    Banchan (side dishes)
    Yolanda S.

The restaurant is clean and well kept, with a simple, comfortable setup that feels inviting. The female owner was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the service throughout was attentive and smooth, which made the whole experience even better. We decided to share a couple of soups, the #9 yukgaejang and the #10 galbitang. Both were flavorful and comforting in their own way. The yukgaejang had a nice depth with a good kick of spice, while the galbitang was clean, light, and rich in that slow simmered beef flavor. Overall, it is a solid spot for comforting Korean soups in Arcadia, especially if you are looking for something warm and homey!

    Bossam

Suuuuuch a good find!!! We stopped here on our way out of SoCal, we all ordered 4 different soups and shared a bossam and each of us loved our meal. The bossam was one of the best I've had, their ssamjang is amazing. Banchan included kimchi, radish, and fishcake, and the soups each came with a rice. There's a few designated parking spots on the back of the building. There was only one lady and one cook working but she was so kind and provided great service to all the tables. Would absolutely return if I'm ever in the area again.

    Bossam medium soondae

I had a rough day and my friend ordered a bunch of food for the house and we all had such a feast. Talk about Korean soul food that just hits!!! What we ordered Bossam, medium soondae, 2 soondaeguks, gamjatang and extra veggies for bossam The bossam and soondae soooo good. I feel like soondaeguk was good but little bland I needed extra sauce of everything. I'll ask for extra next time. Bossam was really good especially with extra steamed veggies just wrapping it all together! Also the kimchi and the raddish kimchi was fantastic my housemate really liked the raddish They packed a lot of side dishes, jalaepenos garlic samjang and the salty shrimp sauce... it was so delicious Loook at that beautiful spread! Will definitely order and be back

I decided to give this place another try. I ordered their spicy soondaeguk again, this time with a galbi combo. The same "warmed-over flavor" was in the pork tongue and heart. This tasted more pronounced than the last time. I couldn't enjoy the soup. Their galbi is also subpar. They are very thin and don't taste like galbi at other Korean restaurants. I've made better versions at home with online recipes.

The pork platter is so delicious. I'm so glad I can find bossum in the 626 and I don't need to drive out to ktown. Our server was a sweet lady and her service was great. She was really sweet and guided us on how to eat it too.

I got the ginseng chicken soup(Samgyetang) Its not on the menu but i saw it on the wall. It was very flavorful but tasted healthy as well. Its a whole chicken and they stuffed rice, ginseng and other things in there. I liked eating the chicken meat with the salt mixture they provided. She said the ginseng chicken soup would take about 20 minutes but i felt like it came out alot faster. Theres also an empty bowl where you can throw away your bones. Their fishcake is soo good and they give you a whole stack. They provided barley tea and refilled it when it was empty. Cute little shop. The workers here are so nice. She was telling us that there are different sauces for different soups. Then telling us to pick up the meat or noodles witht he tong and chopchopchop (with scissors) said if it ling chop it off haha.she even taught my friend how to say thank you in korean. Would definitely come back for the vibes and food.

    Banchan - fresh and good
    Scott L.

Solid Korean comfort food with limited but excellent and very fresh Banchan (Kimchee, Fish Cake, Kalguki). There is a parking lot in the back or you can chance parking out front on busy Baldwin. The ambiance is simple with bright lighting, white walls with pictures of food, and utensils and napkins in the under-table drawer. A bowl covered in a recyclable bag is used to capture your waste: Short Rib Bones, Napkins, Food Scraps, etc... servers just flip the bag inside out and put a new bag on for the next Customer. Not sure about the environmental benefits of washing versus organic tossing, some Environmentally conscious Yelper could tell us?!? The food is simple: soups, Bossam, short rib, etc.. but solid! Wife had the Tukbaegi Bulgogi (marinated beef with glass noodle in a sweet broth) and Kalbitang (short rib soup with glass noodles in a beef broth). Each also came with a bowl of white rice. Scissors and Prongs needed to cut the beef off the short rib bones and onto to smaller pieces. Side Note: you're not allowed to take the leftover tasty Banchan home. Yep, I see you, don't think about it, nope, don't think about it. Granted, I don't know what the consequences are... take a pic of you and ban you for life?!? Overall: good, noisy, family oriented restaurant worthy of putting on your base list of comfort food restaurants.

Best hangover soup ever!! Came here for a quick fix after heavy drinking from earlier the day, and the soup hit the spot. definitely what is needed to comfort the tummy. Fast quick parking and quick easy ordering process. And the dinning areas was nice and quiet. Highly recommended and much appreciated for the comfort food to rejuvenate

First time at Myung and we loved it! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a rainy day and were seated right away with no wait. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, and we were started off with banchan right away. The kimchi is a 10/10 fresh, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. We loved it so much we had three refills. We ordered two different stews, and the spicy one definitely packed some serious heat. The pork cutlet was perfectly cooked and extra crispy. We did expect it to come with potato salad since it's shown in the menu photo, but it wasn't included even though the picture on the menu did have it. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Everything was delicious, and we'll definitely be back to try the bossam we've heard so much about. Perfect spot for a cozy meal on a cold, rainy day!

    Small Soondae

Not a bad Korean spot especially if you want some soup or other options like Katsu. I was glad there was soondae as that is a favorite dish of mine. I got the oxtail soup with brisket which I was able to substitute with glass noodles. I liked the broth came unsalted so I could adjust the saltiness how I wanted. I would say the brisket was a bit chalky? and not a good texture like it should be, so that kind of put me off. The banchan isn't bad and the restaurant is nice and clean. Service was ok, although I did go on Christmas so they we're probably low on people.

