Stars: 3.5 We came for their brunch when they opened at noon on a Sunday. The place was empty and we had it to ourselves. That was nice. The Good: Upon entering you can tell the owners (first timers from what I'm told) spent a great deal of care with the appearance and feel of the space. The ambiance is an elegant lounge style with complimentary lighting and overall an engaging atmosphere. Service from Dasha was great, she was kind and informed us about the live music offerings during the week which have a level of diversity. She was attentive to our needs during the meal and didn't crowd as some servers will do when the space is not packed. The music playing was a pleasant selection of reggae and pop which was a nice touch. The improvement: I mean all this with the utmost respect and please take it as improvement and not a knock. The menu, was simple and easy to read. There were not pages of selections a la The Cheesecake Factory, BUT the food was a bit lacking. Was it good... it was just OK. We ordered the two popular menu items (eggs benedict and chicken sandwich). The chicken sandwich was a little on the dry side and the eggs left much to be desired (and they came out kinda cold). A sandwich would have been nice to have a sauce on the side and something that gave it a punch. Maybe a mustard aioli or the like. For the eggs, please don't offer "extras" that should be on there in the first place. Make it pop without extra payment. Final Thought: We will come back and give it another shot for dinner and drinks (and Dasha was great) because we want places like this to succeed and maybe this spot is just not the spot for food, but drinks only. We hope not because the vibe is great. Hopefully they excel in dinner and drinks. Give it a shot if you want the ambiance and maybe just come for drinks and live music. Terrible!! Food is absolutely terrible!! Don't eat here!! A friend and I saw this place on a Thursday evening and thought it would be a cool place to eat. The vibe is definitely very club-ish for a fancy restaurant. We should have walked out when it was dinner time and there was only one other party there (red flags), but decided to try it anyway. Looking at the wine menu, all the wine was very cheap wine you could buy at your local grocery store (more red flags). We ordered two glasses of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. For reference, a bottle of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio at your local grocery store is $15 and they were selling it for $65! We ordered the carpaccio as an appetizer and we clearly stated to the waitress that my friend was allergic to nuts. Just so you all know, the carpaccio's ingredients shown on the menu did not state it had nuts on it. And what did the waitress come back with? Carpaccio that was covered in pine nuts! Of course, she took it back and gave us a new one. My friend then ordered the mushroom soup. The soup was soooo bland! We ended up asking for salt and pepper to season it. I ordered the Salmon with a side of Grilled Vegetables and my friend ordered the Surf & Turf (steak and shrimp). Not only was the salmon not cooked correctly (a bit undercooked), the vegetables were undercooked, and the shrimp was overcooked and tough! I complained to the waitress, but she didn't care. She was not very attentive and had an unfriendly demeanor about her as if she really hated her job. We asked for the bill and not only was it $260 for such a terrible meal with cheap wine and bad service, but an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill!! I couldn't believe the audacity. I have no idea who is giving this place a good review, but they've obviously never been to a good place to eat before. This place was terrible! Terrible food, terrible service, and overpriced cheap wine. The chef needs to be fired and the restaurant should really get some actual contracts with wineries like every other nice restaurant in California. Not to mention not automatically add gratuities to the bill when only 2 people are eating. The audacity! Nice restaurants like The Little Door or Inn at the 7th Ray have way better food, are well known, are nicer restaurants, and are not as expensive. I will never eat there again and I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this place if they are looking for a good restaurant. read more

I attended for a friend's birthday dinner. I loved the ambiance, decor, and attentiveness of the restaurant's staff. Nora at the host desk was very cordial, waiters were very friendly, and owner was very attentive and frequently stopped by to check if everyone was content. The dishes were beautifully presented, flavorful and the right temperature. The plates were frequently changed between meals. Musicians were such a great team. We loved the songs they performed and the interaction with guests. I highly recommend this restaurant for all ages and I will return for sure. read more

We went there for lunch. Food: Some of us ordered ribeye carpaccio. I asked the server if the ribeye they use in that sandwich is fatty knowing that ribeye in general is. The answer was "no". I read "ribeye" and assumed it's cooked ribeye. I did not know that "carpaccio" in Italian means raw meat (not until next day). Asking the server if the ribeye's fatty was a good indicator of that, wasn't it?! Clearly, the server did not know, either. I ate raw meat ... I don't eat raw mean ... Come on, this is not an Italian restaurant. You do not have Italian cliantele. If you are not going to mention it on the menu, at least, teach your servers a thing or two about your menu. They charge 18% gratuity for a group of 4. And, 3% if you use a credit card. I've seen some mom-and-pop shops charging a credit card fee, but a restaurant??? Very Dirty, with no costumers service, no management's, not worth it to pay any penny

We had a great experience with Forsh and his band, as well as excellent service and food from the waitresses! We will come over and over again if .... I was extremely disappointed when a singer called Zara appeared on the stage after. First of all she started scolding the audience for enjoying food during the concert. I should have not felt guilty for enjoying food in this environment. Somebody who respects Yerevan would not use this statement on the stage " Jhandam, " which seems dismissive and unprofessional. This was not Alex theatre, and the singers and audience chose this place for its environment otherwise we would have gone to Alex theatre. Forsh received a lot of positive energy and love from the audience!!!! Zara's job was to sing and entertain us not to teach us moral values!!!! Providing feedback to the management about the incident might encourage them to be more selective in choosing performers who respect the audience and understand the context of the venue. I would not come back to this venue if performers like her continue performing on the stage using turkish words singing about Yerevan. I am sorry. read more
