BBQ Pork w/Egg on Rice ($15.50)

This is a crazy outdoor vibe but indoors. It's like eating at an open market! Cute decor. Service was okay but can use some improvement. Didn't get a water refill. The food was great! I really like the rib eye flavor but it was a little tough. Also enjoyed the eggplant. The noodles were okay. I'd pick something different next time. Yummy BBQ pork in the egg dish. House Special Fried Vermicelli ($16.75) BBQ Pork w/Egg on Rice ($15.50) House Special Fried Vermicelli ($16.75) Ribeye steak with garlic sauce ($19.25) Comes with corn and rice Reasonable prices for the amount given. Plenty of parking in the back.

One of the better Cantonese restaurants! Food comes out quickly and served hot. Each dish was cooked well and was not sitting in an excess amount of oil. Really enjoyed their filet mignon black pepper dish and the salt pepper fried wings and squid combo. Service is quick and the staff is very efficient. Their decor is cute reminds me of Hong Kong life.

This location is so adorable! The staff is very attentive for ordering and refills and I like how those still open and bustling late at night. The food was super yummy and everything came out fast. Parking is easier in the back.

My boyfriend wanted baked pork chop, so we came here. I've never been to Hong Kong so I don't know what it looks like. But when I walked in, it felt like I could've been in Hong Kong. It was colorful and had night time, street-like vibes. We ended up getting the baked pork chop with pasta. Flavor was good. Not as cheesy tasting as other places I've had it at, which is a good thing for me. In general, I think the baked pork chop with rice is better, since I feel the rice absorbs the flavor more. I also got the salt and pepper pork chop, which seemed to be a popular dish here. The pork was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Service was good. They even pack your leftover food for you.

Great place for Cantonese style food! I've been here many times and it never disappoints! Honestly it's like comfort food for me, so I highly recommend checking it out. Some of my favorite dishes are the: seafood and tofu bowl and the egg, shrimp flat rice noodles

Had a great experience at Alice Kitchen for a family-style dinner. We made a reservation in advance for their 8-10 person set menu ($438), and it was definitely worth it. The biggest highlight is how convenient the set menu is--no need to think about what to order, and you get a wide variety of dishes. Every course we had was solid. Standouts for me included the braised pigeon, crispy beef brisket (crispy on the outside and tender inside), ginger scallion lobster, and the black truffle fried rice. The portions were generous, and everything came out well-prepared and flavorful. They also included a complimentary Ovaltine French toast for dessert, which was a nice sweet ending. We added the HK-style pork ribs as well, which were also very tasty. One thing to note: the restaurant is quite lively and can get a bit noisy, and there are no private rooms. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter setting. Overall, great food, good value for a large group, and a fun dining experience. Would definitely come back!

Located in Temple City (San Gabriel Valley LA) CA. Note that Temple City has a wok, and Monterey Park does not have wok. I brought some friends here. This is a Hong Kong cafe. Read the old review. We got some late after noon baked bolognese, chicken corn soup, singapore vermicelli, yu hsiang eggplant and the pineapple buns. I was with someone from Hong Kong, no complaints. We get the hong kong iced milk tea and the cold lemon iced tea. Service was pretty quick on weekday lunch. Will come again.

Hong Kong style stir fried spare rib

Just tried Alice Kitchen and it was fantastic. We ordered the seafood tofu hotpot, Hong Kong style stir fried spare ribs, and their most popular potato filet mignon cubes with house sauce. Everything came out hot and super flavorful. The seafood tofu hotpot was comforting and packed with ingredients, perfect with rice. The spare ribs had that classic Hong Kong wok flavor, savory, slightly sweet, and nicely caramelized. The highlight was definitely the potato filet mignon cubes with house sauce. The beef was tender and the sauce paired perfectly with the crispy potatoes. Great portions, authentic flavors, and solid service. Definitely a spot I would come back to when craving Hong Kong style food. Highly recommended!

This spot is awesome. The food is absolutely amazing. It can be daunting with the size of the menu, and if you're not familiar with some of the dishes it can definitely be overwhelming, but chances are, anything you choose can be great. I recommend getting a pineapple bun sandwich.

Looks like someone's finger nail in my food

Although the food has always been very good. I am very disgusted by what I found in my baked pork chop rice. I was chewing my food and felt something hard. Initially I thought it was plastic but upon closer look, it looks like someone's fingernail. Therefore, only one star since this is very unsanitary. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be coming back again.

