This is such a welcomed addition to the town center strip mall. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are affordable. I dare say that their beef Chow Fun is some of the best I've had in San Diego- not soggy, perfect amount of dryness and bite. Their minced pork noodles were also mouthwatering good. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but there is more than enough seating when we came on a Sunday afternoon. The server gave us prompt service and was very efficient in getting us our food and drinks. I can see this becoming one of my regular favorites!

Came here to try the breakfast, and it was good. Everything came out fresh and fast. We had: Pineapple Bun w. Butter, Chinese Donut, Pork Congee & the Radish Cake. When they brought out our food to the table everything was piping hot. The service was good. The inside was nice and clean. Thank you Joyee Noodle House for your hospitality and tasty food. Will come back and try more on the menu.

This is still a solid four I tried some new dishes, like the bamboo and pork which was delicious and again the braised beef noodle soup was amazing. The best overall dish again goes to the pork belly and tofu. The service is attentive and quick, but you are going to be given limited napkins, and if you're needing more smaller bowls, ask for the whole table if you're in a larger party. The turnip cake also was a star because it was strangely different than other dim sum places where you have the crunchy outside and really soft inside. Flavors are pretty on point again. This is better than driving all the way to convoy. If you live in the university city area I would say this is worth a visit and it is just a a few minutes from UTC mall Ratings Beef noodle soup 5/5 Pork and tofu 5/5 sticky rice 3/5 Popcorn chicken 3/5 Turnip cake 5/5 Green beans 4/5

My friend and I were super excited to try out this place for Taiwanese breakfast. We had the egg crepe with dry pork and taro, fried shrimp rolls, rice shrimp rolls and pork and chive dumplings. Nothing was great and the combo of taro and dry pork was bad. Soggy and tasted almost like it had iceberg lettuce and mayo in it. The pictures showed it was toasted. Our was not. We seated ourselves in a corner and we had to go ask for service a couple of times. The decor was a standard strip mall look. I won't drive all the way there for. Their food.

Back again but this time to try their new breakfast menu which is only available from Fridays-Sundays. We ordered quite a lot of food and these are some of the highlights: Taro and Dry Pork Sandwich: the sweet, creamy taro paired very nicely with the savory pork floss. Sticky Pork Rice: interesting take on sticky rice, they nailed the flavor while stuffing it into a steamed dumpling wrapper. Radish Cake: bite-size, deep-fried perfection! Pineapple Bun w/ Pork: the bun is light and has a delicious sweet crust. The pork is tender and the savory contrast to the sweet bread is really good. We also tried these but I thought they were just okay and wouldn't order again: Egg Crepe: I didn't like how the crepe part was still a bit doughy, like it was undercooked. Pork Sausage: Taiwanese sausage, slightly sweet but the overall flavors tasted dull. Steam Shrimp Roll: very expensive for what you get and I thought the rice paper was too thick. Chinese Donut: way too thick, in my opinion. I was expecting something light and crispy. I believe their menu has changed since we last visited and the Taro and Dry Pork Sandwich is no longer available. There are also some new items so I'll have to come back and try them!

Honestly it should be 3.5. The place, as my friends called it, pan-Asian. There's no theme. You can eat anything. Breakfast, snack, noodle, standard chinese entree dishes, etc. It was hard for me to figure out what to eat. Most dishes were OK. Among the dishes we ordered, I liked the stir fried noodle with chicken the most. The duck was ok but a bit salty. Kunpao chicken was a bit too sweet and too much sauce. The noodle soup didn't have much taste, my least favorite dish. I wanted to like the pork with onion bun but the pork was too tough I thought it was beef! They were so nice to give us the crispy puff to try, on the house. The inside was black sesame paste. Again, it's OK, not great.

