Great find! Really enjoyed dinner here so much that we came two nights in a row! I've never had Katsudon with teriyaki sauce on top but it worked and tasted great! The highlight though was the Seafood Chanpone that my wife ordered! The ambiance is simple but the owners are Korean and were wonderful hosts! I might come back to Yosemite just to eat here again! 1/26/25 Getting lunch! Shrimp Tempura and Yosemite roll ordered along with shrimp tempura ordered. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I went in to get it shortly later. Arrived & checked in. Greeted by nice worker, received order, paid for it and left. Q Restaurant is nice. Calm. Lunchtime! Shrimp tempura roll was Yosemite roll was fresh & Delicious? It's a family ran establishments. You are greeted when walking in but slowly realize you'll be waiting for someone to help you out. Now once you do you'll probably wait a bit but lets get to the food. Food feels home made got a phili-roll, miso ramen & a bulgogi plate. Now the taste was okay tasted home made ( the ramen) now the phili felt home made as well but with less salmon (haha) now lets get to the Bulgogi plate.....NEVER got it... haha. Personally I think it's 3.75 / 5 A nice friendly place to grab some comfort and familiar East Asian food after a long day of trip. I love my salmon poke bowl, it's light yet flavorful, I'm not sure what is the sauce for my poke bowl, definitely not spicy mayo, but I love it, sort of vinegary, brings out my appetite. It also comes with a miso soup, I love it! Spring rolls are hard to go wrong, be careful with the hot stuffing. Also if you don't like or not sure about eel sauce, do mention that beforehand. Tempura rolls are a bit dry for the rice, there are drizzled with eel sauce, if you're strict vegetarian or you're not sure what eel sauce is, may as well ask for sauce on the side. read more

Various types of food to choose from. Service isn't bad but could be friendlier. The sushi is great, we ordered the special plate. Udon was good but the rice plate we ordered were either a bit salty or too sweet. The receipt was hand written, having a hard time reading it. I don't know how much the tax was because it wasn't stated. It just "tax+18% tip". What really good was their hot tea. read more

Ordered the combo a , udon, rainbow roll, pink roll and the agedashi tofu . Staff got our food out fairly fast and our waitress was very sweet. Got asked multiple times if everything was OK. Food it fairly average, im from orange county and we have a lot of amazing japanese restaurants so it seems unfair to compare a place so secluded to that. I thought the nigiri and the udon the best items we had. The sauces for the tempura and agedashi were fairly plain and could use more sodium and sugar . Just had lunch here and it was amazing. I live in the area and most of the restaurants are middle of the road, I love sushi and Japanese food and usually order a lot , I ordered a very similar spread as I do in the city, and the quality of food was better and the price was about half of what I usually spend. Searched for Asian food after a weekend in Yosemite and we ended up here. We had a large group and the owner apologized that they might not be able to get us food in a timely manner or proper service but we let them know that we wouldn't mind! They seemed understaffed and was probably expecting a slow day. They were kind enough to accommodate so we have no complaints there. This place has a medley of different selections! Mostly Japanese, but some Korean. It's crazy how they maintain such a large menu. The rolls are cheaper than usual Japanese restaurants. They did the job, and their rice didn't fall apart easily which is always a plus! Their bulgogi was probably my favorite along with their udon. My only complaint is probably that the katsu in my katsudon was sadly very firm. It sort of felt like I was biting into rubber. My experience would've been perfect if it wasn't for that. I had posted a really good review of this place earlier this morning for the great service my fiancé and I had last night at this restaurant. However when we went back today, I couldn't say it was enjoyable. My fiancé and I got some food at Trader Joe's and wanted a little spicy mayo and soy sauce for our lunch. This restaurant would not sell us spicy mayo or soy sauce if we didn't buy sushi? Weird... would think if a restaurant is getting money for something no matter how small that they would be happy? This would be the best Asian restaurant, if a person never had Asian food before. Never had food this bad before. The ramen ordered was straight from the grocery store Asian isle. The staff was rude and never brought water to the table. The sushi looked like it was made by children and tasted the same. The wasabi had a strange bluish tint to it and the ginger was aged. We had to bring our own water. Was charged a premium rate and kept saying they had to turn others away due to our large party, but no others were at the door and the other side was empty. read more

I ordered a rainbow roll and a California roll. Both were horrible, the rice was old and hard.

