Multiple times my technician suggested I purchase materials and hire an independent HVAC technician or attempt repairs myself. I would have been more pleased if their costs were more reasonable. I had two things go wrong. 1) I paid for the gold membership for emergencies. I had an emergency and they would not come out. 2) I had a simple outside pipe connected to my sprinkler system that needed to solder in a new joint... they wanted to charge me $500... They charged my account $100 for coming out - but did not give me a bill or tell me. In my view this was stealing. I fixed it for $15. It took me 15 min. read more

These guys prices are sky high. They charge 2 to3 times retail. Had a quote for HVAC total system replacement at $26K. I priced out the components on the quote (by make and model number) and retail for each component was 30 to 40% of what they quoted, reasonable total price for the work would've been closer to $10 or 12k. They also misdiagnosed original issue with fan motor, said it was the Nest and tried to sell me a new thermostat, then when they discovered the motor was the problem, the tech installed a new one but did not replace the capacitor and immediately over heated it. Spring service cost to clean the exterior AC was $600+ (just to clean it) and I was paying a monthly subscription on top. I'm embarrassed it took me so long to suss them out. Very expensive and incompetent. I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Had them install a furnace. Estimate was way too high but there was a bad cold snap coming to the area. The clowns came in, took forever, botched almost everything on the install, kicked over a quart of pvc primer on the way out the door and didn't say a word about it. They charged $8500 for a roughly $2000 furnace. I really don't understand the pricing structure for this company and have addressed this with the owner a couple times. Price for water heater replacement was equally ridiculous. They came back to fix but this was a really painful process for supposed 'professionals'. Will not use them again. read more

He put on shoe protectors and was very professional. He had our system diagnosed quickly and gave us our options. I hope next time we have a system problem that they send Chris. The office lady needs canned or is a great example of their service, which wouldn't surprise me based on other reviews. She opened the conversation saying they were booked "for a ways out", which was a lie once she learned that they installed our unit a few years ago. Went from "can't help ya" to "we can have someone out there at 2pm tomorrow". Then she came back with a quote that was twice the competition (seeing that in other reviews). I asked her if there was any reason to use them as opposed to the other quote I got and she said "no not really" I wouldn't let these bozos install a roll of toilet paper at my house. They replaced a furnace on 12/21/22. They were very slow. When they left, they kicked a quart of purple pvc primer off the ladder and stained the floor and wall heavily. Mopped it all over the white tile in the utility closet and left without saying anything. Upon further inspection, insulation had not been replaced in the joist bay, intake pipe was not glued(pvc), strap hanger was not supporting pipe at all and the termination cap on the pipes outside looked like a blind 3rd grader did it(sorry 3rd graders). These guys are hacks, owner is a crook and install manager clearly cannot run a crew. Don't hire these clowns, you'll be sorry. read more

With the seasons changing, I had a little trouble getting my heat to work already. I thought the thermostat was acting up, but apparently it was a symptom of a bigger problem. I called Parker Heating and Air Conditioning on a Saturday in the afternoon and was told they were on after hours support. I was told they would call me back first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment if I wanted to avoid the extra cost of paying after hours. I decided to wait, and they did call me first thing in the morning. I only wish I would have been told on Saturday when I spoke to them that they consider coming by for an appointment after 4 PM an afterhours support because what ended up happening is that I could not make it home until 6 PM. So, even though I waited a day, I still had to pay the afterhours cost. Anyways, the technician was very thorough and pleasant, and figured out what our issue was, actually diagnosed it rather than just recommend we replace everything. I would call this company again and recommend them to a neighbor. I actually called them over another company because I saw their truck at my neighbor's house recently. After fixing the problem I did have them install a new thermostat anyways, because we wanted to. Though, I could probably have done it myself I figured I'd rather have the assurance that it was done properly. The cost on that was little astronomical, but everything else was reasonable for my repair. read more