My wife suggested for our Lunch to come to this restaurant to try it and it was a good choice. The food was all delicious. My wife tried each in the plate first and with every bite all I hear from her was "yummm " It is the first time we had an EGG WITH TOMATO NOODLE, we kept seeing it at the other restaurants but never order it. So we decided to give it a try, and wow, such a simple dish but so pleasant to eat, very simple but good, i will keep ordering this from now on if i see it on the Menu list. The SMOKE & SALT DUCK were amazing, very tender, and had such a balance of seasoning on it. The meat was not dry; it's so Juicy and very Tasty. PORK BELLY with TOFU is very Tasty too . The Dumplings were juicy, I dont eat much of the Dumplings but in this restaurant, I will. This is a small restaurant but I definitely wanted to dine here again . Also they just opened up last week . The Staff are nice, Allen our waiter was very friendly. They do have outdoor seating too and a good amount of spaces for parking.

Grabbed a fairly late lunch over the weekend at Joyee just as they were transitioning from their dim sum to their regular lunch menu. We were eyeing some of the dim sum items, but totally on us for arriving late. We were seated promptly and put in our orders. The dishes came out as they were ready. Overall, this is a quick way to temporarily fulfill a dire need for dishes like dan dan noodles or pig ear. However, if you're willing to make the effort to head down to Convoy, you'll find many more options that I feel are a better balance of quality and value.

Newly opened Joyee Noodle House in the UTC area! The restaurant is newly remodeled and has a modern vibe to it. It is the sister restaurant to Joyee dumpling house that has multiple locations across San Diego. This location has a different menu for breakfast and dinner compared to the dumpling houses. The menu is smaller and simpler catering for the population at this location. The dinner and noodles were great! I really enjoyed their noodles! Either the beef noodle soup or the dry beef noodles. However, I don't like their breakfast as much. It's pricey and not really the style and flavors that I like. I am excited to see them here and offer good dinner options.

Saw there's a new place that opened up and had Chinese style breakfast. Not sure if Joyee Dumpling House is their sister restaurant, but the menu is different and the price is much more reasonable too! We came early for their breakfast on Sunday. From 9AM-11:30AM they serve only the breakfast and then they open up for lunch. If you're interested in their noodle soups, you'll have to wait for the lunch time. For breakfast we ordered a few items: Sticky Pork Rice Sui Mai 5/5 - Steamed to perfection, the filling is so flavorful and tasted like the ones you would have in China. Radish Cake 2/5 - Not our favorite. In the photo it looks like the lightly pan fried, but it's actually super fried. I highly recommend for you to make a steam version instead as it was too greasy. There's also not enough radish. Soy Milk (Cold + Sweet) 4/5 - Wish they offer a hot version and the waiter did offer to microwave it, but cold version will do as well. Chinese Donut 4/5 - Thank goodness it's fried fresh. Perfect to dip into the soy milk. Egg Crepe 3/5 - I really like the ones you would get at Four Seas in Irvine and it just not enough fluffy egg. Crispy Puff 4/5 - It's super dry flaky style pastry with sweet sesame paste inside. Good size and tasted great! Pork Buns (Hangzhou Style) 3.5/5 - The bread is fluffy and soft. Inside there's flavorful pork filling. I wish it was just a tad bit juicer. There are so many more items to try just on the breakfast and lunch menus. Will be back to try more. They do have a few outdoor seats if you have a dog that you want to bring along.

Fried Bun(6)- and Steam Shrimp Roll-
    Sonya K.

If you're looking for Chinese breakfast, you are in luck! They have everything you are looking for! Soy milk, rice rolls, steamed buns, pan fried buns, radish cake, pork and thousand year egg porridge. You can also have lunch and dinner here, they have noodles and other yummy items. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be back to try it! There's lots of seating inside, they have ten tables, mostly for groups of 2 or 4. They also have 2-3 tables outside on their patio, I saw someone out there eating with their pup beside them. Glad we have more Asian breakfast options in San Diego now!

Stopped by for the breakfast menu, and overall it was a decent experience. Prices were about average, and the food was fairly standard as well. While you can probably find better Chinese food by heading down to Convoy, this seems to be one of the only spots in the area offering Chinese breakfast early in the morning, which makes it a convenient option.

