Saw the new small package sized chocolates. Wow, very expensive though! Wish the prices are slightly more affordable. The slab chocolates were very good. You can taste some flavors prior to purchasing. Expect to walk out lowest $20+ for 1 small 1/2 palm size chocolate. But will come again ! read more

FrischSchoggi chocolates [Livermore CA] Omygoodness we have a Läderach here in NorCal... well, I'm in trouble now. First time I tried their chocolates was in Washington DC and fell in love with their hazelnut chocolate. This FrischSchoggi made of fine milk chocolate is blended with large roasted and caramelized hazelnuts... imagine that when I walked inside the store and they were handing out samples of this-- hazelnut chocolates! They were generous at handing out two good size pieces to each customer. The employees were nice and the team member helping me at the counter asked if I wanted to try any other samples. Since I enjoyed the hazelnut he said I might like the FrischSchoggi Cornflakes Milk chocolate. It had crispy-light cornflakes creating a crunchy chocolate treat. It was delicious but my number one choice was still the hazelnut so I bought a small piece. Stopped by with my friend while shopping at the Livermore Outlets. My friend received some boxes of these chocolates recently so she wanted me to try some. We stepped in and a friendly gentleman assisted us showing the different types of chocolates--boxed, bagged, gifts, Valentine-themed and the FrischSchoggi slabs which were wonderfully displayed behind the counter. He offered samples for us to taste and told us which flavors they ran out of like a Macchiato/Coffee flavor because my friend was thinking of getting the small packaged squares. You can purchase the FrischSchoggi by the pound and a quarter pound was about $15. He showed us it was approximately as big as his open-hand. At first I thought of buying the box of sticks with the variety of flavors. He said you could use those to stir in your morning coffee and I laughed and said my morning coffee just has creamer! I think that would be too sweet! For me it would be more like for an afternoon snack! Since these are artisanal chocolates, the prices weren't cheap. You could taste how smooth the chocolate is and the hardest part is deciding which flavors to choose from aside from getting a sugar high from all the samples, LOL!! That's what was happening with my friend who was sampling! I ended up getting a pre-packaged bag from the rounder which had mostly packages with Pumpkin Spice as half of the bag. My friend and I didn't want it so the employee was fishing thru the bags to find what didn't have the Pumpkin Spice. The prices were 2 bags for $60 or 1 bag for $45. It amounted to about 1-lb per bag. I ended up being the only one buying the bag since the other choices weren't appealing to my friend. Mine had half Salted Caramel and the other half had a Dark Chocolate Orange w/Whiskey and Nuts kind of flavor. I went back to the counter and asked about the Strawberry Curd flavor so the employee gave my friend and I a sample. OMGeeee!! It had dried strawberry slices and that tang added a nice component to the creaminess! It wasn't too sweet either. It reminded me of a Strawberry bits cereal and the employee said "Oh I know what you're talking about...I can't think of the name..." I think I'll buy some the next time I'm at the next Laderach. We even tried their Dubai Chocolate FrischSchoggi. There's even Vegan chocolates as an option. So many choices!! I had a nicely decorated, thick red bag with deep red tissue paper so even the packaging is done well. The Salted Caramel is very smooth, not too sweet and that hint of salt balances the chocolate very well. The Orange/Whiskey chocolate had a nice subtle liquor flavor in the middle palate and was such a nice combo. YOLO so indulge once in awhile! Valentine's Day is just around the corner... read more

I always buy chocolate from laderach. When we went today, they didn't have the dark dubai chocolate, so we opted for the mixed Dubai chocolate. When we bought it, I wanted to have a sample of their chocolate but both of the people working there ignored us. The staff saw us and looked annoyed and helped the other customer instead. I wasn't asking for so much plus we bought a $34 chocolate already. Just felt really sad the way we were treated. We left disappointed. read more

