have just changed the air and fuel filter myself but I thought it was a good idea to support a small local business. To add insult to injury, Kyle's took a non refundable deposit of nearly $75 when I dropped my mower off so they have no incentive to provide prompt and professional service. If I can save one person from making the same mistake that I did by trusting this company then it was worth writing this post. read more

I'd put a zero if they had one. Called up there and gave a model number. Got put on hold so they could pull up a daigram....then after a 7 min. wait got hung up on. Called right back woman asked if i gave a model number ,I said yes. She tells me how busy they are, and I ask if that's how they treat their customers, by just hanging up on them. Tells me she's not the one that answered the phone ( typical) and repeats how busy they are. She starts to ask someone if they pulled it up and mid sentence the line goes to hold.. Apparently the customer on the phone is not as important as a customer in front of your face and also it's to difficult to pick the phone up and ask for a number and say that they need to call back. I went in for some simple advice about fixing my weed eater. Punk kid working on his bicycle acted like i was wasting his time. His attitude pissed me off from the get go. He begrudgingly came outside and began to tell me what a pos weed eater i had. I was only looking for some kind advice, not a snot nosed punk talking down to me. Ok they had the part I needed on hand. They also happened to be the only ones in the area who did. That being said their service is less than adiquate. I had to stand there holding two heavy tires waiting for them to acknowledge me. In the mean time they held a conversation with a sales rep. I have (had) been a customer of Kyle's for several years, but that ends today. Ever since the new ownership took over, there has been a drastic drop off in customer service and the quality of products offered. Last week, I bought new blades for my Honda mower. When I got home, I realized they were cheaply made and very flimsy compared to the original blades, so I went to Home Depot to get OEM blades (which, by the way, were about $5 cheaper than the poor quality blades I bought at Kyle's!). So I took the cheap blades back to Kyle's to return this morning. They charged a 20% restocking fee. For mower blades. To walk in the back room and put them back on a shelf. And they didn't mention the restocking fee; I noticed the difference on the original receipt and the return receipt and asked about it, and it took them about three minutes to figure out the reason for the difference. When I asked if they were really going to charge me the restocking fee, the lady told me "I just do what my boss tells me to do." There are apparently no independent thinkers that interface with customers at Kyle's. This wasn't an isolated issue. Last year, I took my Echo weed-eater in for service; they said it would take about a month, but probably less. It took a little over three months, and I had to return twice because they didn't fix it correctly the first two times. They tried to charge me when I had to return, but finally relented when I explained is wasn't fixed correctly the first two times. I should have been able to charge them for my time and trouble of having to go back so many times. Most of the products they stock now are cheap knock-offs of quality brands; they do still have some quality name-brand products, but it appears the overall quality of products offered is now cheap knock-offs. The previous ownership and staff at Kyle's were fantastic; they would go out of their way to make sure I was completely satisfied. The new ownership and staff apparently doesn't care about any of the things that the old Kyle's believed in providing to their customers. I will be taking my business elsewhere; unless you enjoy poor, ambivalent customer service and higher prices for inferior products, I strongly suggest you consider doing the same. read more

Great Local business! I brought in my gas edger that needed one little adjustment that took 5 minutes and a $10.00 charge- I was then on my way home with my edger in hand and it was working superbly. ( too much gas was going in and it was flooding). Nice group of very friendly people! I will recommend them to anyone who needs work on their yard tools! Dropped off a generator that needed the carburetor cleaned after not winterizing it, and the lady told me (6) ....yes SIX weeks to fix......since I didn't think I would need it, I figured OK, since they've been there forever, I'll trust them to fix it..... Should have read the reviews first...... That's why Kyle's has been there forever as they keep your stuff forever....then they never call you to tell you HOW MUCH it's going to be before they actually get around to repairing it........they just fix it, and then when you call to find out what the heck happened to your stuff, they surprise you with a dollar amount that is absurd for a repair of that nature. So I can either PAY UP or suck it up, and since I bought the thing for my recreational use, I guess I need it, so suck it up I will. Not sure how much the labor is, to clean a carburetor on basically a lawn mower, but I know I'm in the wrong business if it's anything what these guys charged me..... Just walk in and take your wallet out and give them the contents and hold your hands in the air......that is their operation in a nut shell...and don't complain... Took my mower in for carburetor service, before the spring rush. I was told three weeks for repair. After multiple calls, I got it back after six weeks. Got it home and filled it with gas, only to have the tank leak around the top seam. So I took it back. I was told "tanks sometimes pop" and that there was no way they did anything that would have caused the problem BUT, they would be happy to fix it (for a price). NO THANKS!!! read more

Save yourself both time and frustration. Very poor customer service. Overpriced, and don't complete the work. Call me stupid because this it the third and last time I will deal with this business. Each time they choose to throw high priced parts at the problem rather than just do the correct repair. They have repaired a tubeless tire by adding a tube. Now the tube has gone flat twice and each time they have replaced with another new tube. NEVER once did they check to see if the tube was bad, or attempt to patch the tube. NEVER once did they check the valve core or attempt to replace it. Just charge the customer for a new tube and labor. You have be warned !!! read more