Overpriced service and Rick refused to give us an itemized bill showing what the parts and labor costs were!! We were having trouble with our furnace lighting so called them to come look at it. The technician was at our house for 1 1/2 hours tops and changed out a gas valve ($200 part). The bill was $1,171.00. We called twice to talk to someone about the charge and received no return phone calls so we went down to the office, not once, but twice to try to speak with someone about the bill. We were told that it's expensive to run a business and we live in a nice house so the bill was appropriate and they do not itemize bills for customers. We were having trouble with our Carrier heat pump. Called Parker Heat and Air...Taylor was the technician that was dispatched to our house. He tested the system and said it was low on coolant, quoted a price of $1400.00 to charge the system. He said he couldn't guarantee that it would be a fix and said we needed to replace a substantial part of the system at a cost of approximately $8,000. Further he said the installation was substandard, I'll start with the installation...it was installed by the owner of CARRIER WEST, my cousin. He hasn't installed anything substandard in his career. Second, we had another technician come out, he found a loose fitting within minutes. Tightened the fitting, added $20.00 of refrigerant, and the system was fixed. I was surprised that the day after my review posted, I received an e-mail from Eric Despres that a new furnace (60,000 BTU) has been ordered to replace the 40,000 BTU furnace that I have. It would take about 2 months to get it delivered. Finally, on August 29,2022, the furnace I paid for last year was installed. Hopefully, that will be the end of the furnace chapter! read more

When they arrived, I was thinking to myself that these young men couldn't have a lot of experience in this field. I was wrong. This turned out to be one of the most positive experiences I have had with contractors/installers since moving to Colorado. Jared and Ryan coordinated the work effort and did an outstanding job. Installation manager and 2 apprentices installed a new furnace and AC. I got 3 estimates, they were the highest, but the salesman made it sound like do the highest quality work. The installation manager was rude, arrogant, and left cigarette butts on my property. They did a rush job and I found multiple problems after they left. I called them and the attitude I got was "oh well, doesn't sound like a big deal." They are very expensive, do poor work, and have a bad attitude. read more

We cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about Parker Home Services - our A/C unit went out and Josh was here the following day to help us with the options we had available. Once we chose our options - Eric and Wolfgang came out to do the installation. They are the ultimate in professional installers; from laying down drop clothes anywhere they traveled( on top of wearing booties) to vacuuming the work area once they were done. Overall, I didn't get a good feeling about this transaction. We have a humidifier that has been having issues and I called Parker Heating and Air. They have a good rating with the Better Business Bureau. The man who arrived, Richard, was friendly, which I appreciated, but he seemed fake friendly. He seemed to be making too much of an effort to chit-chat. It seemed insincere. I had been informed that there would be a trip charge, just to come to my home, and that was reasonable to me. I told him about our humidifier issue and showed him where it was. He did spend a good amount of time testing various things and seemed conscientious in his efforts. I had cleaned that portion of our basement so that he'd have a lot of room to work, and I'd brought down some extra lamps so that he could see well because it tends to be dark there. I was a bit offended when he said to me "Thank your husband for bringing the lights down." I replied that I was the one who brought the lights down. Richard told me that the type of humidifier we had was good and he mentioned why. He also mentioned that a new one would cost about $1500. I was not told if that included installation or not. After a while, he came and told me about a part that was broken on our humidifier. He didn't address whether or not ordering a replacement would be an option. He said the only solution would be to install a completely new humidifier. He didn't give me a chance to tell him that that's out of the question because there's no money in our budget for that. He was on his phone quickly and talking to his office to schedule someone to come out and give me a quote for a price for a brand new humidifier. He looked at me and said, rather than asked, "Does tomorrow work for you" but I didn't have a chance to look at my calendar. He just quickly told whomever was on the phone that they could come out the next day and give me a cost estimate. Then, he quickly got off the phone and said goodbye. I imagine that he was in a hurry because there was no more money to be earned, but he didn't give me any chances to say that there was no point in a cost estimate because there was no way I could afford a new humidifier. He ran out the door. I had to call Parker Heating and Air back and cancel the appointment for a cost estimate on my own. I looked into if the broken part could be replaced and it's hundreds of dollars, but still less than a new humidifier. I've been able to get the humidifier working on my own. I have to manually turn it off and on because the switch that controls the fan is broken, but this solution is far less expensive than replacing the whole system. read more