I mean, who doesn't love free samples and especially when it's delicious chocolate. Really enjoyed the taste so much that I had to purchase some to take home. Purchased one assorted bag for my son and one for myself. Also took two individual little chocolate treats with some really good cream filled center and dried fruit on top. You simply cannot walk past this store without getting a generous sample. My favorite is the milk chocolate and hazelnut and hubby's is milk chocolate cereal. Honestly, you can't go wrong in any flavor. I can't wait to get the Dubai chocolate but not any time soon because it's distribution is limited. Depending on the day and time of the week, parking can be a nightmare even in this big place. But....it's worth it and don't be shocked with the price. Why is this chocolate so good!! I walk by every time I'm at the outlets and the sample always draws me in. Their chocolate melts in your mouth perfectly and the hazelnuts in some of the chocolate are perfectly crunchy! The strawberry white chocolate and raspberry white chocolate are also super yummy. The staff is so friendly and will give you more samples as you're making your purchase so you don't have any regrets! The chocolate is expensive if you're used to buying bars from the grocery store, but so worth it. This is the perfect place to buy a nice little gift for your chocolate loving friends! read more

This was my first time here and man oh man! The customer service was GREAT!! The guys were super friendly and welcoming and were happy to assist and explain a lot about the chocolates. They let me try 2 samples of the Swiss chocolates and I tried the hazelnut and this strawberry one. This is the best chocolate I've ever had!!! I liked the samples so much I bought 2 of the ones I tried. Absolutely fantastic! The store is super clean and very organized. It has a very fancy vibe to it. I like it a lot. When I came home I let my husband try the chocolates and we are almost out! I will definitely be coming back next month for more and to try more flavors. Chocolate Factory!!! One of the best chocolates Ive had in my lifetime and perhaps the best ever! Laderach is located in the Livermore San Francisco Outlet. As soon as you walk in you'll be treated by hazelnut chocolate samples. It is delicious and it's one of many delicious flavors! I've tried the hazelnut, milk chocolate, macadamia and strawberry. The best is probably the strawberry. As with others, strawberry has a smooth creamy milk chocolate that melts in your mouth but infused with strawberry slices! Every bite is delicious! I'm not a chocolate expert, but wow, the best chocolate so far! The only negative side I can think of is that Laderach is way too far from where I live! Overall, the best in the East Bay! We bought several to try, and hands down, the hazelnut is the winner. I also bought a couple of chocolates to go. Hands down one of the best shops at this outlet mall. Laderach Chocolatier Suisse opened up at the vacated Godiva Chocolate space in the Outlet Mall. They have an impressive display of stacks of different flavor chocolate slabs through out the store. There are boxed and packaged items as well as chocolate by weight. IMO Laderach is way better than Godiva. It's pricey even for premium Chocolates. We wound up buying a bunch of Christmas gifts. read more

When I walked in I was greeted by a lady passing out samples of their chocolate hazelnut. That was the beginning of my attachment to this place. This location of Läderach Chocolatier Suisse is located in the San Francisco Premium Outlets (actually located in Livermore). Free samples of Swiss chocolate?!? Sign me up! However, the saying goes that nothing in life is free, and that was the case here when I ended up purchasing chocolates after my "free" sample. Luckily, the prices for their praline truffles were very reasonable. I ended up trying the following truffles: Nougatine, Feuilletine, Le Noir/Dark Truffle Filling ($71.60/lb, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=EsI3G00Ove1In85doApluA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg). The feuilletine was my favorite out of the three, and I loved the crispy and crunchy thin wafer bits throughout the truffle. The nougatine was my second favorite, and I liked the slightly chewy part of the truffle. The le noir was my least favorite; although the quality of the chocolate was still really good, it wasn't as flavorful as the other two truffles. The sample I tried was their best-seller: FrischSchoggi Hazelnut Milk (milk chocolate w/large roasted and caramelized hazelnuts). I loved the hazelnuts sprinkled throughout, and they went really well with the smooth and rich milk chocolate. I also tried their FrischSchoggi Confetti Milk (w/candy-coasted chocolate pieces). The candy coated pieces added a crunchy texture, but I preferred the hazelnuts to offset the sweetness of the milk chocolate. They had so many different praline truffle flavors, and I'll definitely be back to try others as well as more of their FrischSchoggi/slab style chocolates. Staff were still wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted, and they had hand sanitizer. No indoor seating was available, but there was outdoor seating throughout the outlets. read more

