On Saturday 9am, 10/13/18 we visited L 'Dees at the recommendation of our hotel clerk. We had 13 motorcycle riders that were hungry for breakfast. We walked in, saw it was a small mom/pop place and didn't think we were going to be able to sit together. The waitresses were kind and said "honey, you just wait right there". In a matter of minutes, she had two big tables put together for our entire crew to sit together. The service was fantastic, the hometown feel is what we were looking for, the food was ON POINT!!!! The food was excellent and it was brought out fast. We made sure to take care of Marilyn with a great tip for her taking such good care of us. We tried this breakfast place on a friend's recommendation. We liked the way it looked inside - retro stools and counter. It was clean and bright. The waitress greeted us promptly, and brought our coffees right away, and that's important to me - I like to drink my coffee before I have my meal. The meals were fine, and my husband's eggs were done the way he likes them. The price was fantastic, really low - the only problem with this restaurant is that they don't take credit cards, you must use cash, and we rarely carry cash! They DO have an ATM inside, so that was ok. I would recommend L'dees for breakfast, they close at 2, so no dinners. read more

The food is not bad. I personally go to Mom's Country Kitchen. If you compare the two at Mom's you get more bang for your buck. There is more food as a lesser price at Mom's. It doesn't help that every time I've been to L D's I seemed to always get the "rude waitress" or the one having a bad morning already at 9 in the morning. read more

Hometown atmosphere with very reasonable prices. Food is good and the pancakes have a unique taste. Waitresses have been working here forever so the management must treat them well. Sarah is easy on the eyes and a hard worker. She always greets with a smile! Only thing that is bothersome is the cook with the burley beard. The kitchen is visible from the dining area and everyone has a clear eye shot of the cook with no gloves or beard guard. Not that big of a deal . We were passing through Front Royal on our way home to Pennsylvania. We had just run a 200 mile relay the two days before so we were looking for a good hearty breakfast. My wife and I usually don't eat a lot of carbs and dinor type food but it was our cheat day and it was really good. We both had build your own omelettes that were really good. The homefries were cooked perfectly. We split a blueberry pancake that for our usually almond flour/banana pancake diet tasted different, not bad different, just not what we are used to. Everything was great the service was great and our food came out quick and was hot. They do only accept cash but like other posts say there is an ATM in the building. Great hometown pancake house. Stopped in while camping at Shenandoah River State Park. We saw the good reviews and decided to try it out. Service was prompt and friendly. L' Dees oozes with small town charm. It looks like an old diner on the inside. The layout is basic -- the restaurant and bathrooms are super clean. The petite woman who waited on us was very sweet and cheerful -- she reminded me of Dolly Parton. The pancakes and biscuits were delicious -- best I ever ate. The eggs, bacon and homefries were typical. They offer two, two, two, two combo dishes that leave you filled to the rim! The price for how much food you get is a huge value. read more

It's the only place on main st open for breakfast which is standard eggs, etc . However coffee is of the "gas station" quality and so don't be far from a bathroom after your breakfast. There is a coffee house that opens 1 1/2 hours later that I would have liked to try but they need their rest. read more

L 'Dees is your typical breakfast diner. There was nothing amazing, the waitstaff was friendly, the food was decent. The blueberry pancakes and french toast were both very good but the scrambled eggs had a strange almost sweet flavor. Coffee was good and was never left empty. I'd like to give them 3.5 but I'm going for 4 stars since they deserve better then 3. I'd go again if I was in the area. read more

It's a classic American diner and serves that role very well. The staff were friendly and prompt taking orders and checking on us during our meal. The waitress made sure I had my coffee filled when I ran low and brought me extra creamer with the refill. The coffee was "good enough" and better than I usually expect from diners. The prices were good. Breakfast meals were ~$4-8 and coffee was $1.50, and our total bill for two adults came to $15.79. I'd go back if I'm in the area again. read more

Great place. Every Saturday morning my son and I take my grandson to breakfast there. He's only 2 but just loves going. Everybody knows him and greets him by name (Andrew) and he is greeted each morning with some little toy given to him by one of the wonderful waitresses. L'Dees is your basic diner/family restaurant in a small town. I've consumed about a half dozen breakfasts at L'Dees over the years -- my expectations were in check, and L'Dees delivered. Their menu contains all of the usual suspects, and the coffee is basic diner-style. But I mean that in a good way! I really enjoy traditional diners/family restaurants such as L'Dees.