Came here for a Saturday lunch with my mom. We were seated right away. They were starting to get busy. Service was a little slow. We ordered the pork & egg noodle soup & seafood congee. When we got our order, they gave us spam and egg noodle. Instead of pork & noodle but they replaced it with the correct order. My seafood congee was delicious and light and had a hint of sesame oil. The pork & noodle was just okay. I will come back to taste other dishes.

We also ordered the garlic green beans, but they came out so late that we were already completely full from the noodles, so we took them to go. I also noticed other tables getting plates and bowls which we had to ask for. Overall, I felt the servers weren't too friendly either and seemed to rush through our table despite them standing around not seeming too busy. The food was excellent though! The soup had a great spice to it and super flavorful. The beef and onion was so juicy and addictive, the green beans were good too and had a slight kick to them.

The new-new nood bar called Hom Mali. - FOOD: delicious - PRICE: fair (their website shows outdated and cheaper prices) - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: nice updated esthetics It's been awhile since I've ate here and the last time I did it was just The Nood Bar now known as Hom Mali but still shows as The Nood Bar. They updated their decor and like it much better with its refreshing white and green interior giving south-east Asian vibes. The menu has quite a lot of good offerings it was hard to decide but feel not matter what you order here it's going to be delicious and authentic. They did keep several items from The Nood Bar! :: ORDER :: RED GUAVA ICE TEA ($5.95) - Oh my goodness, so yummy and refreshing. I'd say the caffeine level is very light on this one and I am ok with that. After stuffing my face I took a nice nap for someone who is caffeine sensitive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARLIC BUTTER NOODLES {$20.95) - Grilled lemongrass-marinated pork shoulder served over steamed soba noodles tossed with soy sauce, fried garlic, garlic oil, and butter alongside steamed botchy, finished with cilantro and a side of plum sauce. THIS WAS SO FLAVORFUL and yummy. I don't often eat garlic butter noodles so any garlic butter noodle is delicious to me. I did NOT see any fried garlic in my meal and felt it was only garlic oil that was present with the garlic profiles. The noodles were very garlic-y and butter-y. The pork shoulder was also perfectly marinated and dipping it in the plum sauce which was a mix of sweet and tangy paired well with the marination of the meat and butter-ness of the noods. It also came with ONE bakchoy sliced in half to appear as two. And I wish they some how incorporated the cilantro and carrots more into the dish instead of garnish to give some more herbal flavor. Even though, this dish was spot on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Service was great! Did feel awkward when they handed me the machine to tap my card and leave a tip... they stood there watching you press the buttons. No being discreet picking up plates or looking away... just looking right at you. I know it's a thing with many restaurants now but it's awkward and don't feel like I have privacy. I will def be back! So many yummy dishes on the menu to try. Until the next slurp....

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. They provide great service and exceptional food options- The absolute star of the menu are the spicy garlic wings. These deep-fried, house-marinated wings are tossed in a sweet, savory, and aggressively spicy chili-satay oil, often served with a side of ranch 10/10. They are finger licking good! I flock here for their wagyu korean-style short ribs (topped with caramelized onions and cilantro), they are perfectly tender and caramelized- chef's kiss! My wife enjoys their house-special fried rice with beef, shrimp, and chinese sausage 10/10. Absolutely delicious! They also have a great selection of IPA's- my personal favorite is the Mike Hess Into The Sunset Blood Orange. It's crisp, refreshing, and hits the palate every time 10/10. Definitely worth a visit! You won't be disappointed!

We came in tonight for dinner and as always we were blown away with how great the food profiles are. Started out with spring rolls and bao bun tacos, cuz taco Tuesday, and not those tacos are freaking delicious. Puffy bao bun and delicious meat. The spring rolls are a favorite of mine, fresh and delicious dipping sauce. The chow fun beef and veggies (dry stir fry) was absolutely the best I've ever had. Delicious noodles and the beef and veggies were cooked to perfection. My wife had the #9 special with beef and brisket and it too was full of flavor, delicious broth and noodles and the beat was superb. The place gets crowded quickly and there isn't a whole lot of room at this location. We sat at the bar, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on their menu. Overall this place is fantastic and absolutely worth eating there.