Downright delicious! All their chocolates are imported weekly from Switzerland. And that's a fact - the chocolate here tastes exactly like how it did when I was in Switzerland. Their chocolate is amazing (though, not as great as Belgium chocolate...) and has such a decadent and delicate mouthwatering-melting taste! Each piece of chocolate on display is weighted and can range between $2-$4 a piece. There isn't any labels next to each chocolate - all are displayed on a pamphlet at the top of the window displays. We tried the white chocolate, pistachio chocolate, coconut chocolate and plain dark chocolate. I would've gotten more but was not willing to blow all my money on chocolate on my very first stop, but it was a very delicious start to the day! Makes me want to go back to Switzerland. This may be one of my fave chocolate shops in the bay now! They have a great selection of chocolates from milk to dark chocolate and even white chocolate. I stopped by to buy some chocolate for Valentine's Day and wound up buying an assorted box of 4 chocolates that I chose from the glass cabinet. All of the milk chocolates were delicious. There was one with pralines that was particularly good. Will definitely try other chocolates the next time we are in the area. Minus one star for one of the staff members being very monotone and not really showing that he cared about customers at checkout. Stumbled upon this store this weekend at the Livermore Outlets. Recognized the name as they have a store in NY, but never tried their chocolates so thought might as well. Store was clean and spacious enough, with several staff offering assistance. One staff person also handed out samples. **Tip during this time of covid: sanitize your hands before you accept the sample - the staff person used gloves & tongs to pickup the sample, but still had to drop it into our hands! The sample offered was a piece of their milk chocolate bar with roasted hazelnuts. I immediately noticed that the milk chocolate was very smooth/buttery, and was not as sweet as milk chocolate can be, plus had a nice malty note. Because it was pretty good, we decided to purchase the dark chocolate bar with roasted hazelnuts, and also a few individual filled chocolates/truffles. When ordering the individual filled chocolates on display, they have a stack of mini brochures on top of the counter which you can look at, however I found it easier to ask the staff about the chocolates. We were interested in chocolates containing wafers or cookies, as well as chocolates filled with marzipan, and their recommendations were great. The bars of chocolate are displayed adjacent to the filled chocolates, and it appeared that they had many kinds, sheets and sheets of solid chocolate laced with nuts and other items -- I didn't pay too much attention there this time because there was a group of people perusing the bars and I just wanted to get the dark chocolate with hazelnut. Taste-wise, the milk chocolate is definitely not as sweet as Godiva, Ghirardelli, even Lindt (this latter brand which I do like, but I usually get their dark chocolate). The filled chocolates were good, but our favorite was the dark chocolate bar with roasted hazelnuts. The hazelnuts tasted sightly carmelized and were crispy/fresh, while the dark chocolate was smooth. Next time I will check out their other bars, and get a few other filled chocolates (with marzipan, and the boozy ones sound good) to try. Turns out earlier this year Läderach assumed the lease of 34 Godiva stores across the country, and looks like Läderach is also now at Stanford Shopping Center so we in the bay will be able to try their chocolates more often now. read more

Traveling to Switzerland has long been a dream of mine, primarily because of their exquisite chocolates And of course because of CLOY. I am especially grateful to Laderach for delighting my taste buds with their luxurious offerings. While their prices can be a bit steep, every bite is absolutely worth it. Among their incredible varieties, I find myself particularly enchanted by the strawberry curd white chocolate, which is a perfect blend of creamy sweetness and dried strawberry fruit flavor.