I have had two other heating and air conditioning companies do work at our place - and was not happy with either one of them. I had a dead furnace. They spent a long time and practically took it all apart to try to solve issue. They found a crack in the heat exchange block on a 20 year old furnace in addition to the gas release valve being dead. Time for a new furnace. They were $20 more than the next company to come out to the house, but they got there right away since I was without heat during a cold spell. I would have liked to have purchased a new furnace from them. Unfortunately they were 20% more than the one other company I had come out and bid. read more

I called at 7 am on a Friday to say my A/C was not functioning and I would like a service call. My message was not responded to for more than 8 hours. I was told all service people were busy and they could not get to me until Monday. When I said that was not acceptable, miraculously, a service person showed up within 30 minutes. My unit was declared dead by the service man, and I was told the salesman would be in touch to go over options for replacement. 11 days later, I am still waiting for a call from the salesman. I found another wonderful company who replaced my unit within 3 days and had much more information than I was given by the Parker service person. So much for dealing with smaller, local businesses. read more

Our thermostat broke on a very cold night. I called Parker Heating and Air at about 8:30 a.m., set an appt for between 2-4. The dispatcher called back about an hour later and said there was a cancellation and a tech could come in 15 minutes, I said absolutely. Cory came out and confirmed that yes, it was broke. Replaced it really quickly. While preparing the invoice the heat went off, he noticed, waited, and it came back on. He said he could check the furnace while he was here, thought it was a dirty flame sensor. He went up into the attic and fixed that too. Very professional and reasonable. With my fair and impartial assessment of Parker Heating and Air Inc., the service and installation they provided would be approximately below okay, and that accounts for the price I was charged (just over $7k). My aging heating furnace failed recently and the technicians from Parker Heating & Air replaced that (only the base model furnace and the minimal option) on Oct 20, which took just over 7 hours. The technicians were overall polite and did their work and finished installing a new furnace. Just from my observation, I think they their work as they promised to deliver, but they forgot a few things, and they were less careful and less respectful toward my property, because they left some minor stains on my carpet although they did use drapes to cover up the carpeted area (just not very well). They moved some of my belongings and boxes in my my basement in an attempt to make some room to do their work which was okay, but touched my partially open set/box of paper towels with their dirty hands leaving them with black stains all over the rolls of paper towels (the rolls of towels were inside of my plastics bag which was only partially open/exposed but they were not out of the bag at all, which means they had to reach inside of my rolls with their hands when they did not have to). They did try cleaning up the floor area after the work was done, but some of the sharp screws were all over the floor in my bathroom and left my bathroom sink a little bit messy. The floor covering of my crawl space was disturbed and they did not make any effort to cover the gravel area with the covering. They forgot to install the mat to soften the vibration, and they installed the wrong size air filter that was too small to cover the air flow opening. At the end of the day, the job was done, but slightly below in terms of the overall quality of work, especially for such a high price. My final take is the overall quality of the job is 2 out of 5. This score includes the minor mishaps with leaving my stored paper towels with stains, messy bathroom, forgetting to installing a mat they promised to soften the vibration, and installing the wrong size air filter. read more

We had a technician from this company come out to look at an AC unit that was not functioning properly. As my wife was home that day she spoke with the tech who immediately began trying to upsell their services by replacing an entire unit that was not even four years old. There was an oddly kinked copper line that he said was damaged by our dog which is laughable. He then stated that the pressure of the refrigerant could not be tested and this was incorrect. Secondly Taylor quoted $2700-3k just to diagnose the issue and was convinced the condenser was bad without any diagnostics done at all which also was incorrect. Thirdly he recommended replacing the entire unit for $6k and did not even mention the possibility that the carrier unit warranties its parts up to 5 years. Wrong again! All in all I am very unhappy with this service call as they did nothing right. Absolute incompetence!! At this point I contacted my insurance who sent out a technician who quickly diagnosed the problem and laughed that the Parker heating and air tech thought the copper line was damaged by an animal. He repaired the unit for $550 and the unit functions perfectly. Having been on the Parker Heating and air gold plan it is truly a joke that their untrained tech not only did not diagnose the issue correctly but charged me $99 for a service call where he spent less than 30 minutes doing anything other than trying to sell us a new unit. When I contacted the owner he defended his tech and refused to refund the $99 service charge accompanied by a number of excuses. Very Dishonest company here trying to upsell equipment rather than offer a reasonable fix. I will never use them again nor recommend them for any services. Do your research people!! in addition a year or so earlier another technician came out for a furnace service and said the induction motor needed to be replaced which was bs and quoted $1000 plus for a fix. Funny enough I have had zero issues. This is a new home too and another example of their attempts to upselling. i have nothing to do with the hvac business and in no way am a competator of any hvac service. i was a customer, but never again with this service. after you sign an estimate and agree on a price, it is unethical to remove the existing furnace and then attempt to nearly quadriple the price. rick seemed unable to understand that legally, we were "in reliance" of his estimate and would not have used his supposed "services" had we known he would have changed the cost after his expert presented a reasonable price. we did not pay his quadrupled new price, rather agreed after much angst, to pay for something that represented a compromise. i do not recommend his organization. read more