If the banchan good you know that food will be hittin. Leaving no crumbs.

I never regret giving this place five stars. A great authentic Korean matjib in the 626. Still just one of the two what I can call matjibs. Their seollangtang is OG, classic, perfect and great for beginners to Korean food. Their seokuh seollangtang is perfect for me because it doesn't have the stuff I don't like (liver/heart). My bf still loves their pork gukbap as much as jinsols. I'm not a fan because the wild sesame flavor aint for me. Their oxtail soup never disappoints too. I've had their yukgaejang years ago but I do remember it being whatever. The only thing there I remember being whatever. THEIR KIMCHI AND BANCHAN IS SO GOOD. It's perfected for the Korean tongue. The type of kimchi they serve is called geotjeori. It's not supposed to be bitter and fermented. Anyways kimchi and ddugi is so good thats why they got those signs there. IYKYK. The bunigi is seulseulhae, or mood is mellow, because they got the music low and sometimes the servers are introverted. But who cares? Foods bussin, that's my mood maker.

Ordered: - Mixed Haejangguk (2.5/5): I found the broth too watery - while spicy, there wasn't much other dimensions to the flavor. I constantly found myself feeling that some core component of the dish was missing, and ultimately with the small portion size for the price I was ultimately left disappointed. - Sullungtang (2/5): My gf loves ordering this at other spots and sadly this was a disappointment. The soup had no flavor at all so my gf had to use the juices from the radish banchan to give the soup some flavor in addition to lots of salt and pepper. Even then it was missing the broth flavor that you'd normally find and still just tasted extremely watery. For the price the portion wasn't amazing either. Overall (2/5): We've been to Myung Ga Haejangguk in the past and had a good experience but sadly we were quite disappointed by the quality of the food this time. The soups here aren't the cheapest and unfortunately the best thing served to us that night was the banchan. As for service, it was friendly and the restaurant while somewhat busy wasn't too noisy.

We were here to try their Bossam. I didn't regret coming here because their pork belly slices were delicious, tender, and I tasted their herbal flavors in this dish. Great portion for this dish. It was served with radish, kimchi, fresh cabbage, garlic, and green pepper. The pork does not have strong smell and meat was flavorful and it was really good to eat with cabbage and kimchi that was provided. All the side vegetables were fresh. Pork cutlet was also good and it came with rice and shredded cabbage with spicy mayo as a sauce on the cabbage. Tender fried pork with crispy and crunchy breading on top. No oil smell or taste. Service was great and attentive. This place is great for family gatherings with great portions of Korean cuisine in Arcadia. Highly recommended this restaurant!

Bulgogi soup with glass noodle, and side dishes like fish cake, pickled radishes, and kimchi.

Their cold noodle dish is easily one of the best within a 15-mile radius. Honestly, there's not much competition in the area, so it's more about convenience versus driving farther for the absolute best, but Omma delivers consistently good quality that keeps me coming back. The bulgogi plate is a must-order when dining in. There's something special about that sizzling hot plate arriving at your table with the meat still bubbling and caramelizing. The banchan is standard fare with basic kimchi, nothing to speak home about but expected for standard Korean cruisine. What I appreciate most is how family-friendly this place is. The food court setting offers plenty of spacious seating, and parking in the lot is never an issue. I mostly do pickups and there's usually no wait time. The one time we did sit down to eat, I noticed a steady stream of delivery orders going out, which speaks to their popularity. It's not fancy, but for quick, reliably good Korean food in a convenient location with easy parking, Omma Tofu House hits the spot. Perfect for those times when I'm craving cold noodles or sizzling bulgogi without the hassle.

I decided to try to go in person and order my usual bibimbap + seafood tofu soup. I remember extra banchan can be ordered but not sure about dine in. I ordered directly with the server who handed me a buzzer to wait for my order to be called. It took an around 10minutes for the food the be ready. I had two trays, one for soup and banchan and the other for bibimbap. You mix your bowl of rice (be careful since the bowl is metal and hot!) into the bibimbap bowl, add sauce (only spicy version they do not have nonspicy sauce!) and mix!! It has all sorts of veggies and meat bits and a fried egg. You can also add all the banchan in as well but we wanted to eat them separately with each bite. They gave us a raw egg (crack it in the soup asap if you don't want it runny!) which I cracked into the hot stone soup, be careful because the bowl is super hot!! I think someone melted our tray with is be fair because the tray was morphed as well. Soup was delicious, love the tiny shrimps, clams, and oyster pieces inside with plenty of tofu which I mixed into bibimbap as well. Banchan was 5 dishes! Potato's salad is new to me as I'm used to their kimchi, seaweed, bean sprouts and fish tofu dishes. All great! Enough food so I didn't ask if they give extra banchan or a price or free. Once we were done we returned the tray and bowls to the restaurant. Glad I tried this is person! Still amazing and worth the wait.

They are very cheap with the side dishes (banchan). Portions were extremely small, and refills were either refused or came back noticeably smaller. This is not what you expect from a proper Korean restaurant, especially given the prices. What made the experience worse was the unprofessional behavior. The staff were openly talking badly about customers in Korean, clearly assuming no one would understand. That is extremely disrespectful and unacceptable in any restaurant.