Fish filet congee with Chinese donut. Jumbo pineapple bun with chicken steak

Food is great and all, but I gotta bring it down to service and parking. Service: Their service isn't bad. But on a busy Sunday brunch it's just there's not enough staff to handle taking orders and kitchen staff make food. Combining both the waitlist and food arrival time takes an hour. The restaurant service was so busy that it took about 15 mins for our drinks to come to the table. Wonton noodle soup, egg noodles, +HK Ice Tea: Wontons were so flavorful and the egg noodles had the right amount of chewiness for their dish. Would recommend for someone that wants a flavorful hearty noodle dish. Jumbo Hong Kong Style Pineapple Bun Set and chicken steak: One of the most popular, would also recommend getting every single time. The HK Pineapple bun has the right amount of flakiness, sweetness paired with some savory chicken. Great alternative if you're in a burger/sandwich mood. Fish Filet Congee, Chinese Donut, +HK Ice Coffee: Chinese donut was superburb, soft and spongy with a light fried coating on the outside. Fish filet congee was light, congee had good amount of water to rice ratio.

Place was almost full at 10:30 pm. It's a nice place for family or friends gathering. It was clean and service was good. Out of four orders 2 are very good and the other two were good. The food orders are big portions, good presentation and tasted very good. I will have to try a different item when I come back.

It's basically a Hong Kong cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are several locations, but I like the one in Rosemead the best. I've eaten here many times and never once had a bad experience. We arrived at 8:00 pm on Saturday. The place was empty, understandably they close at 9:00 pm. I ordered seafood chow mein (pan fried with gravy) and HK style sweet and sour pork ribs. Both did not disappoint. The latter comes with a bowl of rice. Really tasty pork ribs. Casual dining experience. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Friendly and attentive staff. Credit cards accepted. Comfortable seatings. Bright lighting. Clean restrooms. Convenient parking.

We immediately got seated. Mind you, this isn't the type of place were you sit, enjoy your meal, and have a comfortable conversation. This restaurant is all about moving volume. Eat, be nice to the staff, and leave! Their take out business was off the charts during our stay. The staff was working their tails off to keep everything in order. Much respect there! Anyhow, I ordered from the "breakfast menu". They have an extensive pre-lunch - break menu at very affordable prices. I had the minced pork rice noodle in soup with a side of plain chowmein. And I ordered a ice (cold) milk tea (there's an up-charge for cold drinks +2 bucks). I think my total pre-tax and tip was like $16 bucks. Not bad. The chowmein was a bit "limp" in taste but I assume adding a bit of chili-oil would have fixed it for me. Again, this a good deal place. Enough said.

There's street parking in the front and plenty of plaza parking in the back. You can enter from both ways. It's a smaller restaurant and a bit aged and dingy, but that's how you tell that this place has character. They have daily and lunch specials and there should be some translated versions of the menus somewhere, but that's what I can deduce from the flyers around the restaurant. It was very, very busy when we visited, but the workers did their best to work through the chaos and get orders out, take pictures for our table, clear things out, etc. Lots and lots of energy going around. For our visit, we got: duck, beef cubes and mushroom, walnut shrimp, mapo tofu, fish maw soup, another similar broth soup but with beef in it, sauteed green beans, sweet and sour pork, sauteed egg plants, complimentary sago dessert, and a very special dessert that roughly translate out to double skin milk, which is a Cantonese specialty. Yummy layer of milk skin on top, yummy not too sweet custard texture. I heard from my friend that this isn't easy to find and this is one of the few places that make it. I'd come back just for this. We also got hot tea (as per usual) and a serving of white rice to go with all of the veggies and protein dishes that we got. My favs were definitely the beef, walnut shrimp (my GOAT), mapo tofu (decently numbing spice), and again, the dessert. Everything was seasoned nicely, not too salty and we didn't feel super thirsty afterwards which is great. Overall, not bad!

Situated inside an 8 parking spot lot, this restaurant has limited seating. During lunch rush, getting a seat may be difficult. I drive here after I tried them in Postmates because I want them to get all of my money. Postmates charges a service fee to the restaurant when you order from them so they always end up double-dipping: they charge the restaurant AND you to use their service. However, because they charge the restaurant a percentage of their sales, restaurants will often increase their prices on Postmates. So the prices you see are often inflated by 20-30% to offset the greed of Postmates. I come here quite often now for takeout. The staff speaks English well enough and my Mandarin takes care of the rest. I've had their braised spare ribs and cabbage rice dish. The savory flavor of the ribs worked wonderfully with the stir fried cabbage. The sauce ends up being absorbed by the heaping portion of white rice underneath. However, the true reason I come back is their desert: chilled pear and white wood ear soup. MY GOD. Sweet without being saccharine, thick without being too goopy. If you've ever had white wood ear as a desert drink, you know what I'm talking about. There is NO OTHER desert as cooling and refreshing. To amplify the cooking nutritious effect, they also add goji berries and jujubes--the two kings of health when it comes to Eastern Medicine. To this deliciously cold soup, they had one full Asian pear, hollowed out and cooked until divinely tender. On a hot summer day or after a long day of work, I can think of no other dish that puts a smile on my face. I'm going to eat through their menu and report back. Update: Tried two new dishes today (in photo). Simply delicious.