On January 25th I called Parker Heat and Air. My furnace was not functioning and the 'change filter' alert was flashing. The upstairs was chilly. I had changed the filters a couple days previously. An appointment was made the following day for a person to come fix my furnace. I was advised the trip charge would be $99.00. The service person arrived looked at the furnace and pushed a reset button. He confirmed the thermostat was functioning properly. I asked what I owed. He told me $165.00. PLUS the $99.00 trip charge. Being thunderstruck, It seemed to me the trip charge would be included in the fee for services rendered. No... the trip charge is a separate charge. So, the total charge would be $264!!! The person was at my residence for about :30 minutes. It was clear I was extremely shocked and unhappy. The service person called a bit later and offered to deduct $30.00 from the total charge. He returned and exchanged checks with me. Emails were exchanged with the owner. Rick indicated no further refund was available. It seems to me the charge for a simple push of a button drives a $264.00 fee is beyond outrageous! read more

They have the technical knowledge to perform the jobs. I have used them for years.... In the last visit they charged for parts 8 times the real value. Did not performed the service they charged for and when I found it and showed the owner how bad the work was, he tossed at me $250 for a visit that cost me 1,000. It is not right that they abuse senior customers this way..... I guess that experience is what i get when I do not get what I expected. read more

We used Parker Heating & Air for 10 years. As soon as we bought our home, we had a humidifier installed. After that, they did yearly checks on or AC and furnace. We'd referred them to many, many people for service. We never had any reason to question their integrity. Until..... This past fall, we had our yearly furnace check prior to winter. The tech very kindly came up apologizing saying our furnace was leaking carbon monoxide and we shouldn't use it. He took me down and showed me what he called a crack on his little camera thing. I couldn't even tell what I was looking at, but had no reason to question him. We discussed the risks of our furnace and he called the office for the sales guy to come and the tech left. The sales guy came, walked through my house, assessing what we needed. He then said we need to replace our AC unit at the same time for our system to work properly. He proceeded to give me quotes for my three price options, ranging from $17,000-$23,000. ?!?Sticking to the story that we need to replace both. Oh, and the "cheapest" option units? Too small for our house. After the shock, my husband and I called in other contractors for bids. The other 3 who came in all said we didn't have to replace the AC. Their questions included: was it broken? were we planning to use it in the winter? And sure, happy to sell us one, but totally not necessary. Our 3 other bids all came in less for the exact same units (except the too small of one bid by Parker H&A). Substantially less. I forgot to mention, for years we had paid for the gold club at PH&A, which was supposed to give us quality service and a discount on service-- but when it came time that didn't include the new equipment! I still have all my bids, just as a reminder that these guys are crooks. I've made sure to tell anyone who's looking for a referral to stay away from this company. Obviously, we went with a different contractor. We had great service and it was quick. I just had that same company come check my AC for spring. Less than half the cost!!! Parker Heating & Air, you should be ashamed of yourselves. To manipulate, lie, and take advantage of people's time of need and exploit their vulnerabilities is despicable. I called these folks a couple of years ago for a problem we were having with our furnace. We had called the company that installed it previously, they had come out and basically did nothing to fix it. The problem never went away. So, I called Parker Heating and Air. The guy who came out was very knowledgeable, didn't give up until he found the actual cause, fixed it and showed me how to do the same in the future. He was very helpful and the price was fair. The owner Rick York is a genuinely good person who cares about the customers satisfaction. He personally came to fix our AC unit and teach us about all the different parts of our system.