My daughter and I got sushi there 2 nights ago. It didn't look great- I assumed they were just using skimpier portions and cheaper ingredients. We ordered 2 rolls a piece because it was late and we were starving. Didn't finish it because it wasn't good. Fast- forward 24 hours and be both became violently ill (and still are this morning). Hit us about 15 minutes apart. My two sons who didn't get sushi are fine. Even without the food poisoning the worst sushi I've ever had. read more

Horrible experience for my family and I. Date 08-31-2024. Dined in to celebrate my mother in law's birthday, she decided she wanted sushi..this place was the only sushi spot open.. the other sushi spot she wanted to eat at was closed for the day which was 5 stars compared to this place 3 stars out of 5. I felt uneasy going in to eat but my mother in law wanted sushi. Not the cleanest place to eat sushi. Half way through our meal, I thought I only noticed but also my mother in law also noticed.. the sushi chef would jump in and take orders for customers WHILE using the same gloves to make sushi with..handling collecting the menus, writing down orders, handling the cashier. I kept turning around watching sushi chef waiting to see if he would change out his gloves but he didn't. Disgusting!!!!! Why is he jumping in taking orders for people when there are two other staff members taking orders? If you are the sushi chef (handle the food) not taking orders for customers while using the same gloves. This place needs to be shut down asap.. I did not order sushi for myself, I felt disgusted walking in already..I ordered katsu curry while my family ordered sashimi and sushi. I was afraid my family or I would get sick on our Labor Day weekend mini family vacation. So please customers if you are reading this please be aware of the sushi chef.. he is plain unsanitary. Kyoto Kafe, Japanese & Korean Cuisine, Oakhurst, California: 7 June 2020 Seafood Champon: This popular Korean spicy noodle soup dish was supposedly created by Chinese immigrants living in Nagasaki, Japan. It has since been adopted by the Koreans, and served in Korean towns all over the world. I've been watching many Korean dramas during this shut-down - and thought I'd try this dish because it looked really good in the movies. I was looking forward to the 'seafood'... fish, clams, prawns, crab, etc. - but what I was presented this evening were mini shrimps, three pieces of fake crab, bits of clams - and one mussel. The soup was tasty and not very spicy. I had trouble with the mussel - it didn't open up and fought me to stay closed. I won... finally, but only managed to pull out tiny bits of flesh. I must say the smooth noodles were very good. (4 of 5 just for the noodles and soup base) Bulgogi: Korean-style grilled dish made of thin, marinated slices of grilled beef. The meat is first marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic and ground black pepper to enhance its flavour. The dish originated from northern areas of the Korean Peninsula, but is a very popular dish in South Korea - where it can be found in upscale restaurants. What we had was seasoned well but the meat itself was quite tough. It's more of chewing and spitting - then swallowing... (3 of 5 for the flavour) Miso soup: This came with the Bulgogi set. Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup consisting of a dashi stock and softened miso paste. This clear soup is - well... clear. The taste is non-descript. (2 of 5) California roll: Nothing to write home about. Rice could be stickier. Service: Due the current pandemic situation, we decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary by ordering take-out. The service was good. Location: Just minutes from our house, we consider this a nice location. Parking is limited though. $$$: I think it's priced on the high side. We've eaten at many Japanese restaurants, and the food here is not on par with some of the ones we've tried in the Bay Area. Overall: There is no on-line menu to look at so we had to call and go down the list of food we've had at other Japanese/Korean restaurants to place our order. We'd like to give this place another try - perhaps something different from what we had today. Maybe after the pandemic situation has cooled down. read more

Soup noodles for dinner is wonderful after long hikes in Yosemite. We had curry chicken plate, tempura udon, couple rolls and jjampong. The curry chicken was a bit tough. The rice was a bit hard too. But soup noodles are great! The three tempuras in the udon are carrot, yam and kabocha. They put lots of chili pepper powder in the tempura udon so it is a bit spicy. If you don't like your udon spicy, have them spare the chili pepper. The jjampong is awesome - it is a must try. owners are warm and nice. I don't mind the restaurant being old with decor outdated. Save your money. Dirty, shady business. Service was the rudest I've EVER had and I am an easy, polite customer. Server kept on closing the menus while we were still reading it. She kept on disrespecting us the whole time we were there. We were barely the only people there but she still missed out most of the orders because she was annoyed at us and almost didnt want to serve us. We were a party of 6 and they gave us an automatic 30%+ tip and refused to give us a breakdown of our receipt. Simple math showed us they overcharged us but they refused to back down. We paid their overcharge because they weren't worth the hassle. But save your time and skip this disgusting restaurant and even more disgusting business owners. read more
