Soup noodles for dinner is wonderful after long hikes in Yosemite. We had curry chicken plate, tempura udon, couple rolls and jjampong. The curry chicken was a bit tough. The rice was a bit hard too. But soup noodles are great! The three tempuras in the udon are carrot, yam and kabocha. They put lots of chili pepper powder in the tempura udon so it is a bit spicy. If you don't like your udon spicy, have them spare the chili pepper. The jjampong is awesome - it is a must try. owners are warm and nice. I don't mind the restaurant being old with decor outdated. It is a small Japanese restaurant in a small town. read more

Food was good for the limited options in town, it came out very quick for us coming in an hour before closed, literally within 10 minutes. Was satisfying portions after a 11 mile hike. The staff was lovely and very attentive. Very homey family restaurant with locals around. Seems like a great place to stop when you're hunkering for Asian cuisine. read more

Save your money. Dirty, shady business. Service was the rudest I've EVER had and I am an easy, polite customer. Server kept on closing the menus while we were still reading it. She kept on disrespecting us the whole time we were there. We were barely the only people there but she still missed out most of the orders because she was annoyed at us and almost didnt want to serve us. We were a party of 6 and they gave us an automatic 30%+ tip and refused to give us a breakdown of our receipt. Simple math showed us they overcharged us but they refused to back down. My family dined here and we ordered seven rolls and two chicken teriyaki bowls. When we received the bill, it totaled $183. My husband didn't mention the amount until we got home, or I would have addressed it immediately. I calculated that our food should have cost, at most, $120. Additionally, they insisted on a tip from my husband and wouldn't allow him to use his card for it, so he had to give $20 in cash. So to start off if you want sushi I'd recommend going to Vons or rally's (vons is better in my opinion) and get yourself box's of what you want or if the chief is there ask for a special order platter in advance Now let's start at the beginning. When we entered it felt like we came to a depression clinic you can tell the "restaurant" has seen better days but right from the entrance it felt old and worn out like a dead horse Next came to ordering options weren't bad but the menu definitely needed a refresh we got 2 appetizers and 4 rolls 2 types of nigiri and a bowl of udon when the waitress (or owner I think this is a family establishment) came took our order and was super friendly gave us our drink and we waited wait time wasn't long for the apps but here is where the "fun" begins The food: Oh dear god the food so for our apps we got Edamame and Gyoza The edamame tasted like it was undercooked it was chalky and stale there was like a sprinkle of salt and that's it. The gyoza wasn't good ither below I have attached what gyoza should look like nice and crispy on the flat side soft and chewy on the top. There's Was deep fried and tasted like it was frozen before infact my mom realized it tasted like her favorite brand from Costco..... so in essence there taking frozen food and reheating it in the deep fryer not exactly a good look in my opinion... For our mains when they came the guy put it on the edge of the table had to grab it and quickly push it on to the table and left so that was exciting we got Yosemite Roll,Spider Roll,Rainbow Roll,California Roll all were meh to bad the sushi rice dosent seem to be seasoned correctly it tasted like normal bland rice (normally you would use vinegar to make the rice sticky) the California rolls tasted bland the avocado amount was way to small and the crab tasted like a mayo bomb and not the Japanese stuff the American stuff same for the others but where it really sucked was the nigiri. We ordered salmon roe and red snapper first the amount of rice used is small and the quality of the fish the snapper was tasteless and bland but it had wasabi on it to the point that was all you could taste but the salmon roe tasted rotten and soapy like it's been sitting out for a while The udon wasn't bad but really nothing special And finally paying the check they don't take Apple Pay (which isn't the end of the world) but the recipet was confusing so normally you get one with i teams you got and with a card from the machine well basically when I signed everything they took the receipt out of my mothers bag like the guy reached in first off I would've smacked your hand out of the way immediately second off the guy has such a raspy voice that we couldn't understand what he was trying to tell us finally I'm assuming his mother came and explained the receipt that we were taking is actually for the restaurant which isn't a problem necessarily but I don't care what it is you don't reach into another woman's purse and try to grab some thing we left said thank you and left Here's my recommendation if you are coming up from the Fresno area go to one of the sushi places there all of the top ones on yelp are all really good if you are already up in the Yosemite area and are really craving for sushi and you don't want to go down to Fresno then go to Vons or rally's as in my opinion they have way better quality food If you somehow find yourself having to go here I would recommend order a Tea and relax while everybody else suffers I don't recommend anyone ever going here the restaurant needs to have an update and quality needs to be checked!!!!! read more

There is very little light ambience, but that was fine, as we were looking forward to having some good authentic Japanese food, but that was not the case I had salmon teriyaki, which was too very small pieces of dry salmon with some teriyaki sauce poured on top of it.