Took a weed eater into their shop back in February for a tuneup. The day I picked it up they started it and it ran just fine. Today I tried to use it for the first time and while it started just fine it would not run at a speed other than idle speed. Took it back there today and they fixed it with no questions asked. Please people, read these reviews, I didn't. I used Kyle's in the past but have been doing most of my repairs myself since I've had the time. I decided this time to just let the pro's do a simple tune-up so I could do other things (Even though the price was only $20 bucks less than purchasing a new mower on sale). I decided to bite the bullet and support small business because of the problems going on in the world right now with the Wuhan Virus, un-employment, and demonstrations/riots. I did not realize they were not the same management I had previously been dealing with. I should have realized it when they could not find me on their computer system with some simple searches. When they called to add more repair cost I turned the wheel replacement down but agreed for other additions since they were already working on it. My son picked it up for me last week and put it in the garage. I got it out today and the pulled the starter rope and it pulled straight out and did not catch the flywheel causing no compression or engagement but recoiled back in. I took it back and the female counter employee that had checked it in for my repair weeks ago came out to my vehicle and said your right it doesn't start. She told me I probably pulled it wrong and may have messed it up. I asked why they did not check the unit before sending it home with my son. They told me they check it two to three times. She offered to check it back in to check it out. I was mad but agreed and went inside to do the paperwork. She told me it was a $20 deposit I got pissed and said, "I already paid almost $200 for this s- -t, no thanks" and walked out. I called management after I returned home, and they told me basically the same thing and that maybe I had installed the spring wrong. Not sure how I broke the new spring that I just purchased from them a few months ago. He told me I could bring it back because it wasn't about money like I was making it out to be. I live to far away to waste any more of my time with Kyle's. They should provide better training to their employees so they might ask a customer that is mad to wait a minute and I'll get someone that can help you instead of I am told I have to collect a $20 dollar deposit. I give this place 0 stars. The customer service is beyond reprehensible. The lady at the front counter really needs to have her attitude checked. Every time I had to talk to this lady she has pretty much argued with any statement I made. I told her I was there to pick up a repair on my lawnmower pull string and she condescending ly replied to me that it wasn't a repair because I didn't drop off the entire mower. Well lady my string broke and yall fixed I'm no English professor but I'm pretty sure that is the definition of a repair. I also forgot to mention that I received this southern charm after she spent 5 minutes telling the guy in front of me that he already picked his parts up. I'm pretty sure this guy has better things to do on a Friday than pretend he needs to pick up his parts if he already had them. The place was sold and the original owner was interested in the customer service. New owners seem to be uptight and more interested in getting your money and forget the customer. I left my riding mower for tune up. Sign said average price was 80 bucks. They call say it is 280 because it needs additional parts. I say ok and it runs. After being there over a month, I go pick it up and find it was left outside in the weather and rain for a month. WHAT THE Heck. So they don't care about your property except your MONEY property. Simply unreasonable. We took three bikes in for flats. Before leaving them I asked for an idea of the cost. What I was told was very cheap, like $5 to $8 per bike. Then I mentioned that I assumed I'd be able to pick them up the next day. Nope. The woman said it would probably be a week turn-around! (For a few flat tires?) I figured the long wait was the trade-off for the cheap repair price. Well, after a week I hadn't gotten a call so we called them and found out they hadn't even started on them yet! But the next day the guy called and he'd repaired two of the bike flats. (Just because we called about them probably.) However, he then tells me all this other work that he needs to do on the third bike, like $65 worth of repairs. None of this was a surprise to me. It's a crappy spare bike we literally paid $5 for at a garage sale. It's got a lot of rust but it rides ok. Besides, what does any of that have to do with a flat tire? When we went to pick up the bikes the third bike had not had its flat fixed, so after a week and a day only two of the three bikes we dropped off had their tires repaired. On top of that the final price $37.88 for two flat tires!!!!!! Apparently the price I'd been quoted before was only for parts but then they sock it to you on labor. It's insane. i have always been pretty lucky getting repairs done for a pretty reasonable price on every thing from lawnmowers and tillers to electric generators and heavy duty power washers. sometimes the turnaround time is a little long but once you adapt to that like by dropping off, say a mower at the end of summer instead of first day of spring it usually works out ok. i don't think their is anything kyle can't fix along those lines. the lady at the counter has always been nice to me and his helpers always come right out to load or unload heavy equipment for me. i have been going there since he opened the doors and can't remember ever having any major problems, on top of that it is nice that there is someplace you can still smoke even though it's just a repair shop and not someplace like a bar or ANY place else where everyone who smokes has to kiss the ass of every one who doesn't, it's refreshing. al rich watauga read more
